We've come a long way from the Red Pyramid in Dahshur, to the ones we see around today.
While the one thing that stands as a mark of constancy is the overall geometric shape, everything else, from their purpose, to their internal structure and aesthetics has undergone a vast change.
This evolution notwithstanding, these architectural spectacles continue to enthrall mankind with their symmetry and grace. Pyramids will undoubtedly continue to do so for as long as they exist, or maybe even longer.
The Great Pyramid of Cholula is located ten minutes outside of Puebla in Mexico. It has the largest volume of the pre-Columbian pyramids, and is the largest stone monument in the world. Constructed by various groups in four stages over hundreds of years from the 3rd century B.C.E. through the 9th century C.E., this Great Pyramid was dedicated to Quetzalcoatl, the Mesoamerican deity whose name means "feathered serpent."
The Glass Pyramid at the Louvre in Paris at sun set ... don't bother trying to take pictures of this outside with 1000's of tourist swarming the place with their tripods and dslr's ... go indoors and walk through the Greek sculpture displays and wait for sunset ... and you get a different perspective.

Pyramids of Güímar . Tenerife.
Mysterious and controversial, but still worth a visit, especially for the very nice garden next to it, the great documentary about adventurer Thor Heyerdahl and his travels and the Rapa Nui exhibition.
The site is very well maintained and organized, but they emphasize a little too much on the Thor Heyerdahl theory, ignoring pretty much all other theories about the origins of the Pyramids.
From Wikipedia.
The Pyramids of Güímar refer to six rectangular pyramid-shaped, terraced structures, built from lava stone without the use of mortar. They are located in the district of Chacona, part of the town of Güímar on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. There are claims that the structures have been dated to the 19th century and their original function explained as a byproduct of contemporary agricultural techniques. However, results of excavations have so far proved inconclusive.
Other pyramids employing the same methods and materials of construction can be found in various sites on Tenerife. In Güímar itself there were nine pyramids, only six of which survive.

the one at the right you can climb, and I did of course. some of the photos are taken from the top of the one at the right. I don't think it has a name.
Again I used a cad program to help in my research on the Henry Crater pyramid, The image I posted here is one step closer in deciphering the mystery of what is and what appears to be a more complexed evidence locale, I want to reiterate the importance of going to my first pyramid image and follow through the sequence of images and discoveries that brings me to this image I'm posting today.
On the left side is the pyramid image that contains markings in white where I believe are the locations of shadows from a cable line, In the previous pyramid images I outlined the basic shape of the pyramid and a tube like structure coming from underneath the surface, here I extend that knowledge to include more elements of this structure and the immediate area surrounding it. the shadows are visible and one can even follow them to their destinations, and at each point where the shadow changes direction there's a corresponding structure.
The top right image is the same pyramid but this time I did a more complete outline of the structure, I pointed out how the pyramid corner has been lowered to except the cable for clearance.
EXTRAPOLATION OF VISIBLE OBJECTS;
In the bottom right image (blue border) is everything compiled together, the dashed line is the shadow and not the actual cable, hence the off-centering of the top right azimuth angle of the dashed line (to the darker structure underneath), the suns angle is towards the top & slightly left of center, I believe the actual cable does go to the center of that upper right dark structure.

These were built to accommodate the athletics in Montreal’s 1976 Olympic Games. They are nice and dramatic as there is no hi-rise around from this view. I took this picture from the Olympic Tower’s elevator that takes you to the observation deck.

Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis), at Pynes Hill, Ludwell Valley Park, Exeter, Devon, England.
A widespread, but local orchid on limestone and chalk, and near the coast, especially on dunes. It's not very common in Devon due to the relative scarcity of calcareous soils.

I first recorded a single flower spike of this species at the same spot in 2008 and it has apparently appeared each year since (see previous photos from 2008 and 2009 below):
