The operator's cab at the bottom of the elevators is reminiscent of the Moscow subway. Indeed, the Pyongyang Metro designed was inspired by metro networks in other communist countries including Russia.

Established in 1933 by the Japanese as Pyongyang Medical College (平壤醫學專門學校), it was the highest educational institution in the northern part of colonial Korea. Of course, this fact is never officially mentioned in North Korea where everything is supposed to have started with the „Great Leader“.
