I often try to avoid pylons when taking photos of views. However I can see they have a certain majestic beauty in the right setting.

Near Staveley.

Given a grain and glow treatment.

Taken along the N2 en route to Somerset West, South Africa. Shot through the car window.

Heading west through the valley towards the Santa Cruz mountains.

Not too sure about this one, the jpeg conversion seems to have resulted in a bit of sharpening that is a bit annoying. Plus I cannot make it look straight even though there was a spirit level on the camera at the time.

But I like pylons.

I guess you don't really need me to tell you that the sun was shining on the pylons as a storm was brewing.

More pylon appreciation.

The sun was at just the right spot to the west and left of the image. It was now casting it's light on both the train and the pylons below that once formed a wooden bridge. I was on the southern shore waiting for the train to pull into position.

I like the word pylon, ever since someone mentioned it in a comment around here I believe and I had to look it up. It has a certain feel to it, genuine and synthetic at the same time. That's all.
