I called this self-torture. It took me a long time to get it right. But after hard work I am somehow very pleased with it. Do I need to see a psychiatrist?
This is amazing x43636754754!! I got it from Thriftstoreuk, along with the owl charm. It's just so pretty and a great size for use as a change purse in my bag.

On Day 42 of this project, I acknowledged my addiction to Coach purses - www.flickr.com/photos/slgc/5436153795/ But I have a good excuse for this one.
I have actually been pretty good about going to Coach in the last 162 days - I've visited the outlets a couple of times when I've had 30% off coupons, but left without making a purchase when I didn't find a bag that really complemented my collection (either a color I didn't have or a size that would be useful). What I really want is a bag that I saw last fall but passed on - a dressy little black purse that would be perfect for going out in the evenings. Every time I go to Coach I hope to find that bag or a similar one again, but so far no luck. But I digress....
Getting back to this bag requires going back to our recent cruise. My husband participated in the ship's poker tournament, and qualified for the final round. I joked with him that if he won the tournament he should buy a piece of jewelry for me as a memento of the trip. Well, my hubby was indeed one of the tournament winners, but when we went shopping on the ship I couldn't find anything that I liked (none of the jewelry struck me as special, and all of it was overpriced). So I suggested that we go to Coach the next time that I get a 30% coupon and make the memento a purse instead of bling. My husband was happy to agree to that.
As if on cue, yesterday I received a 30% Coach coupon in my e-mail. So after a day of settling back in, putting the basement together, etc., we took a trip down to the outlets.
I didn't find the little dressy black purse of my dreams, but I did like this one. It's a good size - large enough for a good amount of items but not so large as to be unwieldy, and it's well designed for convenience. Plus the colors are very different from my other Coach bags - this will go with outfits that my other purses wouldn't go with as well. And the best part was the price - with 50% off plus the 30% coupon, I got a sweet deal on the bag. Basically, if my husband and I decided that we had wanted to go out for a couple of drinks and appetizers, that would have cost more than the bag. So for less money and none of the calories, I have something that I will be able to use for a very long time :)

This is the first bag I've ever made. I wanted a smaller purse-sized bag, so this one is about 5 1/2 " deep and 10 1/2" wide across the bottom. It's perfect to just fit my wallet, phone, and a few other small items. I LOVE it!!
I’d recently been looking for a new bag and wanted to find something unique, but not too expensive… i ended up deciding to customize something for myself! And then someone else wanted one, too, so i decided to share the love and make a few more ninja bags to go out into the world…. take a look at my etsy shop to see what is available!
