Watching a bird taking a shower is always pure joy! I think they love to bath too! This is a saffron finch - wild - at Macuquinho Lodge. Better seen Large.

I have always loved this sculpture and the view through its tweezer-like "pincers". I hadn't previously looked up the artist's description and rationale for the sculpture, however. I finally did so the other day...
“Dialogue” is a public art installation created by multidisciplinary artist Florent Cousineau, located on the upper plaza near the Alexandria Bridge in Ottawa.
“The tall, slender silhouette of the work’s two-part structure contrasts with the strong horizontality of its setting. While the pure lines of these sculptural forms create space for multiple interpretations, their arrangement also evokes an exchange between two monumental figures. Their curves entwine in a movement recalling a pair of witnesses, dancers or sentinels leaning on each other for support. Light sources emanating from within the two figures create a fluid, rhythmic dialogue, inviting us to linger.
Dialogue can be seen on the upper plaza near the Alexandra Bridge in Ottawa until 2021.”

It might not look like much to most people but for me personally this is one of the most beautiful and elegant lenses I‘ve ever seen. I absolutely love the simplicity in design and apart from that this (somewhat rare) 'Hexanon' variant - most likely a 6/4 design - has a wonderful rendering as well.

These look like old time gas pumps, but I believe Pure is a water filtration system. What really caught my eye is the old Royal Crown Cola cooler on the right. Is RC Cola still on the market? I haven’t seen it in many, many years.

Consumerism vs. photo art ?
We are inundated by visual stimuli each time we go to the grocery store to buy a gallon of milk. Is it really all an assault upon us to lure us into purchasing one product over another or is there some art value to the advertisements?
As much as the Pop Art movement was lauded as creating a new way of seeing 'the typical' I never gave it much credence as a vehicle for a paradigm shift. I found it all to be too self serving and quite pretentious.
In my photo, each element and as a whole are carefully chosen and arranged to make my statement one way or another.
Somehow I bypassed this simple, single rose in favour of more colourful blooms but I think that sometimes, less is more.
I headed to Smiths Falls after getting a report from a friend of 133 leaving Dorval early. Well after some unforseen delays it finally made it to Smiths Falls. A thunderstorm was quickly moving in but somehow skirted the falls and hit farther north. With some clear-ish skies behind me this set up the perfect backdrop for the shot. I got lucky yet again with a via getting in the way of things and delaying 133 just long enough for the clouds to move out of the way.
