in the calm streets of portixol, a playful symmetry unfolds as a couple strolls past a rain puddle, unknowingly doubling themselves in its mirror-like surface. the stillness of the water captures every detail of their walk, down to the smallest ripple, as if opening a window to an alternate version of their journey. the black-and-white tones lend a timeless quality, turning an ordinary moment into a subtle narrative of symmetry, reflection, and fleeting connections.

The rain has finally come! Been very dry for 4 months! I shot this photo pre-dawn in downtown Seattle,

was playing around with some puddle shots while we were in Rome on our way to see the Trevi Fountain...a light rain just passed thru so i tried to use the puddles again in trying out some really low POVs, and this one came out OK i think, creating an illussion of two parallel worlds separated by this abyss...hope you guys enjoy your weekend...pls. Keeping to the water theme a bike horn lies in a puddle.

Anonymous bikers passing through my puddle next to the Amstel hotel in Amsterdam...this picture was featured in the first Amsterdam edition of the Time Out Magazine :)))

this is a shot of the city taken along the Goldcoast area of downtown Chicago after some rain went thru the city...always nice to get some decent reflections from the puddles and the beautiful clouds add another wonderful element to the image....pls. View On Black

This photo won the 2nd price in the 'In Love with Amsterdam' contest, yay :D

Thank you all for voting for my picture, much appreciated!

Biker&the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam, shot with a mobile phone cam, reflected in a puddle. I've added a touch of contrast&saturation, no other editing, no Photoshop!

This is also a twin shot of one of my popular pictures, or rather a whole series of them, either I'm running out of ideas or I just really like that building, hahaha ;-D

Here are some of the previous shots of the same spot: 1, 2, 3 and 4...and there are many more where those came from, hehe ;-))

Last night I shot this photo. I want to try again & last time I did was 3 years ago. I try get perfect exposure without blown out highlights. Not easy to control the exposure with lot of city lights & bright clouds while light painting. That was last shot before the wire snapped off my light orb tool. I was going to stop down to increase 1 more f-stop & try again. Oh well. But I think I did great job. Exposure is nice too.

Was raining pretty good here today.

I really liked the texture and pattern combination of the tarmac and reflections of the trees in the puddles.

Used the iPhone and the black and white, square shooting, Contrast app for this one.

Koraki is a tug boat owned by Total Marine Services Ltd, based in Opua where we live. They're a great company specialising in design and build marine construction, dredging, floating structures, fabrication and engineering, and undertake work all over New Zealand. No, I don't work for them but I have huge respect for their work. The Seagull? Well it's just a stand-in to enhance my picture.
