„Macro Monday“ „Soap“

Man nehme: einen kleinen Eierbecher der auf seine Unterseite ein Vertiefung vorweist. Darin fülle man eine Mischung aus Wasser, Zuckersyrup und Glyzerin. Mit einem Strohhalm puste senkrecht in die vorsichtig Flüssigkeit, sobald die Seifenblase die erwünschte Größe erreicht hat beende Deine Aktion. Mit der entsprechenden Umrahmung, einer diffusen Lichtquell von oben kannst Du nun Deine Seifenblase fotografieren. Bewegung innerhalb der Luftblase erreichst Du indem Du seitlich sehr sanft mit Deinem Strohhalm in Richtung Seifenblase pustest. Voila, hier das Ergebnis!

Take: a small egg cup with a depression on its underside. Fill it with a mixture of water, sugar syrup and glycerine. Blow vertically into the liquid with a straw. As soon as the bubble has reached the desired size, stop the action. With the appropriate framing, a diffuse source of light from above, you can now photograph your soap bubble. You can achieve movement within the bubble by blowing very gently with your straw in the direction of the bubble. Voila, here is the result!

Prenez : un petit coquetier qui présente une dépression sur sa face inférieure. Remplissez-le d'un mélange d'eau, de sirop de sucre et de glycérine. Avec une paille, soufflez verticalement dans le liquide avec précaution, dès que la bulle de savon a atteint la taille souhaitée, terminez votre action. Avec un cadrage approprié et une source de lumière diffuse provenant du haut, vous pouvez maintenant photographier votre bulle de savon. Vous obtenez un mouvement dans la bulle en soufflant très doucement avec votre paille en direction de la bulle. Voilà, le résultat est là !

The great spotted woodpecker occurs in all types of woodlands and is catholic in its diet, being capable of extracting seeds from pine cones, insect larvae from inside trees or eggs and chicks of other birds from their nests. It breeds in holes excavated in living or dead trees, unlined apart from wood chips. The typical clutch is four to six glossy white eggs. Both parents incubate the eggs, feed the chicks and keep the nest clean. When the young fledge they are fed by the adults for about ten days, each parent taking responsibility for feeding part of the brood.

 

The great spotted woodpecker occurs in Eurasia from the British Isles to Japan, and in North Africa from Morocco to Tunisia, and it is absent only from those areas too cold or dry to have suitable woodland habitat. It is found in a wide variety of woodlands, broadleaf, coniferous or mixed, and in modified habitats like parks, gardens and olive groves. It occurs from sea-level to the tree line, up to 2,000 m (6,600 ft) in Europe, 2,200 m (7,200 ft) in Morocco and 2,500 m (8,200 ft) in Central Asia.

 

The great spotted woodpecker became extinct in the island of Ireland in the seventeenth century, due to deforestation, but the island was naturally recolonised by this species, with the first proven nesting in County Down in 2007. Its expansion in range is continuing, with breeding proven or suspected in at least 10 counties by 2013, with the main concentration in Down and County Wicklow. Genetic evidence shows the birds to be of British, rather than Scandinavian, ancestry, with the populations in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic having separate origins. The great spotted woodpecker was also found to have been nesting in the Isle of Man from 2009.

Percorrendo la bellissima SS125, provenendo da sud, dopo aver superato l’abitato di Baunei si raggiunge tra il 177 e 178 km il valico di Genna e Cruxi (910 m. s.l.m.). A questo punto si devia a sinistra percorrendo una stretta strada asfaltata che si snoda nel primo tratto in un altissimo terrazzo naturale da cui si gode di un’ampia veduta della vallata su cui venne realizzato l’abitato di Urzulei. Proseguendo lungo la medesima strada si raggiunge il guado sul rio Sa Codula e poi si imbocca una strada sterrata che costeggia la riva sinistra del suddetto corso d’acqua sino al raggiungimento di una fontana. A questo punto è consigliabile parcheggiare l’automobile e percorrere a piedi la strada sterrata che risale sulla sinistra. Arrivati ad una sorta di terrazza naturale si osservano due tombe di giganti (1.800 -1100 a.C.) lunghe 15,5m e 13,5m sprovviste di copertura poste in un sito ambientale e paesaggistico di rilievo.

Dead Vlei ou "marais mort" est une cuvette d'argile blanche. Cet ancien marais est entouré des dunes les plus élevées du monde, dont la « Big Daddy » qui culmine à 350 mètres. Suite à des inondations provenant d'une rivière détournée, des acacias du désert y ont poussé et se sont pétrifiés au fil du temps par manque d'eau et par la formation des dunes.

The lookout deck had proven to be a great vantage point from which to photograph the waterfowl. Thankfully, it was a calm morning so I did not have to contend with waves on the water.

 

I lied prone on the deck to photograph this particular individual and was ready with the camera's setting when it took off.

The combination of the takeoff action, shot from low angle viewpoint, and the overall warm colour tone make for an appealing image, and the little water splashes bring it all to life.

The blue color has been proven in many ways to be relaxing, especially since the sky, the water reflects this color and has a calming effect on us. Here you see a blue rose...hope it makes you all relaxed! HMM!

La BB 67616 est vue dans la célèbre rampe des Sauvages en tête d'une rame Corail sur le train 789955 en provenance de Clermont Ferrand.

 

Un beau retour 12/15 ans en arrière quand ces compositions assuraient régulièrement la relation Clermont - Lyon. Mais ce coup ci, les deux premières voitures sortent de révisions aux ACC et rejoignent leur centre de gérance, Chambéry.

Comme ce fut le cas pour un grand nombre d’édifices les plus représentatifs de Marrakech, le palais qui s’élevait sur le terrain du Jardin Secret fut détruit à la fin du 17ème siècle, après le déclin de la dynastie saadienne. Vers la moitié du 19ème siècle, le caïd Al Hajj Abd Allah U Bihi fit édifié un nouveau palais, dont le tracé respectait l’ancien. Le palais passa par la suite entre les mains de plusieurs sultans et hommes politiques du Maroc.

Le « Jardin Secret » s’étend sur une superficie de 4.000 mètres carrés avec notamment une tour de 17 mètres et deux jardins; le premier respectant les spécificités du jardin islamique, le second étant un jardin exotique, il rassemble des plantes provenant des 5 continents.

En provenance de la région Parisienne, la 67470 traverse les vignobles Charentais annonçant le terminus à Saintes. La VB 2n ira en entretien au technicentre

En provenance du tombeau d'une reine. Si les tombeaux des pharaons étaient toujours richement ornés, ce n'était pas le cas des femmes de sa famille, seules quelques unes, particulièrement aimées, mères, filles, ou "épouses royales" avaient cet honneur.

Provenendo da sud, prima di accedere all’abitato di Baunei (all’altezza del km 153) si svolta a destra in direzione di Sa Pedra Longa, un’imponente formazione rocciosa a picco sul mare. Mentre si percorre la panoramica strada sulla sinistra si osserva maestosa una formazione montuosa-collinare che prende il nome di Punta Su Mulone. Se si prosegue ulteriormente si raggiunge una piazzola panoramica da cui si gode di un panorama fantastico sulla costa dominata da Sa Pedra Longa chiamata anche Sa Perda Longa.

En provenance d'Ambérieu-en-Bugey, ce train commence à enchaîner les courbes et contre courbes le long du Rhône entre Anglefort et Bellegarde-sur-Valserine.

Jusqu'à Publier, son terminus, la locomotive de pousse n'est pas nécessaire puisque ce train est vide.

Mais elle le sera indispensable lors du retour avec un train chargé d'eau, et surtout cette configuration facilite les manœuvres sur le faisceau encombré de la société des eaux d'Evian.

 

En provenance de Paris, ce TGV Duplex est vu après avoir rebroussé chemin en gare d'Annemasse.

Sur fond enneigé du sommet Suisse de la Dôle (1677 mètres d'altitude) il remonte maintenant la vallée de l'Arve afin de se diriger vers son terminus Saint Gervais les Bains - Le Fayet.

Quelques années plus tard, des travaux de suppression du passage à niveau situé derrière le TGV ont totalement métamorphosé les lieux.

Et depuis cette photo le nombre de TGV Duplex en livrée Atlantique n'a fait que diminuer au profit de la livrée Carmillon appliquée lors du passage des rames en rénovation.

 

Blocs de calcaire provenant du tombeau du général Iwrky. Celui-ci avait servi sous les ordres du père de Ramsès II, Sethi I, avant d'être promu commandant de l'armée égyptienne par Ramsès.

 

Le bloc du centre représente le pharaon terrassant trois des ennemis de l'Egypte, un Syrien, un Nubien et un Lybian.

 

À l'instar d'autres personnages historiques dont la gloire a traversé les siècles, Ramsès II est réputé pour être un grand guerrier et conquérant, ce qui lui vaut en grande partie l'épithète de "Grand" dans les ouvrages historiques traitant de cette période de l'Antiquité égyptienne. Il lutte contre les Hittites et, assurant la domination de l'Égypte sur la Nubie et ses gisements aurifères, il y construit de nombreux temples dont ceux d'Abou Simbel. Après la bataille de Qadesh en l'an IV de son règne contre l'armée Hittite de Muwatalli II, la frontière sur l'Oronte est stabilisée.

E' da parecchio tempo (anni) che desidero assistere ad una scena simile e, nel contempo, avere la possibilità' di riprenderla; ed ecco che, all'improvviso, la costanza è stata premiata.

Purtroppo lo scatto si è dimostrato non facilissimo per diversi motivi; 1) il posatoio non parallelo al PDR 2) l'estrema vicinanza dello stesso ( 3,45m) 3) non ultimo il sole ci ha messo lo zampino ed ha pensato bene di nascondersi poco prima dell'arrivo dei soggetti.

La difficolta' piu' grande la limitatissima profondità' di campo.

Ho deciso mi rimanere su una lunghezza focale di 200 mm e di usare un f 11 per avere circa 5cm di PDF sia front che back.

La poca luce ha limitato la MF in considerazione anche del fatto che l'arancione del martino spesso tende ad impastare.

La scena si è ripetuta 2/3 volte permettendomi di assistere ad un evento che mi ha entusiasmato.

Is a long time (years) that I would like to see a similar scene, but at the same time have the opportunity ' to take it; Lo and behold, suddenly, perseverance was rewarded.

Unfortunately the shot has proven no brainer for several reasons; 1) the roost not parallel to the PDR 2) the proximity of the same (3, 45 m) 3) not least the Sun took a hand and has seen fit to hide just before the arrival of the subjects.

 

The difficulty very limited depth-of-field bigger.

I decided I stay on a focal length of 200 mm and to use a f 11 to have about 5 cm of PDF both front and back.

The little light has limited MF into consideration of the fact that the orange of martino often tends to knead.

The scene is repeated 2/3 times allowing me to attend an event that wowed me.

Un jardin rempli de couleurs en provenance du monde entier.

Le parc a été créé en 1965 par Peter Wolkonsky, peintre et grand amateur de jardins à l'anglaise.

En 2021, le parc a changé de propriétaire. Le célèbre créateur de mode, Christian Louboutin en a fait son havre de paix. Les jardins restent ouverts au public en semaine .

C'était le 10 Février, mais dimanche dernier, les températures étaient encore négatives dans la Capitale. Une semaine plus tard, ça parait loin, pourtant !

 

L'ARC DE TRIOMPHE DU CARROUSEL : Édifié entre 1806 et 1808, il célèbre la victoire de la Grande Armée de Napoléon Bonaparte à Austerlitz. Dessiné par Charles Percier et Pierre Fontaine, il illustre la campagne de 1805 et la capitulation d'Ulm le 20 octobre 1805. C'est une copie à échelle réduite de l'Arc de Constantin (313-315) à Rome, ce dernier s'inspirant lui-même des arcs de Septime-Sévère. Les sujets des bas-reliefs illustrant les batailles ont été choisis par le directeur du musée Napoléon (situé à l'époque au palais du Louvre), Vivant Denon, et dessiné par Charles Meynier. Le quadrige surmontant l'arc est une copie des Chevaux de Saint-Marc, attelage ornant le dessus de la porte principale de la basilique Saint-Marc de Venise et provenant du pillage de Constantinople.

Imagine my surprise when I showed up to work, and the night train to Milwaukee had the executive E9's for the power on this evening. The E9's had some work done and were put to the test on our train. Needless to say they performed rather nicely.

We had better get a move on, as a summer storm is rolling in quickly from the west.

En provenance de Bourg-Saint-Maurice, le dernier Ouigo de la saison d'hiver 2021/2022 approche d'Albertville où il marquera un arrêt d'une quinzaine de minutes avant de repartir dans le sens contraire de son arrivée.

C'est la dernière rame TGV de cette série qui mènera ce train vers son terminus Roissy-Aéroport-Charles-De-Gaulle-2.

Rathaus underground station in Cologne, Germany

  

A pleasing contrast of midnight blue and silvery gleam

  

When completed, the new north–south suburban railway line in Cologne will have eight stops. While the last stretch of the line is scheduled to come into operation in 2016, Rathaus station has already proven itself fit for everyday operation. Located directly beneath the historic market, Rathaus underground station provides quick and convenient access to the centre of Cologne's historic Altstadt (old town) district, which was previously only accessible by bus.

  

The station, covering almost 3,000 m², lies 16 metres below ground. Its design is characterised by a fresh contrast of midnight blue and silver. A large proportion of the wall area is velvety-smooth blue, while the ceilings and certain sections of the walls are a shiny silver. The walls and ceilings are clad in hot-dip galvanised and powdercoated steel sheet modules, which are perforated in the ceiling area so that they also absorb sound.

  

Above the entrances, main traffic areas and footpaths throughout the station, WE-EF DOC240 recessed exterior downlights ensure excellent visibility and safety as well as aid orientation. The luminaires had to be integrated into various building situations – either installed in circular sections of the expanded metal ceilings or combined with an installation tube and mounted directly on the concrete ceilings. The DOC240 downlights in the underground station have proven to be versatile, not just in terms of the installation and mounting options, but also in relation to lighting techniques.

  

While the stairways and escalators are illuminated from a relatively high position, the height between floors in the main traffic areas is rather low. With different light sources in varying wattages – in this case HIT and CFL lamps, and two symmetric light distributions [M] medium and [EE] very narrow beam – the WE-EF luminaires provide exactly the right amount of light for the unique spaces.

  

All DOC240 downlights used in this project are fitted with vibration protection in order to extend their service life. Luminaires mounted at especially high installation positions are equipped with a device to lower the luminaire to facilitate ease of maintenance.

Percorso Portovenere - Riomaggiore.

Dopo circa otto ore di cammino, dalle 9 del mattino, all'ultimo non c'era neppure più il tempo di scattare una foto : i miei compagni volevano prendere il treno delle 18.

Io avrei voluto prendermela più comoda, camminare con più tranquillità, magari prendendo il treno successivo, anche da sola . Non è stato possibile : i responsabili della gita non possono lasciarti sola.

Après la destruction du massif occidental et des quatre premières travées de la nef de l'église à partir de 1832, une partie du décor sculpté a été recueillie par le musée de Soissons. Le tympan illustrant la Descente aux limbes et l'Enfer (inv. 93.7.2492) était jusqu'alors encastré dans le mur de la tribune de l'orgue, mais il ornait probablement à l'origine un des portails latéraux de la façade occidentale. Le traitement pittoresque de l'Enfer rappelle les scènes de même sujet provenant du jubé de la cathédrale de Bourges, probablement contemporain, mais avec une plus grande intensité dramatique. La procession des damnés et la figure du Christ, en revanche, sont représentées avec plus de rigueur qui annonce les figures du jubé de Notre-Dame de Paris, daté de la deuxième décennie du 14e siècle. Le manque de cohérence entre les deux scènes, formées de blocs découpés et assemblés à une époque récente, peut laisser penser à une autre origine, comme un jubé. Comme l'ensemble du décor sculpté original de l'ancienne église abbatiale Saint-Yved, le tympan se place dans la mouvance stylistique de la cathédrale de Laon, caractéristique de la manière classique des années 1200.

Le héron garde-bœufs a peu de prédateurs, mais des oiseaux ou des mammifères peuvent piller son nid, les poussins peuvent mourir de faim, de carence en calcium ou de perturbation par d'autres grands oiseaux. En 1943 les Allemands commencèrent à construire un site de lancement pour les fusées V-1 dans un champs au Sud-Est de Cherbourg. Un certain nombre de ces bases simples furent construites dans le Nord de la France. Ces bases recevaient leurs fusées et autres approvisionnements par voie ferrée en provenance des sites de production. Une fois réceptionnées à la base elles étaient préparées et tirées le long d'une rampe de lancement en béton dirigée contre l'Angleterre. La conception simple, basique et de petite taille de ces bases était un choix délibéré de la part des Allemands afin d'éviter d'attirer l'attention des bombardiers Alliés,

 

Le V-1 étant dépourvu de système de guidage à distance, la rampe elle même devait devait être dirigée directement vers la cible. La rampe de Mesnil au Val pointait directement vers Bristol à 230 km. de là. La distance de la rampe à la cible était primordiale car le V-1 plongeait vers le sol soit en arrivant à court de carburant, soit quand une minuterie coupait l'arrivée de carburant. Le système était simple mais pas très précis. En plus de la rampe en béton, le site comportait 3 garages légèrement incurvés à leur extrémité ce qui vu du ciel, les faisait ressembler à des skis. Ces sites étaient surnommés par les pilotes Alliés «sites de ski».

 

Après le Débarquement de Normandie en Juin 1944, le site de lancement du Mesnil-Au-Val se trouvant derrière les lignes ennemies, aucun V-1 ne put être tiré contre Bristol.

1952 Jaguar C Type

The Jaguar C-Type (officially called the Jaguar XK120-C) is a racing sports car built by Jaguar and sold from 1951 to 1953. The "C" stands for "competition".

 

The car combined the running gear of the contemporary, road-proven XK120, with a lightweight tubular frame designed by Jaguar Chief Engineer William Heynes, and an aerodynamic aluminium body, jointly developed by William Heynes, R J (Bob) Knight and later Malcolm Sayer. A total of 53 C-Types were built, 43 of which were sold to private owners, mainly in the US.

The road-going XK120’s 3.4-litre twin-cam, straight-6 engine produced between 160 and 180 bhp (134 kW). The C-Type version was originally tuned to around 205 bhp (153 kW). The early C-Types were fitted with SU carburettors and drum brakes. Later C-Types, produced from mid 1953, were more powerful, using triple twin-choke Weber carburettors and high-lift camshafts. They were also lighter, and braking performance was improved by using disc brakes on all four wheels. The lightweight, multi-tubular, triangulated frame was designed by Heynes. Heynes, Knight and Sayer together developed the aerodynamic body. Made of aluminium in the barchetta style, it was devoid of road-going items such as carpets, weather equipment and exterior door handles. According to the Jaguar Heritage Registry, the cars were produced between May 1952, starting with XKC001, and ending in August 1953 with XK054. The original alloy body was marked with the prefix K (e.g. K1037).

The C-Type was successful in racing, most notably at the Le Mans 24 hours race, which it won twice.

 

In 1951, the car won at its first attempt. The factory entered three, whose driver pairings were Stirling Moss and Jack Fairman, Leslie Johnson and triple Mille Miglia winner Clemente Biondetti, and the eventual winners, Peter Walker and Peter Whitehead. The Walker-Whitehead car was the only factory entry to finish, the other two retiring with lack of oil pressure. A privately entered XK120, owned by Robert Lawrie, co-driven by Ivan Waller, also completed the race, finishing 11th.

 

In 1952, Jaguar, worried by a report about the speed of the Mercedes-Benz 300SLs that would run at Le Mans, modified the C-Type’s aerodynamics to increase the top speed. However, the consequent rearrangement of the cooling system made the cars vulnerable to overheating, and all three retired from the race. The Peter Whitehead-Ian Stewart and Tony Rolt/Duncan Hamilton cars blew head gaskets, and the Stirling Moss-Peter Walker car, the only one not overheating having had a full-sized radiator hurriedly fitted, lost oil pressure after a mechanical breakage.[3] Testing by Norman Dewis at MIRA after the race proved that the overheating was caused more by the revisions to the cooling system than by the altered aerodynamics: the water pump pulley was undersized, so it was spinning too fast and causing cavitation; also the header tank was in front of the passenger-side bulkhead, far from the radiator, and the tubing diameter was too small at 7/8 inch. With the pump pulley enlarged, and the tubing increased to 1 1/4 inch, the problem was eliminated. The main drawback of the new body shape was that it reduced downforce on the tail to the extent that it caused lift and directional instability at speeds over 120 mph (193 km/h) on the Mulsanne Straight. These cars had chassis numbers XKC 001, 002 and 011. The first two were dismantled at the factory, and the third survives in normal C-type form.

 

In 1953, C-Types won again, and also placed second and fourth.[4] This time the body was in thinner, lighter aluminium and the original twin H8 sand cast SU carburettors were replaced by three DCO3 40mm Webers, which helped boost power to 220 bhp (164 kW). Philip Porter mentions additional changes:

 

Further weight was saved by using a rubber bag fuel tank ... lighter electrical equipment and thinner gauge steel for some of the chassis tubes ... [T]he most significant change to the cars were the triple Weber carburetors and [switch to] disc brakes.

 

Duncan Hamilton and Tony Rolt won the race at 105.85 mph (170.35 km/h) – the first time Le Mans had been won at an average of over 100 miles per hour (161 km/h).

 

Disc brakes were novel in 1953, and Jaguar's win, partly due to their superiority, set off a scramble to include discs in production cars.

 

1954, the C-Type's final year at Le Mans, saw a fourth place by the Ecurie Francorchamps entry driven by Roger Laurent and Jacques Swaters.

Passage à Loudrefing de cette UM de rames TGV POS, encore en livrée Lacroix, sur un train Zürich - Paris. En 2009, les TGV en provenance de Bâle ou Zürich transitent encore par Strasbourg, et les lignes 1 et 3 pour regagner Baudrecourt et la LGV Est fraichement mise en service. Depuis, les TGV Lyria empruntent la LGV Rhin-Rhône pour rejoindre Dijon et la capitale Française.

La 15012 fait route vers Strasbourg avec l'IC ECO 1001 en provenance de la capitale Française. Contrairement aux apparences, le convoi ne circule pas sur une ligne à voie unique mais bien sur la Ligne 1, sur le tronçon où les deux voies de circulation se séparent l'espace d'un instant, au niveau des anciens saut-de-moutons de Marainviller, datant de l'époque où la section Blainville - Sarrebourg de la Ligne 1 était à 4 voies. Les 3ème et 4ème voies ont été démontées durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, réquisitionnées lors de l'occupation Allemande pour des besoins vers l'Europe de l'Est.

En provenance de Saint Gervais, la Z 9620 blasonée franchi la belle courbe et contre courbe de Chevrier. Elle changera de département dans quelques instants pour atteindre rapidement son terminus, Bellegarde-sur-Valserine.

L'année suivante les AGC avaient repris l'intégralité des TER circulant sur l'axe Bellegarde - Annemasse.

Percorrendo la bellissima SS125, provenendo da sud, dopo aver superato l’abitato di Baunei si raggiunge tra il 177 e 178 km il valico di Genna e Cruxi (910 m. s.l.m.). A questo punto si devia a sinistra percorrendo una stretta strada asfaltata che si snoda nel primo tratto in un altissimo terrazzo naturale da cui si gode di un’ampia veduta della vallata su cui venne realizzato l’abitato di Urzulei. Proseguendo lungo la medesima strada si possono raggiungere delle mete turistiche importanti come le tombe di giganti di Is Arenas e la località di Sedda Ar Baccas da dove è possibile accedere al tratto meridionale del canyon di Su Gorroppu.
