Lake Koocanusa was completed in 1972 as a joint project between the United States and Canada in an effort to provide flood protection and to generate hydroelectric power. The Kootenai River fluctuated wildly in the spring causing flooding in Montana, Idaho and British Columbia. Lake Koocanusa received its name in a contest to name the Libby Dam reservoir. Alice Beers, from Rexford, Montana, combined the first three letters from KOOtenai River, and the first three letters of CANada and USA.

90-mile long Lake Koocanusa reservoir is held back by 422 foot tall Libby Dam, located 16 miles upstream from the town of Libby. The dam provides flood protection and hydroelectric power. The lake offers a multitude of recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, lakeshore camping, and picnicking.

For those who know me, you also know my opinion about the use of camo attire. For those who don’t and deem the expenditure of time worth the effort, check out this link: `www.flickr.com/photos/earl_reinink/5385999488/in/album-72...

Since God is no longer in control, we now bow to the whims and will of our elected officials who have deemed that social distancing is the new norm. Glad I am married! How does one date the woman of his dreams from 2 metres? Try being intimate from that distance! Good luck having kids… Darn, I am off topic.

I have seen many images on social media, people wearing masks, scarves, hankies and diapers over the face, and even one fool with a plastic bag over his head (he certainly won’t die of virus, but will probably die of stupidity or asphyxiation)!

I decided to do my part. I dug into my camo closet and came up with this solution to the shortage of face masks. It comes with many benefits. For example, yesterday I managed to slip into first place in line-up at a busy store, no one saw me. Got to the toilet paper first, bought a one-year supply, cleaned out the hand sanitizer selection, stocked up on Vodka (in the event I ran out of sanitizer). Threw a camo tarp over buggy on the way out, managed to get to truck un-noticed.

Merits of said attire:

1. Readily available at Bass Pro for just a few loonies.

2. Reversible in case one snots in their mask

3. Washable / re-usable

4. Undetectable - feel free to roam in your favored park or attend Easter service.

5. No need to do hair or make-up (that's for women, Ramen, Chuck and John).

6. Water-proof model provides airborne spray protection.
