A good photowalk from 14:30 to 18:30. I'll try to do as many photowalks as I can because it's a great opportunity to photograph and explore the city I'll stay for a few more years.

In Brazilian popular culture, Sansevieria trifasciata (known as Saint George's sword) is used to ward off the evil eye. No surprise to see it planted in such abundance around this exposed window corner next to the elevated highway known as "Minhocão". The leaves are actually bi-colour: green with yellow stripes along the edges. They look light grey in this photo because it was taken with an infrared-converted camera.

Well, although tagged so, this photo was not actually taken at the Todai-ji, but at one of the temples on the way to the Todai-ji, but I don't recall which one.
Bon, contrairement à ce qu'indique le tag, cette photo n'a pas été prise au Todai-ji, mais à l'un des temples sur le chemin qui mène au Todai-ji, mais je ne me rappelle plus lequel.

These flood protection gates are a crucial component of Tokyo's infrastructure, given the city's susceptibility to flooding due to its location and urban development. The gates are engineered to regulate the flow of water in the Sumidagawa River, preventing overflow and minimizing the impact of flooding on surrounding areas. Their design and construction have evolved over time, incorporating advanced technologies and engineering principles to enhance their effectiveness and resilience. The history of these flood protection measures dates back decades, with continuous upgrades and improvements to address changing environmental conditions and urban development patterns in Tokyo.
