Another shot from the Felbrigg Estate as the mist receded for awhile. There seemed to be endless compositions with these trees, protected from sheep by the wooden slats dotted about.
This is in a Provincial Park, where they can't really control active beavers like they do on private property, and so they can only control their damage with structures like this. By protecting an important drainage channel with these, beaver can't dam it, and the water can get closer to where it needs to go expeditiously...

The tree seems to be leaning back, spreading its arms and protecting the woodland floor. This is a composition I will return to.

Time & circumstance can make the most amazing changes. I think this bloke was a roadie or security at the gig. Only one person was going to mess with him.
There are some harsh realities in nature. This mama bear had three cute spring cubs just last week. Unfortunately, she lost two of them just a few days ago when a boar ate them. These days, mama and her lone surviving cub are weary of every moment around them. You can really see the sadness in their eyes. Our group was very lucky to spend some time with them yesterday.
