An ultrasound probe is inserted into the rectum to check the prostate. The probe bounces sound waves off body tissues to make echoes that form a sonogram (computer picture) of the prostate.

The picture above shows roughly where my bone cancer has spread to thus far. I asked my doctor at ARI if she could send me my result pictures by e-mail: not allowed. I asked if I could take a screen capture of her computer screen: not allowed. So me and my wife have marked as well as both of us can remember what we were shown yesterday (8th March 2017) on to a 'stock' skeleton picture. It appears that the hormone therapy that I was on, failed to do its job. I now have approx. six months left. My bone cancer is in the whole left side of my pelvis, spotted through my ribs, breast bone and at the base of my neck.
Because I have the added complication of Huntington's disease it was decided that I would not be operated on. I made the decision not to have chemotherapy, but I will be getting a few blasts of radiotherapy. I declined the offer of another CT scan, because I know that time on that machine is precious and I won't live any longer by having another one. I'd rather let someone else get the use of it.
The 2018 Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride. Meet at Devonshire Green, Sheffield prior to the ride out to Matlock and the Peak District on Vintage machines to raise money for Prostate Cancer and Male Mental Health charities.
Here Dr. McGuire and a patient are sitting in a very blank room. I looked around for a better area. The hallways were a possibility, but there were exit signs everywhere and the ends of the hallways weren't that attractive. So I decided to just stick with the blank white walls of the exam room. I was happy the patient was wearing a blue shirt as it added color to the shots.

This year I'm participating in the 10k run for BC Cancer Foundation's The Underwear Affair! Our team is the G-String team. God... I hope that doesn't mean I'll be wearing one running down the street of Vancouver.... That would be some sight wouldn't it? :)
Whatever outfit I'll end up wearing there will be pictures!!! It's all in an effort to help uncover a cure for cancers below the waist, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, colon cancer... we need to do something big so that we can kick these diseases to the curb for our future generations!
Thousands of excited people are going to go the distance in whatever state of dress or undress they want, in either the 10K run or the 5K walk. It's going to be a lot of fun, and it all benefits a great cause.
Visit my site and if you can, take the time to support this cause. Cancers can affect all of us and we should do something about it.

As recommended by my Healthcare Proxy, a 42-year veteran NYC Hospitals Registered Nurse
-
Ask the phlebotomist to have your blood drawn at alternating sites to avoid scarring your vessel/vein when drawing the blood from the same. Apply direct pressure for 2 minutes immediately to the puncture site to avoid bruising and cover it with band-aid.
Chemo infusion can be hard on the vessels and should also be administered at alternating arms and different vessels. It’s ideal that the IV access for Chemo should be started from the distal part of your arm (like the hand or above the wrist) and Avoid over a bent of the arm, which can limit your movement and bending the limb can cause “extravasation of Chemo into your tissues”, leaking of Chemo resulting to swelling and pain.
-
Per this recommendation, my infusions were on alternating arms each time. And I've no scarring as a result.

The individual's whom work in the Infusion Center are the most professional people. And it's so comforting. And they're all women and they are all awesome.
BIG SHOUT OUT TO YOU GIRLS!!!
