I am participating in November and here is my progress documented using the Movember iPhone App.
Comments: The second week is ending and I see some progress, but slower hair growth than I am used to.
Taken from their website:
"The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.
Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days."

Naked Man the Isle of man TT races to promote his important campaign, raising awareness and reduce embarrassment of prostate cancer
I've been 'given' another day
To lie in peace under the x-ray
Apparently I've put on some weight
Must be all those cakes I've ate.
The oncologist explained the dose,
It's that extra layer of fat I suppose,
The beam loses strength as it passes through,
So an extra dose is due.
And then I have to wait patiently
To see what the radiation has done to me.
Killed the cancer stone dead?
Or will it be back to haunt me instead?
So it's down to me now: to live at my pace
And love my love with all my passion and grace.

Comments: Oops, I missed a day. It happens. :)

Staff with a 'stache... NHB/NMRTC Bremerton staff members showed their support for the annual 'Movember' mustache movement to help increase awareness and educate others on men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. Even for those clean-shaven, a prostate cancer exam is a covered service by TRICARE, which includes screenings. Eligible beneficiary are encouraged to discuss the benefits/risks associated with their provider. Why? Because there is statistical evidence for this awareness campaign. Prostate cancer is the second most common form of cancer in American males, trailing only skin cancer. The odds increase of getting prostate cancer as a man gets older. The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be approximately 268, 500 new cases of prostate cancer in 2022, resulting in 34,500 fatalities. Do the math. That's almost one in eight new cases that doesn't make it (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs). www.dvidshub.net/news/434297/facial-follicles-promotes-mo...

These guys were sporting some home made costumes that looked very awesome and were fund raising for the fight against prostate cancer.
Dr. Juan Reyna's wife Joni announced that she and her husband are establishing a charitable foundation whose mission is to promote prostate cancer awareness and provide patient support. The foundation will be called “Los Padres” or “The Fathers” in recognition of all of the men affected by prostate cancer. Joni Reyna explained that both she and her husband’s fathers had cancer when they died. The couple views their work with the foundation as a tribute to their dads.
In 2013, Los Padres and Urology San Antonio will collaborate with the national nonprofit organization ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer – to sponsor the first prostate cancer awareness and fundraising run in San Antonio.

Oh look, they're at it again. Now we have a doctor/ patient thing going with mustaches for the Movember prostate cancer awareness campaign. Nice to see the submissive one without handcuffs (pawcuffs?) or other restraints. Maybe they're just going after a sex toy they lost...
I'd be a little concerned if my doctor was wearing a strap-on myself. Enough of that...

The toll of seven straight prostate brachytherapy cases (radioactive seed implants) shows on the face of the urologist (left) and surgical tech (right)
Basically we started at 7 in the morning and finished by 4 in the afternoon. The first few cases went fine but I could tell towards the end that people had started getting tired. This scared me, because I saw it in the radiation oncologist's face and motion. The radiation oncologist is on the left edge of the right foto. He's the one that actually implants the seeds. All the seeds were I-125 (I= Iodine).
The other way I knew they were getting tired is they didn't stop me from taking these fotos. This is actually in the surgery room.
