A crazy little pump that sucks the puss from the main wound.

On the left of this container you can easily see the puss collecting in the reservoir. This is on a window sill in my garden room.

Yesterday I was so weak I could not walk to the pond , today we went for a walk around - about 400-500 metres I estimate then later in the evening remembered i had not done my daily walk around the lounge room - had the ipod on random play so never knew what music would pop up - Alenka chose the moment between tracks to try to record my "dance of joy " LOL

The sandals and socks plus made me a bit unstable so had to go to socks only - not my finest moment on stage but just wanted to show it is not all doom and gloom im Penguin. We "danced " for about 5 minutes before Alenka decided to grab the camera bu it was pretty dark inside. Just having a bit of fun

Hubby's home after a brief hospital stay, and has to wear post-surgery compression stockings for a couple of weeks.

We've dubbed them 'the Devil's pop socks' - if you've ever had to wear them you'll know why...

Back to Roxburghe for an impromptu blood transfusion.

This particular pump seemed to do nothing but 'beep'. It was extremely annoying. I quickly noticed that the time between the beep starting and someone coming to re-set the pump grew greater. I also learned that each time re-set was pressed it added time to the procedure. As usual with much of our NHS services, we appeared to be lacking hands on, nurses. Before I arrived for my transfusion, I had been given an idea of how long it would take. With my pump playing up the way it was and with time flying by, I announced to the nurses that I would be leaving the ward by such and such a time, no matter how the pump was faring. All the way through the procedure, I was jokingly being blamed for the rubbish performance of the pump. Just in case the pump was out of calibration or some such, I photographed a label on the back of it. The label turned out to be insignificant. Within 30-mins of the end of the appointment, I was given permission to reset the pump myself. Anyway, I managed to leave the ward very close to the time that had been suggested to me with pretty much all the blood inside me. Thank you very much, Roxburghe again!

Try our simple, tasty and healthy lunch after an hour of cardio and strength training. Yes, of course it’s vegan. We layered toasted double fiber whole grain bread with traditional hummus, organic avocados and slightly warmed organic tomatoes. The heat within the tomatoes helps release the antioxidant lycopene which in turn protects against prostate cancer in men. We served with a Japanese sweet potato and a medley of sautéed collard greens, spinach, kale, beets, onions and Shiitake mushrooms. So, this meal covers each macronutrient including healthy fats, complex cards and plant-based protein. Eat clean and enjoy!
