Getting my photo done early with my breakfast prep. Today we had spinach, tomato and feta cheese omelettes with some of our farm fresh eggs! They were delicious!

Good morning everyone. And you guessed it, another video from yours truly. What prompted me to post this is a comment yesterday by flickr friend Randy, where he stated..."that hawthorn tree must be getting woodpeckered to death by now?" Which is clearly the case, and mostly by Northern Flickers as seen in this video.
While all woodpeckers peck at the tree to some degree, none of them come close to how much Northern Flickers do. Which is surprising since Northern Flickers, unlike other woodpeckers, frequently feed on the ground in search of insects. My guess is versus them foraging for insects they're either sharpening their bills, or keeping them clean by chiseling at the tree bark.
As for the video, it's a little over 60 seconds long and was taken this past Thursday (1/5) when snowing. You can't help but notice how "fluffed" up the bird is, which was due to it being only 15 degrees at the time. As for me...it's was the coldest day I ever ventured outdoors for "snowbird" pics. But I couldn't resist taking advantage of the falling snow in spite of the frigid cold.

Did you know the Coton de Tuléar is also known as the Royal Dog of Madagascar, because at one time only the nobility were allowed to own them? They are said to have ‘hair’ rather than fur like other dogs because of its soft, cottony feel and they seldom develop any smell, even when wet!

My Creative 52 prompt this week was "Budget". I had to take a photo using props that cost me less than $20. Seeing as I don't use props very often (unless you count toys) this wasn't a hard challenge for me as I don't tend to get carried away buying extra "stuff". In this case, I borrowed a friend's bubble maker so technically my prop was free, but even if I had bought it, I imagine I would have come out on budget.
I've been dying to try bubbles for a long time. In the future, I won't choose a cold, snowy day. The bubbles started to freeze in the air and within a few minutes the bubble mixture got too cold and it stopped making bubbles all together. But this is definitely something I'll need to try again.
