A drawing pin (in British English) or thumb tack (in North American English) is a short nail or pin used to fasten items to a wall or board for display and intended to be inserted by hand, usually using the thumb. A variety of names is used to refer to different designs intended for various purposes.
Thumb tacks made of brass, tin or iron may be referred to as brass tacks, brass pins, tin tacks or iron tacks, respectively. These terms are particularly used in the idiomatic expression to come (or get) down to brass (or otherwise) tacks, meaning to consider basic facts of a situation.
The height of the Thumbtack is 8 mm !

#macromondays #shadow
The latest #macromondays challenge prompts me to share this picture with you. It shows a ring, a ring that my mother-in-law wore so often. She once received it from her husband during a vacation together in Spain as she used to love wearing rings. For any vacation she received a ring from her husband. Both are no longer with us today. But every time I take the ring out of the display case to relive the memories, I feel the love that this woman once radiated. The power of her love endures through this ring!
No one is ever forgotten as long as they are remembered!

When you go out past Kilchoan, towards Sanna on the most westerly edge of Ardnamurchan you enter a very remote, dark and barren land of mountain, moor and bog. The volcanic rock is largely black, but everywhere the dark rock split with patches of white where white quartz has bled through the molten rocks. Seeing this prompted me to look for mountain hares in their winter garb. After all the landscape would appear to be ideal habitat for them, although a large eagle population might cull their numbers. Yet, I haven't seen one so far (this is an old picture from Manchester days). There are some over towards the east in the Cairngorms ( I last saw one near Glendoebeg) but none I am aware of in Ardnamurchan. I wonder if they could be re-introduced in Ardnamurchan?

And I walked off you.
And I walked off an old me.

Prompted by seeing a recent photograph of a Capuchin Monkey at Mato Grosso, Brazil, I decided to post some further images of my own encounter with these monkeys which are particularly gifted in their use of tools. This was the dominant male in action, highly respected by the rest of the troupe.
Capuchin Monkeys were given their name in the 15th century when Portugese explorers encountered them in the Americas and thougt their colouring and 'caps' of dark hair resembled the brown hoods worn by friars of Minor Capuchin.
Thank you all for your kind responses.

**Prompt :**

**Prompt:**
Ultra-detailed cinematic portrait of a woman with flowing fiery red hair, shown in left profile, eyes closed in a serene, almost mystical expression. Her skin is luminous and hyperrealistic, with subtle pores, natural softness, and a gentle blush. Soft golden hour lighting grazes her face, sculpting delicate shadows and highlights with a painterly touch.
Her long, radiant red hair appears alive, expanding into intricate, fluid tendrils that gradually transform into liquid gold arabesques, inspired by Art Nouveau patterns. These swirling forms feel organic and ornamental, as if her hair is dissolving into a dreamlike current of molten metal.
Within these golden streams, metallic droplets hang suspended in midair, catching light like glowing honey. Dark bats with finely detailed, slightly translucent wings emerge from the composition, frozen mid-flight, adding a subtle gothic tension and contrast.
The background is rich and immersive, blending deep midnight blues with complex golden structures resembling a surreal, dreamlike city or fragmented luminous architecture. Thousands of tiny glowing windows and geometric fragments shimmer softly, creating depth and visual intrigue.
Cinematic volumetric lighting, with floating particles in the air. Extremely shallow depth of field, artistic bokeh softening secondary elements. Ultra-photorealistic 8K rendering, extreme detail, realistic reflections on gold surfaces. A fusion of classical painting and modern CGI realism, inspired by Gustav Klimt yet grounded in contemporary hyperrealism.
Virtual camera settings: sharp focus on the face, softly blurred background. Balanced composition using the rule of thirds, subject slightly offset to the left. Color palette dominated by gold, amber, copper, and deep midnight blue.
Mood: dreamlike, elegant, slightly gothic, suspended between alchemy and fantasy.
