At the end of the week I'm off an special visit to a ex-work colleague who is now suffering from Dementia. These photos will form a photo album that I will give him.
I totally love Val's photos from the desert. It was hard to convert to my surroundings though, me living in a big city. The only thing I could come up with was this minimalistic composition. I think I like it.
Off prompt today. I scrapped at my desk. I scrapped on an ottoman yesterday though and I used 7 year old chipboard (hope it sticks). So I'm trying!
Our teachers love the annual Cookie Bar/Buffet sponsored by the PTA. It is a festive day in the teacher break room and everyone heads home with snacks to remind them of how much we adore them.
Day 05 - Movement // I just love toys and items that are solar powered. They're usually rather adorable or useful and in this case, Piplup is just adorable. I can't remember the proper name for these, though he bobs his head from side to side when his mini solar panel is in direct sunlight. So, since I was looking through my blogs, an idea popped in my head to take a picture of this guy bobbing. You can't exactly see it in the picture since it's not a gif, I might have to make one someday.

First sketch was shape only. Yes, the house looks like the one 'Jack bulit'! But this ex really helped to inform the second sketch. Despite its imperfections I feel it looks like it might remain upright. A very complex roofscape with numerous angles. A terrific challenge!

My town is nestled at the base of Long's Peak. At 14,259' it is always magnificent in all 4 seasons. Proud to say that I submitted Long's and it is spectacular from the top too.
This photo was also shot in Ireland in 2003. On our roundtrip through Kerry and Dingle Eric and I visited the little island 'Skelig Michael'. I visited this tiny island earlier in 1999 after a few days of windy weather. That time the island was everything you expect of Ireland, mystical with mists all around. Four years later the sun shone plentiful and the feel was totally different. Before I could photograph these steps without people I had to practice some patience.
