This is a photograph from the 9th annual running of the Meath Spring Half Marathon which was promoted and hosted by Bohermeen Athletic Club at Bohermeen, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 8th of March 2020 at 11:00. The half marathon consists of a 11KM and 10KM repeated loop around the roads of Bohermeen and Oristown. The finish line is on the running track within Bohermeen Community Center. The course is a fast fair course with a few small hills. In 2016 the original course was 'reversed' which just meant that the traditional course changed to accomodate the large number of participants and the narrow country roads on which both the race participants and race traffic must both share before, during and after the race. Most runners agreed that this made the course much faster as a result. This is the second year of the half marathon only event. The major change for 2019 seen the half marathon become the only race of the day. Previously, there was a 10KM race option also presented. This year well over 1000 participants finished the race which sold out many weeks in advance. The race also includes the 47th Rennicks Cup (Men's overall team) and the 44th Father Delany Cup (Women's overall team).
The weather was a slight improvement on the very wintry weather of 2019. A very strong westerly wind contined and this was in the face of runners on the open stretches on the Navan Athboy road and on the additional section on Loop 1. There was also a very heavy hail shower at around midday.
Bohermeen AC is steeped in Irish athletics history since 1927 and it is this experience and exceptional community spirit and volunteering which has made this event today so successful. Having now organised the event for six years running it is certain that the event will continue to grow and expand become one of the mainstays on the Irish athletic club road racing calendar for many years to come.
This race takes place about one month after the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race in Trim (just down the road from Bohermeen). Indeed these races truly kick-start the whole road racing season of fixtures amongst the clubs in Meath who are now famous for the quality and standard of the road races staged and organised.

From 26-27 November 2019, experts from a dozen countries came together in Doha, Qatar to learn and share their experiences around prisoner rehabilitation. The gathering also marked the launch of UNODC's new guide in support of national brands of prisoner-developed products.
This is a photograph from the 11th annual running of the Tom Brennan Memorial 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held on Furze Road, Phoenix Park, Chapelizod, Dublin, Ireland on New Year's Day Friday 1st January 2016 at 12:00. The race route is a two loop course which starts and finishes on the Furze Road in the middle of the Phoenix Park. Participants follow a clockwise, right-handed, route around Furze Road, Ordnance Survey and Chesterfield Avenue. The weather was not the best for fast racing. A very very strong stormy headwind into the faces of participants along Chesterfield Avenue made this particular section tough going for everyone. There was also a particularly cold icy feel in the air. However several hundred runners, joggers and walkers braved the elements to take part.
The race is organised and promoted by the local athletics club Liffey Valley Athletic Club who are based in Islandbridge, Dublin 8 and have a catchment area around this part of Dublin city.
The race commemorates the memory and contribution of former club member Tom Brennan who won the National Cross Country Championships in 1975 in UCD Belfield at the age of 24 years. A special commemorative perpetual trophy is presented to the winner of the race every year. The race is also of particular interest to those runners, joggers and walkers who are not necessarily involved in the competitive side of the race. Annually the race is the first of a series of races in Dublin city which make up the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge. This initiative by Dublin City Council is now in its fourth year and over 300 runners, joggers and walkers volunteer to take part in five of Dublin’s most popular road races. The Liffey Valley Club and many other volunteers work hard to make this a very successful event. It provides a splendid opening of the New Year for runners of all abilities. It is also a fitting 'official' start to the new year of road racing in the Dublin and North Leinster region.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. This is a photograph from the finish of the 2nd Annual Kilcock Athletic Club 10 Mile Road Race which was held in the town of Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 18th August 2019 at 10:10. The race is promoted by the St. Coca's AC club and this is a very successful second installment of the race. With over 600 participants there is a great deal of work and organisation required to stage a long distance race in the area between the Kilcock, Maynooth and Clane catchment areas. St. Coca's AC have established a fine reputation from their annual 5KM road race held every June. They are also well known for the lavish and plentiful after-race refreshment spreads they provide!
The race has grown and expanded on its first installment where there were 500 finishers. This year seen just over 600 finishers of the race.
The weather was a mixed affair. Temperatures were warm and pleasant but there was a very strong westerly breeze. This has both a headwind and tailwind effect in the race, most notably making the Canal section at the end a little more difficult. There was a light shower of rain during the race.
The race starts near Scoil Ui Riada on the Kilcock to Clane road. The route heads south-easterly along the first 1.5 miles of the Kilcock AC 5KM road race route. The route turns right here at Laragh and heads towards the townlands of Clonfirth, Baltracey and Balraheen. The half way point is at the well known Ladychapel Church crossroads between the L1010 and the Maynooth-Rathcoffey R408 road. Proceeding northwards toward Maynooth the race takes a left at the Crinstown Cross Roads to mark the turn back westerly towards Kilcock. Just after mile 7 the race crosses the M4/M6 Kilcock/Maynooth motorway bypass. This crossing and the next canal bridge are the only real 'hills' on the course. The last two miles turn westward toward Kilcock along the Royal Canal Greenway. The race enters the Greenway at Jackson's Bridge and proceeds along the bank of the Canal under Bailey's Bridge, across Chamber's Bridge and finishing at The Harbour in Kilcock opposite Lidl and the former Dermot Kelly's Garage. Water stations are provided at mile 3 and mile 6. Overall, the route is fast, fair and very suitable to fast road racing and competitive times.

One of the interesting features of the race is the start time of 10:10 in the morning. The significance of the 10s are as follows: it is a 10 mile race, it is 10 weeks exactly from the Dublin City Marathon in October 2019, and the course is a great opportunity for runners of all abilities to gain that illusive PB or season best.

Suddenly the skies cleared and the sun appeared. However, a very strong westerly wind contined and this was in the face of runners on the open stretches on the Navan Athboy road and on the additional section on Loop 1.
Bohermeen AC is steeped in Irish athletics history since 1927 and it is this experience and exceptional community spirit and volunteering which has made this event today so successful. Having now organised the event for six years running it is certain that the event will continue to grow and expand become one of the mainstays on the Irish athletic club road racing calendar for many years to come.

Having now organised the event for six years running it is certain that the event will continue to grow and expand become one of the mainstays on the Irish athletic club road racing calendar for many years to come.
This race takes place about one month after the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race in Trim (just down the road from Bohermeen). Indeed these races truly kick-start the whole road racing season of fixtures amongst the clubs in Meath who are now famous for the quality and standard of the road races staged and organised.

This is a photograph from the Tullamore Harriers AC "Quinlan Cup" Half Marathon which was held on Saturday 29th August 2015 in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, Ireland at 12:00. This is the third year of the event. The race is organised and promoted by Tullamore Harriers AC. The race starts on the Charleville Road just outside the entrance to Tullamore Harriers. The race proceeds south along the R421 and onto the N52 before taking a route onto local back roads. The race then completes a large rural road route before it joins to the R421 again and the final 1.5 miles are the same as the first mile of the race. The runners enter Tullamore stadium and complete one lap of the tartan track before the finish line. The course is challenging in places with some undulations along the route. But overall it is fair course. 2013 seen the first year of the event as the club commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the formation of Tullamore Harriers AC which today is one of Ireland's best known athletics clubs.
The race was perfectly organised. The weather was good for racing but there was a very strong headwind for the first 6 miles of the race which made the conditions difficult. The weather was dry and warm except for the torrential downpour at around 1:45pm which cleared the whole finish area of spectators and runners. There were stewarts all along the route, 3 drink stations with bottled water, superb facilities, and great after-race refreshments. The stewards along the route provided great encouragement to all of the runners. Tullamore Harriers and the local community really worked together to make this is a wonderful event. There was also a relay option where teams of two can run approximately 10.5km each. In total almost 700 participants took part. This was higher than the 568 participants who completed the race which is almost 150 more than the 2013 event.

As mentioned above this race half marathon started in 2013 and celebrated the 60th Anniversary (a Diamond Anniversary) of the foundation of Tullamore Harriers AC. The club was formed in the town in November 1953. However, it was almost 1979 before facilities close to what we see today open in the present day site. Over 50 provincial and national athletics meetings are held at Tullamore Harriers every year. The facilities available combined with it's central geographical location joining routes from North, South, East, and West make it a very attractive venue. The half marathon today firmly brings competitive national road racing back to "The Harriers". The Quinlan Cup which will be awarded to the winning club team. For more than 40 years the Harriers Quinlan Cup was the most prestigious event on the road racing calendar. Having started as a cross-country race back in 1957, it became a road race in 1967 and remained so until 2000 when the race was last held. During its reign as a blue-ribband event the Quinlan Cup was won by the likes of John Treacy and Eamonn Coughlan.
Today, the facilities at Tullamore Harriers are the envy of many athletics clubs in Ireland. The facilities provided by Tullamore make it one of the premier venues for local and national level athletics in Ireland. There is an Olympic standard tartan track, a fully equipped gym, changing facilities, press and media facilities, meeting room spaces, etc. The club also provides a social center and niteclub which makes "The Harriers" a very well known on the local social scene. Esssentially, the town of Tullamore would be a different place if it weren't for the presence of Tullamore Harriers AC.

But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

This is a photograph from the 5th annual running of the Meath Spring Half Marathon and 10KM Road Races and Fun Runs which were promoted and hosted by Bohermeen Athletic Club at Bohermeen, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 13th of March 2016 at 12:00. The half marathon consists of a 11KM and 10KM repeated loop around the roads of Bohermeen and Oristown. The course is a fast fair course with a few small hills. This year the course was 'reversed' which just meant that the traditional course changed to accomodate the large number of participants and the narrow country roads on which both the race participants and race traffic must both share before, during and after the race. Most runners agreed that this made the course much faster as a result. There was almost a total of 1,000 participants in both races.
The other great variable in road racing - the weather - was at its spectacular best. It was as close to perfect running conditions. Little or no breeze, around 10C temperature and clear conditions.
Bohermeen AC is steeped in Irish athletics history since 1927 and it is this experience and exceptional community spirit and volunteering which has made this event today so successful. ‘Promoting a More Just, Verdant and Harmonious Resolution’ (2011) by Postcommodity (USA).
Premiering at Contour 2011, this interactive work is Postcommodity’s latest installment from their evolving series using physics models to sonify weapons systems as a means of examining the psychological, social, cultural and political implications of speed, tactics and weaponry within theaters of war and other contested spaces.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. SEAT Rally Car and other Racing Car ride simulators
In August 1988, Camber offered SEAT the Steve Harper SHADO designed 'footprint' conscious caricatured Ibiza as a way to promote activities within their Motorsport Division.
The project began in January 2000 when Gwyndaff Evans Ibiza Rally Car was delivered to the workshops at Fletcher Sportsboats.
The Ibiza car was over 3.7m long, and for the ride machine, the car caricature length needed to be reduced to below 2.5m.
So by carefully adding mould shuttering over the car, part sections were produced, which when reassembled met the required length.
The ‘stepped’ body shape was then reblended using foam and body-filler by modelmakers John Grimshaw & Jim Oates, and 2 weeks later the finished model was ready for to be tooled for production.
This model was then used again, as the basis for the modelling of the interior panels and screen surround.
Once those parts were completed, the first cars were ready to be built by the end of March, by the CAMBER technicians.
15 cars were built in total, and these were installed in a wide variety of venues throughout the UK.
Then, by connect them all via the internet, a National championship was created to challenge users of the popular ‘Rally’ games.
The winners were entertained on Rally events, and the overall winner was rewarded with a SEAT Ibiza car.
From this concept a further series of car and Display trailers were designed and created for touring venues throughout the country. Many of the ESP Trailers are still in use today by many varied organisations.

Ft Buchanan, PR - On Saturday December 14, 2013 the Army Reserve of the United States in Puerto Rico, witnessed one of the most significant events in their tradition, the change of command ceremony. It is an event that has been celebrated for hundreds of years and continues to be important as it marks the continuation of leadership and gives the formal relay from one Commanding Officer to another Commander. The protagonists were two Puerto Ricans with his perseverance and performance managed to overcome, reach and become leaders of the troops in Puerto Rico.
"Brigadier General Fernando Fernandez leaves a legacy at the First Mission Support Command (1st MSC) of the US Army Reserve Puerto Rico on the duty to always lead by example. No wonder this is one of his favorite phrases and it has not only inherited but lives it every day."said Lieutenant General Jeffrey W. Talley who was the guest of honor and responsible to officially release and deliver the responsibilities of command.
After more than 30 years of military career General Fernández, begin his life as retired from the armed forces.
"It was an incredible honor to serve with the Soldiers of this command, being the Commander for the past four years has been the adventure and the best four years of my life. I leave you in good hands, "said General Fernández
Meanwhile the newly promoted Brigadier General Jose R. Burgos, who assumed the responsibility on this day, it proved very proud to have the opportunity to direct the Command
"Today, another son from La Isla del Encanto is promoted to Brigadier General in the best Army in the world; I am now a real example of the many opportunities our great nation offers." said General Burgos.
The new General said that we must have perseverance and discipline to achieve our goals. He talked about his humble life in Cantera’s Subdivision, and now he feels pride in taking charge.
"With this achievement I will hopefully serve as an example to others and continue to forge better leaders and citizens for our communities, our country and our nation," he said.

This is a photograph from the second round of the Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 14th May 2014 at 20:00. The race follows the roads and trails around Belvedere and is a very testing 5KM route. The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 380 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was much improved on last week with warm and mild conditions for the race.

The South Carolina National Guard promoted Timothy J. Sheriff, deputy commanding general of the 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, to the rank of U.S. Army Brigadier General in a ceremony at the National Guard Armory in Seneca, S.C., Oct. 21. Brig. Gen. Sheriff was sworn in at the ceremony by Maj. Gen. Robert E.
