I just noticed that in addition to the rest of my face being bloodied and swollen from oral surgery, I also have a black eye. Yay. Taken with the front camera on the iPhone with Camera+

Heavy civil projects has been the main focus of my work. Major water line project.

The Groundnuts Project -- sounds like a 60's band. I spent last Friday

traveling with the hospital truck to a nearby district to pick up around

4,000kg of seeds for peanuts and soybeans to bring back for seed

distribution this week. It's been kind of a madhouse with staying up

late to pack up seeds, leaving early in the morning the next day to

travel out to the villages and do the distribution ceremony, and cover

my inpatient duties at the hospital. We ended up moving around a total

of around 8,000kg of seeds, which has been developing my back and

stomach muscles -- Zambians have such good core strength, I think it

comes from hoeing and hauling around 50kg sacks of maize! You could

continue to pray that people feel the love of God through the work at

the hospital and through these gifts of seeds, and that there will be a

good harvest for the families that plant them.

Otaki

Today we drove Adrian up the Kapiti Coast to Otaki. Partly to see the scenery on the way up and partly so he could go to the outlet stores there before our skiing trip. Once we'd done the shops and had some brunch we went down to the river. It is still officially winter (spring starts on 1st September) but everywhere I look there is yellow, Not just the daffodils but this yellow tree. I don't know what it is called but it is pretty.

The Toronto skyline viewed at the rooftop of Hyatt! Had a summerlicious dinner with my crazy awesome high school buddies at Annona and thank you to my friend's bf, our chef! Omg, the five course meal filled us up like whoa.

The Farmworker Immersion Project placed students in the community to learn about farmworker rights and immigration issues. The students were guided through a first-hand experience of farm work life. They visited a local berry farm and learned about the agricultural business, then worked in the field and harvested berries.

Oly meets Oly. The new boy met the old boy today. I was hunting for a picture and found my old Oly Trip 35 gathering dust in a cupboard. I get the feeling that we'll see more of this

Here I used coloured card, to create the forms of fish. Rather than simply colouring in drawings, I cut out the forms. It made the fish really stand out from the red & white background.

- Used pencil, Watercolours, Fine Liner...

Phazer Electric’s electrical contractors provided efficient construction service in a major collaboration with Lululemon. Here are some details about the exciting project: bit.ly/3ZPBMvz

The picture on top is my reflection photo. I choose to take a picture of lipsticks because I thought it was creative. I also like the bright reds in this. I added some minor adjustments like brightening the photo and taking out some yellow as well as boosting the reds. I found the lipsticks in my mom's makeup cabinet. The exposure for this top photo was one sixth of a second. The reason it was so slow was that it was taken indoors in a bathroom.

The second picture is scissors. To me scissors have a very distinct shape so I thought it would fit the project well. I took this picture on my desk at a one thirtieth of a second. I made a few adjustment in the beginning, but I thought the picture just looked really plain. I clicked the invert button by accident while editing the picture, but I ended up liking the filter very much because it really made the shadow pop. Also, i boosted the yellow all the way and it made the whole background black. I liked this project because I liked to think about shadows and reflections when normally I see them and just pass them by.

this is the cunningham project. i went to school with all these guys and they recently got in touch with me over myspace. i orignally planned a goofy old school tennis shoot but it got rained out and we were cooped up in the building and this is the result. ill be re doing the tennis shoot sometime this week. i had so much trouble with this shoot. i was panicking lol. we were supposed to start at 8. well it was raining and one of the guys didnt show up til 815 and the rain wasnt letting up so once we finally got all my stuff inside and the guys dried off it was about 830 and i played with lighting for about ten minutes and was told one guy had to leave in 20 min. so, i had 20 min to rush all these shots. i wasnt very pleased with the out turn of the shoot. but i got some good shots and thats all ya can ask for i guess. i just cant wait to do the tennis themed one coming up.

Today was a day I really needed, brought smiles to my face because it brought lunch from Mindy, yogurt from Nancy, and a wonderful dinner with Anh. I worked on a project I can't wait to show you, because being around the right people gives me this passion that drives me, makes me to want to do more. It just fuels my art.

I'm abit behind on uploading. Days 15, 16, &17 were all taken on the right days, I just didn't edit or upload any of them.

Day 15 was my drive-home day. My mom drove me to St. Lucie to get my car, &then I drove the rest of the way. I have to say, it was pretty nice heading home, getting off the highway, &knowing I was going back to my apartment.

Muffy chilled in the backseat the whole ride, but in my mom's car &mine.
