I asked Jenn, the next door neighbor to come out in the rain for today's portrait. Her fiance, Brooks, helped hold a reflector for me. We tried a jump shot, then Jenn just looked at Brooks and said "You should do this. Do a Calypso."

I was like, "What's a Calypso?"

"Oh you'll see," said Jenn. "You know Brooks danced for years..."

My husband held a flash with a Fong diffuser aimed at Brooks' face, just out of shot. Tomorrow's purchase = new Lite Links because my strobes keep conking out.

Street Photography Now Project Instruction #38

"When you hit that wall of utter frustration while photographing the street, when you are beyond tired and just want to give up, keep on walking - for another hour, or until the light goes entirely. Often the best photographs come when you least expect them - when you are the most exhuasted, and the most emotionally vulnerable." - Alex Webb

There is so much change going on right now. She's losing her baby teeth, she's graduating pre-school and moving onto Kindergarten in the fall, and she doesn't want her Mama in the bathroom when she takes her baths amymore. This is all a part of growing up but, it is far too many changes for me right now.

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Inside the artificial biodomes are plants that are collected from all around the world.

The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, the complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining domes that house thousands of plant species. The domes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The first dome simulates a tropical environment, and the second a Mediterranean environment.

Project Prometheus was a classified initiative to create the biggest weapon yield possible wihtout explosives. Seen left are the Prometheus satellites which use a 4 kiloton slug with an 11.84 megaton impact yield. This was outlawed by the D&CII War Council and so the answer was the Pildriver missile (left, not to scale with Prometheus) which uses a slug half the size and half the yield.

Today was quite a wet one in terms of weather. It was quite hard to find anything that stoudout for me. But luckily you can always look on the bright side of life/weather. On my way to launch today I was standing at the lights waiting to cross when a group on people came up behind me waiting to cross. I had my new Fujifilm Finepix X100 under my jacket and looked to the right of me and found this women standing in the weather with this broken umbrella and just before the lights went green I pulled my camera out a toke this stealthy photo without anyone knowing.

Sunday December 20th 2020

Out for the day to see some trains and some amazing art roll by. All of the "Fisheye" 7.5mm shots the time is off by one hour, as I forgot to change the clock on the Fujifilm X-E-3 when we "Fell" back.

Arrived about 10:15AM, pulled up to the trailhead parking lot, into the first space next to the handicaped parking space and immediately noticed that there was a cargo type van, pulled off of the blacktop, and there were a couple guys with cameras filming into the back of the van. Hmmm... When I got out of the car I noticed that there was a guy in the back of the van, tied up, and had tape accross his mouth. I figured they were filming some sort of project and asked if I should move my car as I was only one space away from where they were filming. No, you're fine. Ok, and a hiking I would go. Out to my favorite benching spot. My favorite place to go to graffiti, and have graffiti delivered to me via the rails and locally.

It doesn't take long to get to my spot, but the spot is magical. Weird rocks, desert, not to hard to get to, and trains all day...

I go out there by myself, but see tons of people rolling through on their quads, jeeps, and $20k side by sides with flags and music blaring out into the desert. Always some crappy music. Nothing that makes me feel like I'm out in the desert alone. The Jim Morrison vibes when you're out there alone are real. It can be scary, friendly, hot or cold. The desert can be inviting one minute, but when you're running low on water harsh in the next. I've been to the beach maybe a handfull of times in my life, but have been to the desert hundreds, and it's my comfort spot.

Saw a ton of amazing pieces today and captured most of them. Had fun, and didn't get bitten by anything. All in all, it was a great way to spend the day.

Turns out the people filming the guy tied up in the van were filming part of a music video. Had a nice 5 min. conversation with them and home I went to look at the treasures I'd captured.

Stay safe out there !!!!

A project I did as a testament of my faith, showing convicted criminals at their meanest state, and Christ in the corner. One might ask exactly why he is in this band of thieves and sinners, being the only Son of God. Jesus took a mighty beating before he was sentenced to death by crucifixion, laying down his life so that the sinners of his day and today would be forgiven of all they have done to be unfaithful to God and His kingdom. All that is expected in return is to believe in his Father, believe what happened that day two millenia ago, and believe why he did it. By this and living a faithful life in His name, we are free!

Thank you Jesus, for making that sacrifice that we may live our lives the way God had intended. We owe it all to you...

Project Mario is a project of Mona El Hallak at Beit Beirut to discover the stories of the people whose portraits and photos were being developed at the film studio in the Barakat Building before the Lebanese Civil War. Postcards of these photos are available for the public to help to piece together these stories. Only a couple of photos were left, and I picked up one of the lady in the upper left hand corner.

I was originally drawn to the wayfarer glasses in this set of negatives.
