What is the atlas project? Inspired by the Greek myth of Atlas (the poor aul chap had to hold the sky up on his shoulders as a punishment, wiki it for details) I'm taking anonymous pictures of people's backs and posing them the question "What is the weight on your shoulders?" The responses can be seen on the blog latlasproject.tumblr.com/

I had to think about whether I should crawl through the gate for a short-cut or walk an extra 10 minutes to get home. Summer needs to be over... I miss school.
Peony in the bud . . . The Peony was named after Paeon, a physician to the gods, who obtained the plant on Mount Olympus from the mother of Apollo.
"Guerrilla Flower Project", an experiment about Guerrilla Marketing, Treasure Hunting & Flowers. On the night of the 21 may 2007, 130 paper crafts flowers were hidden in Villa Guardia, a little Italian town.
Every flower had a card with a little nonsense rhyme, a web link and one of five different pieces of a treasure map. If you could find every part of the map, you were able to reach the treasure, hidden in the flower shop of the town.
My desk where I spend a lot of my time during the day, afternoon, and night. I probably should clean my desk soon though.
I made some strawberry cupcakes last night and my acrylic boards arrived today, so wanted to play around with the reflections.

Everyone seems to like him so far - next stop is a tweaked head and arm articulation and then it's off to the mould-making department for casting in resin.

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 2 km (1.2 mi) from the town of St Blazey and 5 km (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.
The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining domes that house thousands of plant species, and each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The biomes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The largest of the two biomes simulates a Rainforest environment and the second, a Mediterranean environment. The attraction also has an outside botanical garden which is home to many plants and wildlife native to Cornwall and the UK in general; it also has many plants that provide an important and interesting backstory, for example, those with a prehistoric heritage.
Thorndon architecture. Snapped during a lunchtime walk. I think this is one of the embassies.

Germany - Lubeck: Breite Strasse.
Haus der Schiffergesellschaft -
House of the Seamen's Guildhall
Convention house of the seamen and skippers. Only building of its kind still existing in Lubeck, today historic restaurant, constructed in 1535, entrance newly designed by Dietrich Jurgen Boy in 1768. In 1880 new facing of the gable front with industrially produced bricks. Portrait of sailing vessel, tablet with aphorisms and vane with sailing vessel from the 17th century, bench-ends from 1745.
From plaque on the front of the building- the folk of Lubeck are very generous, in that each of such description plaques is given in English as well as German!
Hard to believe that we're into spring and I haven't done a daff shot yet. Tis the season to be sure.
These ones are actually mini daffodils and they're planted along the footpath to the main entrance at work.
These ones were back and side lit given the time of day, but I spent about a quarter of a second composing it. Shame on me!

On my way from the bus stop to the venue for tonight's Fringe Festival show I paused at Te Aro Park and snapped this pigeon. Seconds before he had been dipping a foot into the water and hurriedly taking it back out again, just like a kid on the beach when the sea is cold but they want to paddle anyway.
