Gas operated, rotating bolt with 4 lugs, To provide balancing action, secont gas piston is fitted in the front of the first one. When gun is fired, main gas piston moves rearwards, operating the bolt group, while balancing piston moves in opposite direction, being synchronised to the main one via simple rack and pinion system thus redusing recoil with 25%

This week I decided to participate in the EtsyMetal Project Runway Challenge.

"Make an "avant garde" piece of jewelry using a work of art as your inspiration. If you have access to a child and want to collaborate on something, go for it!"

I was going to use a child's artwork as an inspiration but then I stumbled upon "Small Picture of Firtrees" by Paul Klee. The color scheme and the assymetrical rectangles completely captivated me. So I made an embroidery piece using a similar color combination and set it in an oxidized copper frame. I made the cord to hang the pendant by tearing and stitching pieces of fabric. The final piece ended up reminding me more of a Modrian than Klee but I guess this can happen :-)

Somehow I inadvertently uploaded two copies of this ... so I had to delete one

So sorry to those who had already taken the time to comment :(

Bit of an obvious shot, but I've got a cold so I'm not feeling creative.

It's my old man's birthday so we had a Chinese banquet takeaway and it was fab.

This is just a scene from my Spanish project from a while back. Obviously not my best, but I believed I owed my comrades some of my builds in my prolonged absence. I'll post more if anyone cares to see.

New project that I've been working on. If you can't tell he is inspired by Ultron from Avengers Age of Ultron, but the color scheme and other aesthetics come from one of my favorite comic book villains of all time, the Reverse Flash.

Been wanting another book for ages. Today I finally brought it.

I decider to concentrate on very common and simple everyday use things, doors. But I look for interesting doors.

Project 365 comes to an END! :)

I suspect folk from the big city might shake their head at that notion. Crowded? How do you figure? Manhattan. That’s crowded. This…This is not crowded. Well, their probably right, but you have to bare in mind. This is where I grew up. And if you’d seen it the way I had seen it, back in my youth, well…It was a far different picture. It’s been a few years since I’ve actually been up here on the bench, and to be perfectly honest I’d really had no plans of coming up here tonight at all. I’d spent most of my evenings down time bumming around the ole truck stop, with my boy Bubba guy, eves dropping on my night crew, just across the way, and seeking out that ever elusive “cool truck” shot. A few hours worth of nothing, and way to much caffeine, and I figured I was finally ready to call it a day.

Figuring the day was done, and I was going to be going home empty handed, the drive back into town was a quiet one. My mind was on fire, and I had nothing to show for it. As I made the turn on to 17th. something in the rearview mirror grab not only may attention, but apparently my muse as well. Colors. Colors that in a fashion seemed to resemble the fire I was metaphorically painting in my mind. The fire I at that moment felt I wanted to not only feel but in a since experience.

“Bubba?”

“Hmm?” came a calm, curious, and somewhat disappointed voice (we didn’t get a picture of Optimas Prime), from the four year old passenger strapped comfortably in the back seat.

“How do you feel about a quick run up the hill?”

“Aw wight.” Came a voiced response, coupled with grin and a vigorous nod of the head that I’m quite certain would have broken my neck.

And that pretty much sealed the deal. Passing the street that would have lead me home, I continued on and fifteen minutes later we were up on the east bench, and I was setting up my camera, and shacking my head. The location I had originally been planning to shoot from was no longer available. Nor was my secondary choice. Both scenic outlooks had been replaced by newly developed prime real estate. Hell, they even had fire hydrants. I didn’t wonder why, I only wondered how.

Back in my youthful years of tender teendom I use to charge the ole Chevelle up this road after a rough day of double duty “May I take your order” chaos at the central sea food, and Ameri-Mexican fast food joints I worked at, for no other reason then to get away from the noise. There was nothing up here back then. No noise, no development. There wasn’t even a posted speed limit. Just a windy strip of black top that seemed to lead to nowhere.

I might not have been able to escape the acrid layered stench of encrusted deep fry grease, and repugnant body odor emanating from my person, but at least I could find a decent round about where I could cut the motor, lay on the hood for a few minutes, look out at the city lights and the stars, and hear nothing…Nothing but the wind rustling through the underbrush, and the under toned hush of my own breath.

I suppose those days are about gone now. In the last five years the population here has quite literally doubled, and every year those who can afford it creep just a little higher up the hill. Call me old fashion, selfish, or plain ole hick, but it’s a statistic that really doesn’t sit well with me. I like my space. It’s one of the reasons I’ve always loved living here. And little by little that space is becoming smaller and smaller…I suspect given a few more years this location I’d shot from tonight will even have become over run with a small rural edition…Such is progress I suppose.

For number 7 of 20 “I dig these tunes” and in no small part more then likely influenced by Wright’s passing last week, I chose Pink Floyd’s “High Hopes”. Because nothing is what I remember it being like growing up anymore.

Beijo

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 2 km (1.2 mi) from the town of St Blazey and 5 km (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.

The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining omes that house thousands of plant species, and each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The biomes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The largest of the two biomes simulates a Rainforest environment and the second, a Mediterranean environment. The attraction also has an outside botanical garden which is home to many plants and wildlife native to Cornwall and the UK in general; it also has many plants that provide an important and interesting backstory, for example, those with a prehistoric heritage.

The cabin we are staying at has a little gated garden. I was unable to unlatch the gate so I had to take pictures through the fence. I took this picture in the morning before we left.
