Dirty Projectors live at the Barbican, first half playing the Getty Address and the second playing songs from Bitte Orca! Really amazing show, grooving to Stillness is the Move and rocking out to Useful Chamber. Good times

Strobist: I wanted to experiment with continuous light so I setup an overhead projector camera left about 4 feet away. I decided to use a high-contrast, checkerboard graphic to get an idea of how the light would cast and I was pleasantly surprised with the definition on this first attempt. There's a white board a few feet away, camera right, to cast reflective light on her right side.

This thing really works. We used it this Xmas to view some 8mm family "movies" my dad shot over 30 years ago.

This is the movie projector from the movie house in Berlin, Pa were we went to see the $.25 saturday movie. The theater finally closed when the local kids boycotted the movies in protest, when the owner accidently killed my brothers pet squirel. He didn't know the squirel was a pet and when the squirel jumped on his shoulder, got startled and killed the squirel because he feared rabies. But the kids waiting to see the movie saw a "squirel murder", they just left and never came back.
The Acura TSX projectors fit snugly in place. You can rotate it in all directions and it doesn't move. I am fastening one side into a plastic rail and the side closest to the camera will be wedged in place when the missing section is re-attached. This will also allow easy removal if need be.
I picked this up from a local Goodwill for two dollars. It's functional, other than the lamp being burned out, but in the end, all I see are some cool spare parts.
I couldn't get really good pictures without a much more complicated setup, so I just post-processed to make it look like an old picture.
I can't decide if this is some kind of super-projector, or just a really old one. I think the lens was about the side of my head. A helpful warning below the projector states: do not look into the lens.
