Between Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA

Had to cover the mural in preparation for the floor installation today

Claire and I were out at Macricostas Preserve (Connecticut) on Saturday. I had to look that name up - we always call it "The Pinnacle." Anyway, I took this at the start of the hike and thought it looked cool. The dark blue blob is a bit of an error on my part (caused by the circular polarizer I was using along with the wide angle) but I still like it. It also reminds me a little of the Windows XP "Bliss" background.

I was traveling from New York (JFK) to Guangzhou China (CAN) on China Southern Airlines. This is the "Wingtips Lounge" in Terminal 4 in JFK that my business class ticket allowed me entrance to. It was fairly mediocre.

Turns out these shoes are not so great to dance in. I need to get some toe cushions if I intend to try it again. The balls of my feet still hurt from Saturday night! [Project 366, Apr 28]

Jack, Claire and I (and Violet too, she was interested in going with us) went for a little hike today at Hidden Valley Preserve in Washington, CT.

These little Kinder eggs are a wonderful treat! Kinder is definitely my favourite chocolate brand.

Dessert!

Last week during my study hall supervision, I saw this book sitting on my coworker's desk. I picked it up and read the first few pages and was totally intrigued. I ended up finishing it on Monday. Jodi Picoult has been hit or miss for me. My Sister's Keeper was great and so were several other of her books. Then I felt like she got in that rut where best selling authors crank out book after book to meet deadlines and make cash. John Grisham comes to mind, too. Anyway, this book was pretty darn good, I thought. A thought provoking page turner. Can't really go wrong with that. It was one of those books I found myself thinking about the next morning after I read it which, in my opinion, is a good sign. I clearly connected to the story and characters, ya know? It was a provocative enough story too; death penalty and religion. Yeesh! Anyway, if you are looking for a good read, I do recommend this book. The best part is I borrowed it so it was totally free! Score.

Claire is re-learning how to ride a bike. That is, she is learning how to use clipless pedals. Extrapolating from yesterday's results, she needs a lot of practice!

It was my birthday yesterday. Claire made a delicious chocolate-amaretto cheesecake, and I placed the camera on a tripod and jumped in for a photo.

I painted my octopus tentacle hook to blend in with the jellyfish in my mural

I want to build my own ship, and sail away, dream away...

A Saturday morning photo from 400 feet up. The leaves continue to cling to some of the trees in Connecticut, but the "fall foliage" is pretty much done.

I picked up this Anova sous vide machine on sale on Monday night and it arrived today. So I did what anyone would normally do with a new kitchen appliance: Connected it up to my phone via Bluetooth and to the home network via wifi. Happy Friday! You made it.

It rained this morning, then we had a beautiful afternoon

at our Uncle Norman and Aunt Jane's wedding.

Happy Halloween! I was trying to get some Milky Way photos late tonight. While I was waiting for this 20 second exposure to finish, I started thinking about the bear in the area recently. Are bears out at night? I don't know. I think I'm going to be happy with whatever shot I got.

Spent all afternoon organizing all of my garden stuff

Yesterday I said I have a cold... well... today I get worse and I have started the day with high fever. I had to go to class, so I had a hard morning today. After returning home and taking 1gram of Paracetamol I felt better, but then in the afternoon I get bad again and, just a minutes before this post, I had to take a cold shower to take my fever down (I'm very sensible to it and I was feeling too bad with my body at 37.99ºC ). Meantime, in the street, we have a cold, rainy and windy day here, with winds gusting up to 40 knots... what a contradiction!

So well, that's not the best day of my life, but I'm trying to keep myself smiling, and my guitar helped me a litle :) (Each day I play a litle better! ^^ ) and now, with the fever in control, I'm going to study a litle (I must do it!)

Have a nice afternoon folks!

A quick phone snap while leaving work today. It would be great to have some rain here - it's getting dry - but the sunny skies are nice too.
