I don't want to jinx it, but I would say it's nearly certain the candidate I voted for today will be elected President later this year.
He's from Alaska and on his way south for warmer weather.

7th Annual Help-Portrait Chico
“Polaroid” comes to Help-Portrait Chico
An added element to further expand the reach of Help-Portrait Chico, we will use the Fuji Instax camera with instant print film (think Polaroid) to photograph random homeless people we meet on our random travels during this Holiday Season. We will also gift a Holiday Card with included postage along with the Instax instant photo. Doug says, “My hope is that these one-of-a-kind analog photos will reach those who don’t normally want to have their photo taken. I also hope it will provide an opportunity for them to reach out to a long lost family member or friend with the included postage paid Holiday Card.”

This is it. 2009. Every day, from top to bottom, left to right (recursively, within image).
Each line is two months.
Enjoy my life?
My friend has hung these lights in the stairway down to his den/bar, and they're so cool - they make me think of the entryway to an old english pub.
The invitation to "Try and splash me," was taken very seriously. The cannonballs became straight up spinning splashing that doused me. His giggles made it all worthwhile :)
Games corner. A late night shot at the cottage at Charleston Lake, after realizing I had not yet taken a photo for the day.
Yes, I said “train”. Ethan has been working on a potty chart with a train on it called the “potty train”.
For each dry Pull-Up he has, he gets a sticker.
He is now 4 stickers away from having a potty party with cake and presents!
Good-bye Pull-Ups…
I’m getting ready to do the potty dance… WOOT!
This morning, I suspected the dishwasher was not venting correctly so I took the door off, and sure enough, the black rubber gasket had shifted and was allowing some of the moist vapor inside places where it should not be. I fixed that. Later, we heard a loud noise from the garage, and it turns out the main spring on one of the garage doors broke. I had to lift the door to get the car out, and it is amazing how heavy it is without the spring helping! Like, almost unliftably heavy.
Claire brought Jack back home from university today. With his new Computer Engineering degree, he was able to unpack and setup his computer and get online with no help at all. :)
Class picture! Everyone say CHEEEEEEEEESE! Sara came over to eat dinner and watch Grey's Anatomy. She brought Rocky over because Gussie had surgery and Rocky isn't letting him rest. Frankie and Lucy were so jacked to have a visitor. They actually all got along really well. We decided that we needed to have a class picture. This was the end result of much dog wrangling. Check out the stream for much hilarity. I love this picture because it is the quintessential class pic. Rocky looks perfect. Frankie is smiling but looking off camera and Lucy just looks hilarious. Eyes closed, tail sticking out straight. Sara and I laughed so hard after we took it. Best fwends!
Another photo of our new Anova sous vide gadget. We cooked chicken with it on Saturday night and did pork chops, shown here in progress, on Sunday. The meat comes out looking "like hospital food" as Claire said, but then I threw it on the hot grill for 1 minute per side to crisp the outside. It's really amazing the way the meat has uniform doneness all the way through instead of more done on the outside and progressively less cooked as you get to the center. (Note to myself: Chicken at 146 F for 1.5 hour, pork at 140 F for 1 hour. Close to perfect but next time try 1 degree lower for both.)
My room at the Sheraton Dongguan. This is a very nice hotel, and the breakfast was amazing each day.

Claire got her first speeding ticket today! It happened on the way back from Canada right after crossing the bridge from Wellesley Island. There is a 0.5 mile stretch of road that is 55 mph, and the cop with the radar was within sight of the 65 mph sign, and by the time she was pulled over she was well into the 65 zone. Very lame.
The Bolt Of Lightning.
