Droplets and thorns. The sun came out for all of 5 minutes this afternoon!

She gives him these sweet hugs where he lays his head over her shoulder. She sighs and just melts into her. As she prepares to leave for her big school trip, I think she's more concerned about missing him than missing the rest of us :)

Back in late October I injured 4 tendons (2 in each wrist) when I was trying to get ready for my grade 8 piano exam. I had a physio appointment today, and the swellings are finally starting to go down! I've been doing my exercises religiously, and my pain has certainly lessened. I am hoping to be able to do some very, very light playing again in a few weeks, but it will have to be introduced slowly. I'm still in splints, still having to rest, and I'm very behind with my flickr comments as a result as I can only do a few at a time. I'm just glad that the worst is over!

You know, it's pretty cool to live in a place that your "desperation" options are like this! My sister has often commented on the fact that you don't have to look too hard in Annapolis Royal to find a beautiful view.

Today has been a "good day". Good being the understatement. I shall explain why later on; as for now i'm off to see one of the best Christian rock worship bands ever!

God Bless

I mostly planted herbs in this vertical planter, but put a tomato seedling in there as well. It's almost as tall as the planter now.

We had Thanksgiving with our neighbors and they made this delicious apple crumble for dessert

This is my neighbor's yard after Hurricane Helene came through yesterday. Luckily, just some branches down here.

Violet is hoping the Friday night pizza production line process will drop some raw materials onto the floor.

Well, didn't it get a bit wet and windy today!

Photos from around the country show things in a pretty sorry state, so a few downed branches in Liverpool is small stuff. That said, this newly formed lake on West Derby Road was fairly impressive.

I think they call it 'localised flooding'. :)

Santa Monica, CA. 2024

Another rainy afternoon. When the best entertainment is blowing on the glass so he can write "I love Mom" in the mist. I sheltered under the eve to catch his concentration. Forest reflections were a bonus.

We just barely finished the cookies from the last hurricane and here we go again. We're about as ready as we can get. Now it's just a waiting game. The latest track moved it slightly south which is good for us, bad for others. Hopefully, it will continue to weaken. This is an odd storm. Normally you wouldn't want it to stay out in the water because it would intensify, but because there's a front pushing on it from the north, the longer it stays offshore, the more shear that could help weaken it some.

Planted corn & beans a week ago and they're already this big

I tried to get a nice photo of Claire, Violet, miniature lilacs, and the sunset, but Violet was having none of it. Oh! That reminds me - When we were in France, we saw someone with a dog that looks like Violet, and Claire asked if the dog was a Coton de Tulear, and the answer was oui.

Sara and I ate dinner together tonight and then headed to Kohl's. They were having a big brassiere sale that we wanted to check out. Of course, we had to try on some ridiculous items as well. This is a Simply Vera dress from Vera Wang's Kohl's line. It is really hideous, folks. This dress was serious like a garbage bag with sleeves. The whole thing looks like Vera fell asleep for an entire week before the deadline her sketches were due and then woke up in a frenzy the night before and glued a bunch of random crap together. I am NOT impressed. Her underwear line looked pretty good, though. In the stream is a fantastic picture of Sara wearing of the 80's most heinous trends: the cut off shirt with a tank underneath. Who is bringing this back? She paired it with an amazing pair of jean shorts we found in the dressing room. Leave it to us to turn your average shopping trip into a vomit inducing fashion show!

I finally got around to taking a photo at 11:55pm on Thursday night. Last minute, so it was of a cheese grater in the drying rack. I thought I would be able to do something artsy with the metallic patterns. I viewed it this morning and realized I was wrong: it sucked. So I took a look at what the trail camera might have picked up. It picked up a bunch of images of a big dog we have never seen before. This image sucks less than the cheese grater, by the way.

I like it! ;)

Ps: Assinar o pro tem sido um tanto quanto difícil, mas estou ai na espera! ^^

Los Angeles, CA. 2024

Making up for yesterday's photo miss, here is a picture from today: A bee on an aster flower.

Today I stayed all day long in the pool reading my book (I started today and almost finished it!). :)

Thanks for the comments, they are very important to me!

Tuesday morning was a bit rough. I was running late to work. I've been on dog duty in the morning because Steve has been pretty sore so it's not the easiest task for him. I was approaching a busy intersection, and I saw flashing lights off to the side. An accident. As I got closer, I saw that one car had rear ended another. It hit the car in front of it SO HARD, that the car in front was now on it's nose with the rear almost completely vertical in the air, supported by the rear end-er. (Got that?) Anyway, it was really shocking and I looked at it and by the time I looked back, I was blowing a red light at the intersection. A police officer that was turning left to go to the scene of the accident, decided to pull me over instead. Yes, I did not obey the traffic signal but really sir? Don't you have more pressing matters at hand? Well, as you can see, he ended up giving me a written warning which is fine by me. My favorite part is that the warning appears to say that I have pink eyes and brown hair. Groovy, baby.

A really busy day today processing A Level results and then at the end of the working day going to do a bit more on my car which is determined to beat me up.

The new caliper is on, but now it needs a new handbrake cable, new discs and new pads. Bah.

Still, the evening lifted a bit for our Wednesday night gathering, at which in honour of Beki's birthday yesterday Viki brought along a selection of tasty treats, including these muffins which served as a splendid birthday cake to one who isn't normally a huge fan of the genre.

Not the greatest picture I've ever taken but it was dark and I was knackered.
