Pookie's Project Workbench No. 8
Title: Toy Shoppe window and MFBoo window
Watched: Star Trek Original Series
It was a Monday with a late start, and I had to rip some stitches out, but overall, I got more done than I expected. The shading on this moon is really tough to see on the canvas, but working both threads as I go is helping.

heard 99 red balloons on the radio and had my heart set on 9 red balloons! Well on the way home from party city all of them popped (From a lack of air conditioning in my car) so it became 1 red balloon.

After my last little project I kind of had the blues ;-) However it was fun to work with my hand-dyed fabrics and that is what I am going to do today and the next few days. I've always wanted to make a New York Beauty-block, but I've never felt confident enough to try one. Seeing many of those gorgeous blocks in different photostreams here, I got inspired and think it is time to try. If I mess up totally...I have a reason to start dyeing another batch!
I've chosen these fabrics, but I think I will add some more to give it a vibrant look. The funny thing is, that I am no good in working from a fixed pattern, and when sewing I never know how the project will look until it is actually finished.
This is my second shot and the focus was the power of color. My intention was to catch the vastness of the water and sky but still have structure in the foreground. DuChemin states the importance of a consistent color palette. I chose to embody this by emphasizing the presence of the blue in the sky and the water in addition to the blue in my friend's shirt. I also used a macro lens for a bubble effect to provide depth and mood. With the strong vignette from the lens, I opted to crop and use the white vignette in Lightroom.
Enjoying the sunny Sunday in our little balcony while I'm cooking in the kitchen.
Music, sun, peace... this is happiness.

A trial project has begun to determine how long a full restoration project will take to repair Gloucester Cathedral's medieval fan vaulted cloisters. The whole project could take years, or even decades.
Decided to do the earth and the moon. I’ve always wondered what the earth actually looks like in space. I used Color Aid Paper, construction paper, and colored pencil.
