Thuy had some ridiculously cute bookmarks, yes.. those are bookmarks :) On another note, I officially finished one month of this project. 11 more months to go.
Day two of the 365 project is brought to you by a local Hibachi restaurant! My friend Richard took Dan and I out for Japanese today, and all I could think about was how cool it would be if I could get a picture of the chef while he prepared our meal. Luckily the chef didn’t mind if I took some pictures, and below is the result!

Kiwis are my current favourite fruit, but they'll never quite overtake the raspberry as number one fruit of all time.

I normally like to escape the office for twenty minutes or so during the day, quite often to try and get my picture of the day. I couldn't do it today as i left my wetsuit and scuba gear at home, so here's a view from my office window instead.

The second of my 5511 project is Sami. Sami was shot in a tunnel at Patapsco State Park in Maryland. At first Sami had some fun jumping in the air for me to capture. After a few of those (including one that looks like she is 20 feet up) I got a really nice portrait of her looking very serious against the rock wall. While standing across from Sami in the tunnel I had Melissa holding an diffused SB-900 at 1/64 power aimed at the side of Sami. Shot at a slight angle and triggered by the SU-800.
lunch with the twins.
Lauren's abit over-exposed but I only got afew quick shots and this was the best.

We had our hands full with our last project. This store had been owned by an elderly woman. It had both been flooded and had rain come in through the damaged roof. The woman and her son came back to see the store and gave up after they saw the shape it was in because they had no money. The woman now lives in another state in a nursing home. The lower level had been a grocery store, bar, and video arcade and the upper level had been storage and living quarters. Nothing had been touched for almost two years before we cracked it open. This picture was taken on the last day we were there, and the piles in front of the store are everything we removed. We found combs, Christmas decorations, bottles of soda, stuffed animals, bikes, paint cans, arcade games, mayonnaise jars, you name it.
