On February 15, we hosted a tea ceremony to celebrate students from Kagoshima Immaculate Heart College, in Japan, who have been studying in the LEAP program to improve their English.

Genera UNICACH programa para cuidado de la salud de los estudiantes

Comparten experiencia con redes universitarias

Favorecer la formación integral del estudiantado es el objetivo del

programa de Promoción y cuidado de la salud generado en la Universidad de

Ciencias y Artes de Chiapas (UNICACH), única institución en la entidad que

cuenta con un proyecto de esta naturaleza y que pertenece a la Red

Iberoamericana de Universidades Promotoras de la Salud (RIUPS).

Maricarmen Barranco Figueroa, responsable de la Oficina de Formación

Integral informó que desde hace un año se integró un equipo

multidisciplinario con jóvenes de Servicio Social de las licenciaturas en

Nutriología, Odontología, Psicología, Ciencias de la Tierra, Ingeniería

Ambiental y Topografía.

Este grupo de jóvenes ha impartido talleres sobre el manejo de estrés,

alimentación saludable, manejo de residuos y cuidado del ambiente al

estudiantado de la Sedes Regionales de la UNICACH, a quienes también les

brindan servicios odontológicos, seguimiento de peso y talla, y activación

física.

La experiencia de la UNICACH con este programa fue compartida en la pasada

reunión de la RIUPS realizada en Cuba, y será presentada en octubre ante

integrantes de la Red Mexicana de Universidades Promotoras de la Salud, de

la cual también es miembro la universidad.

Blarranco Figueroa detalló que dos de los participantes están realizando su

tesis con temas surgidos a partir del programa, además los jóvenes

obtuvieron el segundo lugar en el concurso de carteles en el pasado Quinto

Foro de Servicio Social, realizado en Chiapas.

Dijo que en este proyecto se vincula la oficina de Formación Integral y

Servicio Social, ambas dependientes de la Dirección de Extensión
