There is a new program offered by the County for LA County business owners called COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certificate Program. The program is a no-cost online training course that educates business owners on the essentials of the County Health Officer’s Orders and what they need to do to ensure that their business practices are aligned and in compliance with infection control and physical distancing requirements. After completing the training, businesses will receive a COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certificate that can be posted on storefronts. The training will be available in 13 languages and can be accessed online through the Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 website.

Woods, command sergeant major of the Center for Initial Military Training, meet with Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Command Sgt. Maj. Alan M. Ferris, Virginia National Guard Senior Enlisted Advisor, and tour the Virginia Army National Guard’s Recruit Sustainment Program Site #9 Oct. 17, 2015, at Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach, Va. Lt. Col. Everton E. Nevers, commander of the Virginia Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, led the briefing and tour, where they saw 54 recent Virginia Army National Guard recruits conducting various forms of training. The goal of the Recruit Sustainment Program is to introduce new National Guard recruits to the basics of the U.S. Army before they attend Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. Training includes physical training, road marches and classes that familiarize the recruits with the U.S. Army’s military rank structure, proper wear of military uniforms and military customs. She thought about how she didn't have enough money to bury herself.
She'd be a burden if she died, so she bought a ten-thousand-dollar life-insurance policy. Then felt it wasn't enough and left instructions for cremation or cardboard box.
She battled cigarettes, negotiating her next smoke, and taking a shower, washing her hair again, rinsing traces of a bad habit into the sewage. She took five showers a day sometimes.
She worried about finding a job, even though she'd once had the perfect job with the perfect salary. But nothing was different.
She focused on her pain, both physical and emotional until she couldn’t move. She was certain she was being forced into a square peg of conforming to something.
Her library contained everything and nothing. She read about Bryon, literary agents, screenplays, Disraeli's letters, plot ideas, English Lords, scriptwriting, Indian wars, antiques and Tutankhamun.
Her father was an asshole, and it was a weird thing to suddenly realize.
The months kept flying by and then it was Mr. Jones’ funeral.

The Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard will present its 2018 Spring Show and Sale May 10-13 in its state-of-the art facility at 224 Western Avenue, Allston, MA.
More than fifty artists will present an extraordinary selection of ceramic work. From functional dinnerware to sculptural masterpieces, this popular exhibition has something for everyone and attracts several thousand visitors each year. It’s the perfect place to find Mother’s Day gifts.
All are invited to join us for light refreshments at our Opening Reception on Thursday, May 10 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. The Spring Show and Sale continues Friday through Mother’s Day Sunday, May 11-13, from 10:00 am–7:00 pm.
Gallery 224, the Ceramics Program’s exhibition space, will feature work by the Ceramics Program’s fifteen Resident Artists. We celebrate this group of artists who have maintained their own workspaces within our community studio at 224 Western Ave for a four-year, juried term from 2014-2018.
A touchstone for the arts within Barry’s Corner, Allston, the Ceramics Program provides a creative studio environment for the Harvard, greater Boston, and international communities. Courses of all levels are offered over three terms a year. Recognized internationally for its leadership in the field, the Ceramics Program hosts lectures, master classes, symposia and demonstrations by visiting artists, curators and scholars from all over the world.
The Ceramics Program studio is wheelchair accessible.
Limited free parking is available in the lot directly behind the studio.
