U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers and first responders-rescuers with the South Carolina Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (SC-HART) conduct aerial-rescue training at the South Carolina Fire Academy, Columbia, South Carolina, Dec. 08, 2022. The event included a variety of training scenarios emphasizing survivor extractions in an urban environment. In addition, aircrews and rescuers performed refresher and proficiency training for the ongoing hurricane season. SC-HART is a collaborative effort between the South Carolina Army National Guard and State Urban Search and Rescue Task Force (SC-TF1) under the direction of S.C. LLR, Office of the State Fire Marshal, S.C. Emergency Management Division. The South Carolina Army National Guard contributes to the program with instructors, crews, support personnel, and UH-60 Blackhawk and LUH-72 Lakota helicopters; all military personnel and aircraft are assigned to 59th Aviation Troop Command. Community Internship Program students showcased their career internships as well as community service and projects along with their mentors at an exhibition in the Small Gym of Blythewood High School on Thursday, January 9.

South Carolina National Guard leadership and a military delegation from the Republic of Colombia meet to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the State Partnership Program (SPP) between the two organizations, Columbia, South Carolina, June 29, 2022. Since its launch in 2012, the program focused on the establishment and development of long-lasting partnerships between their respective Army and Air branches, their subordinated commands, and their service members. U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Van McCarty, The Adjutant General for South Carolina, and Colombian Army Gen. Luis Navarro lead their respective delegations throughout the celebrations and associated activities. The event’s schedule included the inauguration of the SPP exhibit at the South Carolina Military Museum, as well as awards ceremonies and workshops. Additionally, both leadership teams met with South Carolina Governor Henry D. McMaster, Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette, and other members of the state government. Victory Programs' 2017 Dinnerfest RED Party + Auction was one for the record books with a celebrity-style step and repeat, returning rock-star auctioneer Kathy Kingston and premium prizes including a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to throw the first pitch at PRIDE night at Fenway park that sold for nearly $5,000 after Dinnerfest co-chair Tiffani Faison upped the anti not once, not twice, but three times, sweetening the deal with additional goodies courtesy of her 2nd restaurant, Sweet Cheeks Q which happens to be steps away from Fenway Park, live on stage to motivate bidders! Guest who wore red, the signature color for the event, were entered into a special raffle. The event raised more than $130,000, last year's record and supports Victory Programs' 17 health, housing and prevention programs which serve more than 2,300 men, women and children annually.

Participants in the 2018 Birmingham Public Library Student Mock Trial Program present their case on March 22 in a Jefferson County Courthouse courtroom. Preparations began on January 25 at the Central Library with weekly training sessions.
The Student Mock Trial Program is a partnership between the Birmingham Public Library, the Northern District of Alabama’s U.S. Public Defender’s Office, and the Birmingham Bar Foundation. Coordinated by BPL’s Lance Simpson, the program is designed to introduce students from grades 6 to 12 in metro Birmingham to the critical thinking and advocacy skills utilized in courtroom trials.

Fifteen Soldiers from the Nebraska National Guard and one member of the Czech Armed Forces competed in the 2018 annual Best Warrior Competition, April 12-14, at Greenlief Training Site near Hastings, Nebraska. The Best Warrior Competition is designed to determine the state's top Nebraska Army National Guard Soldier and noncommissioned officer. For the second consecutive year, members of the Czech Republic have participated and observed the competition as part of National Guard Bureau-sponsored State Partnership Program with the country.
