The Orion program management team reviews the launch procedure ahead of the December 4 launch of Orion. Pictured from left to right: Mike Hawes, Lockheed Martin Orion program manager, Mark Geyer, NASA Orion program manager, and Mark Kirasich, NASA Orion deputy program manager. Orion is scheduled to make its first flight test on Dec. 4 with a morning launch atop the Delta IV Heavy. The spacecraft will orbit Earth twice, reaching an altitude of approximately 3,600 miles above Earth before landing in the Pacific Ocean. No one will be aboard Orion for this flight test, but the spacecraft is designed to allow us to journey to destinations never before visited by humans, including an asteroid and Mars. Water Canyon / Shot Canyon Route
In a place called "The Maze" getting lost could be a concern. We brought maps, compasses, and GPS yet rarely consulted any of that. We followed established routes and didn't go off trail very much.On the slick rock the routes are marked by cairns. Sometimes they're closely spaced as they are here. In some locations there was a dearth of cairns but usually in those places the path of the route was obvious.

This little boy was oblivious of other library patrons, lost in his book. I like his casual attitude and love of reading.
The library sponsors a great summer reading program for children with perks, rewards and a club to be enrolled in.

I was a Canon (fan)boy for quite a long time but I have never owned their manual focus FD line. That is, until now. :)
