Salid a recibirlo'" (Mateo 25:6). "Mis ovejas oyen mi voz […]" (Juan 10:27).

Our forests and our fields are undergoing programmed death. For the maximum economic return, to maximize profits, they are depleted, exploited and killed.

And yet it's the only thing that makes us live. Until then, we can not feed ourselves with plastic or derivatives of petrol.

Why sign their death? Why exterminate them?

When CMF series 15 and 16 came out with the cyborg figs, I thought combining them together with other parts would make a good Tron program.

PYEONGTAEK, Republic of Korea — The 17th session of this year’s Korean Head Start program took place here, Aug 29-31.

Since 2006, Pyeongtaek University has been running the Head Start Program for U.S. Soldiers stationed at Camp Humphreys, the 7th Air Force in Osan and other installations to help U.S. soldiers smoothly adjust to their new lives in the Republic of Korea through a unique orientation program. Under the program, they learn about the Korean language, history, politics, culture and society in general.

According to the Eighth Army Operations Order, this training program is mandatory for newly arriving Soldiers and authorized for Department of the Army civilians and family members to attend if spaces become available.

Sponsored by the City of Pyeongtaek and Gyeonggi Province, the program lasts for 3 days (Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) every week except for University vacations and Korean Holidays. It features classes on Korean History, government, and Korea-U.S. Relations, local life and culture, etiquette and basic Korean language. Classes are delivered in English by University professors. Moreover, everyday attendees get free lunch and on the last day, weather permitting, enjoy a field trip to Korean Folk Village where they can experience Korea’s living history and culture.

New to Korea, Sgt. 1st Class Sabrina Norris, assigned to 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, finds the program to be very interesting and helpful. “It makes me to want to explore and learn more about Korea and its culture,” she said.

Pyeongtaek University students accompanied Soldiers and family members during the field trip on Fridays. Local students share their knowledge and answer different questions about Korea and culture while practicing their English speaking skills and building new friendships.

William Jeong-U Kim, a sophomore studying American Studies at Pyeongtaek University who is starting his third semester in Korean Head Start program, said “Going to this field trip together creates a win-win situation for both Koreans and Americans. We, the students get a good opportunity to practice our English and simultaneously help American guests who are new to the country to learn about the Korean culture.”

“They have an opportunity to try Korean food and enjoy traditional Korean performances. It is also a great chance for us to interact with each other. I find this program to be very interesting and I am always excited to participate,” Kim added.

To sign up for the program, contact Head Start POC in your unit and provide your contact information to the Community Relations Officer, Kim, Kwak-hong by calling 010-8538-9485 or sending an e-mail to kwanhong.kim4.ln@mail.mil.

Think of me as programmable soda

Too much cherry?

Baby then you can just add cola

Think of me as programmable soda

'Cause you can

Can be a cruel fella

So okay, then I just back off

The vanilla

Think of me as programmable soda

'cause I've come

I've come to accept that

For lovelies you are a fanatic

But I can't

I can't let that throw me

Into a genital panic

Think of me as programmable soda

Too much cherry?

Baby then you can just add cola

Think of me as programmable soda

When you think

And boy when you drink

When you think of me

Bronze Star Medal Recipient Staff Sgt. (P) James Slough, the Harrisburg Opportunity Center assistant station commander, talks about how motivation and preparation has helped him have a successful career in the U.S. Army Sept. 30 during the discussion panel at the Youth and Education Services Career Day at the Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pa. Slough was chosen as the Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion’s Hometown Hero as part of the U.S. Army participation in the 27th Annual Toyo Tires National Hot Rod Association Nationals at the Maple Grove Raceway. Other members of the discussion panel were NHRA Seven-Time World Champion Tony “Sarge” Schumacher and -Time Motorcycle Champion Steve Johnson. U.S. Army photo by Christine June.

It hadn’t even been six hours since I had arrived back him from my trip and I already found myself glued next to one of the local mainlines.

My flight home from Chile on AA912 wasn’t terrible, somehow managing to catch some sleep in a fully packed Boeing 777-223ER, and a lengthy phone call with friends upon arriving back at Miami Int’l Airport at 05:00 would further wake me up that morning. Leaving the house to hunt some train movements seemed like the ideal plan. No room for sleep anymore; after all, the rest of the family was knocked out at that hour. I wasn’t trying to be nuisance at home.

While on the aforementioned phone call, I’d receive confirmation regarding FEC Train 101-27’s consist for the day: a complete “Champion”-painted power set with a solid train of solely intermodal traffic for Port Everglades and Hialeah. Definitely something worth photographing in this day and age of the Florida East Coast Railway. Making it out to Dania Beach around 10:00, a short waiting period would play out while waiting for 101-27 to arrive at Port Everglades and make their setout.

Bypassing the Hialeah-bound freight occupying the East Main by PEV Storage, BLF 723-27 takes on the curve—aptly named by some local buffs as ‘Dania Curve’—at Milepost 347 on its morning southbound revenue run from Orlando Int’l Airport to MiamiCentral, now five miles away from its Aventura station stop. A pair of second order SCB-40’s bracket a five-car BrightBlue train set, a shiny #BLF113 on the point of the train breezing past lush trackside shrubbery. With how regular these trains are along the mainline, they make for fantastic photo angle test subjects… you could say it was warmup. Safe to say this was one of the rare ‘keeper’ test shots from that morning.

The early 393 led me to the start path, chasing through Mechanic Falls, Oxford, Paris and Bryant Pond. Here at Mechanic Falls, you can already see the light starting to draw lower, so the challenge again this time of year is to get some great parting shots but luck was with me today as I had light all the way through Oxford. Seen at the 'Dish' Apartment in downtown Mechanic Falls with a bit of hustle.

Georgia wildflowers grow alongside an exit ramp. This is part of the Georgia D.O.T.'s Wildflower Program which began in 1974 when Virginia Hand Callaway started the movement to plant and protect wildflowers on the roadsides. Later, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter met with Lady Bird Johnson to discuss the highly-successful Texas Wildflower Program. Following the trip, the Georgia D.O.T. enthusiastically endorsed the program for implementation here.

Not only are they pretty - and sometimes stunning - to look at, the program also helps to restore and preserve native flora, and because these native flowers are already adapted to soil and climate conditions, they need little to no maintenance.

A page from the official program of the Second Atlanta Pop Festival,1970. This program was subject to change and it did. Everyone started late and many played at a different time from what was shown here. The music went until the early hours of each morning. I was a big fan of Jethro Tull but he was a no show. The Allman Brothers did start and end the show but I did not get any pictures of them - they were no so famous in my neck of the woods at that time. Jimi Hendrix did play on the fourth of July with a big fireworks show.

This is a contemporary photo of the original tabloid size program printed on newsprint. The 4 photos of the program in this set reflect the complete program except for some advertisements that I did not photograph.
