An early 80s Pentax camera which I usually keep in a drawer. It has a 50mm f/1.7 manual focus lens attached. This is a mixture of natural light and a touch of bounced flash. I'm still not sure if the darned photo is straight. I'm having trouble with that.
The Pentax Program Plus was a very advanced SLR for its time. In the early 80s the Pentax system really took the world by storm. I do not see this particular camera discussed very much on the net, though. The "Super" and the "ME" versions seems to be more popular.
I am at home sick today. I thought I'd take a couple photos and do some photo editing while I'm lying around. The decongestant that I'm on may have something to do with my inability to keep the camera level, even with a tripod. I guess I'll have to look at this again tomorrow.

The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

Giving some love to my first DSLR, the Nikon D5000, and doing some macro photography using the kit lens in reverse and photographing the mode dial of my dad's Canon AE-1. Simply because since I have upgraded to the Nikon D7200 earlier in the year, I have not been using my D5000 as much.

Buttons and program designed for a wedding in North Carolina
The couple requested tattoo designs and silhouettes in their wedding colors – orange, red and hot pink.
The programs match the invitations I designed for them.
Was gifted this camera and decided to try my hand at 35mm photography. Loving this camera so far!
Coming in at #13 on my list of photos to hit 1k views. I printed a 5x7 of this one because I liked it so much, but it looks like I'll be ordering an 8x12 of it now :) Thanks everyone.

Adobe's new Creative Cloud subscription model has led to confusion and anger among loyal Photoshop users. Now Adobe's Photography Program offers a more reasonable deal, but only for some.

Reach Out and Read Carolinas/Converse Social Systems Leadership Internships started late January, 2017. ROR Carolinas is a group dedicated to early childhood literacy programs that work with parents and children through and by partnering with medical offices, particularly pediatricians. They target at-risk children living in poverty. Witney Fisher, Kathy Good, Terrell Tracy and Jeff Barker worked to bring one of their literacy summits to Converse this past March. It was the first time they had held a summit outside of their annual meeting in Charlotte and it was a big success. From this summit, came conversation of a pilot internship program for ROR with Converse students at one of their Spartanburg locations. They had never tried internships, so the Converse team put together a program and they funded it with a grant. The books being passed out were donated by the Junior League of Spartanburg.

A row of nice big colourful textbooks on my husband's shelf. It is right next to a window and well-lit for photographic purposes. He has a shelf full of books with deep and meaningful content, but this is not it :) The depth will have to rely on the physcial shape of the books and their shadows.
Taken with iPhone 3GS.

This was banging around in my head for a few days, but seemed TOO simple. Now, I kinda like it ! Maybe that's me....simple !
I am glad that some of the old neon signs of Saginaw are being saved and brought back to life at the Saginaw Neon Park. The park is located in Old Town Saginaw at the corner of Court and Hamilton on the site of the old Fordney Hotel.

Advancing Youth Program (AYP) participant Hawa Ngfauah waits for her school to reopen. Hawa returned to her classroom February 16 after her school closed in July due to the Ebola outbreak. The USAID supported AYP provides quality alternative basic education to youth between the age of 13 to 35, including Hawa, who left school when she got pregnant at the age of 16. Thanks to USAID’s support, this program is opening doors and creating empowering opportunities.
