This year, I bought myself the Luminar program from Macphun. I played around with some older images from the outdoor memorial at Oradour-sur-Glane, France. I think that it is a great program for me and my skill level/time available to devote to learning photoshop.
The North Charleston Police Department implemented Project S.T.A.N.D (Stop and Take A New Direction) aimed at not just arresting low level narcotics dealers with little or no prior criminal history but to go a step further and help those involved in the activity change their lives for the better. This is program aimed at reducing recidivism through working on all aspects of the criminals’ lives.
This project was the focus of a Dateline NBC special entitled “Intersection” which aired on March 14, 2013.

The original cast featured Michael Howe as 'Danny Zuko' and Jacqueline Reddin as 'Sandy Dumbrowski' with Tanith Banbury, John Christie, Zelah Clarke, Paul Felber, Joe Figg, Gretchen Franklin, Hilary Labow, Val Mitchell, Andrew Paul, Richard Piper, Su Pollard, Philip Tsaras, Kevin Quarmby, Tracey Ullman and Timothy Whitnall. Directed by Tom Moore with choreography by Robert Kipp, sets by Douglas W. Schmidt, costumes by Carrie F. Robbins and lighting by Francis Reid.
This production is notable for being early stage roles for both Tracey Ullman (as 'Frenchy') and Su Pollard (as 'Cha-Cha').

Artist Biographies:
Mike Helke holds an MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Prior to that, he studied ceramics at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and spent formative years as a studio artist and employee of Northern Clay Center. Helke recently moved to Stillwater, MN, where he maintains a studio. Helke says of his work, “As a maker, the action of my hand can trace the memory or energy of an experience through elusive rhythms generated by form, positive and negative shapes, and building process marks.” Helke’s work has been exhibited regionally and nationally, most recently in the exhibition New Work—Mike Helke and Sarah Jaeger, TRAX Gallery, Berkley, CA; as part of the Artstream Nomadic Gallery, NCECA 2015, Providence, RI; and in the Yunomi Invitational, AKAR Gallery, Iowa City, IA. In 2008, he received a Jerome Ceramic Artist Project Grant, awarded by Northern Clay Center.
Tom Jaszczak received a BA in Visual Art and a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Bemidji State University. Tom was an assistant to both Simon Levin and Tara Wilson. He was a summer resident and a long-term resident at the Archie Bray Foundation. In the fall of 2015 Tom began a 3-year residency with his wife Maggie Finlayson at Penland School of Crafts and have recently become parents. Tom has received several awards and honors including, a Jerome Projects Grant, Emerging Artist Award at NCECA, Lincoln and Lil Street Fellowship through the Archie Bray Foundation and in the Summer 2014 Tom was an Honored Maker at the Maker’s Faire at the White House. Tom exhibits his work at several galleries around the nation, this includes exhibitions at the Holter Museum of Art, Greenwich House Pottery, Trax Gallery, the Pottery Show at the Old Church, Northern Clay Center and Leedy Voulkos Art Center. Tom’s current body of work is made of red earthenware and is soda fired to cone 3 with a small minimalist decorative element.

Cadets Ryan Pinewski (front) and David Palmquist (back), St. John’s University, use a stretcher to transfer heavy water jugs downfield during “The Crucible” event on April 30 at the Sandhurst Military Skills Competition. Cadet teams were tasked with physical and mental obstacles while relocating heavy gear and rescuing two combat casualties. This is what a COSI In The Classroom triple-header looks like! On September 11, 2014, COSI Outreach Educators Quincey Chambers, Erica Prange, and Katie Krenelka conducted three simultaneous COSI In The Classroom science outreach programs: "Crazy Coasters," "Crime Scene Science," and "Intermediate Robotics." All three programs took place in sixth grade classrooms at Centerburg Middle School in Centerburg, Ohio.
COSI In The Classroom offers 13 one-hour outreach programs that can take place in any central Ohio K-12 classroom.
