these wings are from a barn owl, roadkill, in the central valley of CA. I spread and pinned them to a board and am going to pack them in salt and rice to preserve them. They will go into a sculpture once they stop smelling so bad.

it seems I've lately been inching closer to completing this pet project, so I'm happy to post another image from it. :)

Cleaned up the code, yet again. Using dynamic color palettes based on a loaded image. This one uses colors from Lance's shirtsleeve.

Happy Holidays!

Woke up at 7am and took these just before sunrise. It's hard to do work during evenings now that I've taken the habit of going to bed early. Work is mostly done during mornings when the house is still quiet. Pretty stoked about getting a new studio space next month!

My first bus journey of 2025 was from Cromer (Westcliff Avenue) to Holt (Hempstead Road) and back aboard Sanders Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5TL type number 125 - SA71 SAN "Shelby Anne Sanders" these three shots taken from the front nearside top deck seat.

On a very cold January day, in this third shot Sanders MCV Evoseti bodied Volvo B8L type 127 - ED23 SAN “Erin Daisy” is captured in bright winter sunshine as it heads along the A148 between High Kelling and Bodham with the above Sheringham bound service 44 journey. Curiously, number 127 was previously captured at this location from a moving vehicle back on 7th July 2024 - see below.

Since 2023, in connection with the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm project, work has been taking place to lay an underground cable from where it comes ashore near Weybourne through to the National Grid Norwich Main Substation situated beside the A140 at Stoke Holy Cross. This has subsequently led to a number of temporary road closures across North Norfolk and associated bus route diversions. As part of the cable laying process, numbered plant access and equipment/material storage areas have been constructed at various points along the route, two of which we can see here on either side of the A148 with number 113 to the left and 114 to the right.

Played with a vase of water, some ink and post-processing. Lots of fun!

Processed and painted on.

It's interesting how most of them are presents from only one special person...
