La D445.1019 traina senza problemi un lungo treno merci da Torino per Villanova d'Asti, formato oggi da circa 35 carri, qui ripreso a Pessione, ormai a pochi chilometri dalla sua destinazione.
La D445.1019 arrastra sin problemas un largo tren de mercancias procedente de Torino y con destino Villanova d'Asti, hoy formado por aproximadamente 35 vagones, aqui fotografiado a su paso por Pessione, a escasos kms de su destino.

Beach erosion can be a problem for sea turtle nests. This is aggravated by weather events like tropical storms. Turtle researchers from Florida Atlantic University and Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex dig up a turtle nest threatened by beach erosion being caused by passing Tropical Storm Bonnie. The eggs will be relocated further up from the shoreline.

From the first roll of film I've put through the RZ since I got it (not including instants) Pretty impressed with this camera - it's quite hefty but I didn't have any problem hand holding it out and about. The rotating back is a dream to use!
A bonus "Friday Face" this week. I don't understand Japanese. However, it was quite possible to interpret what was going on in this photo.
I saw the passenger get up from her seat, but too late to get off the train at her stop. She had probably nodded off as so many people do on Japanese public transport. She walked down the train to find the conductress. The conductress very politely invited her to sit down opposite us and came back a couple of minutes later with information that she should get off at a particular station to connect with a service going the opposite way. Something was then written on the ticket which I imagine gave the lady a free ride back down the line.

It was an interesting change of topic when I recently decided to build an old Ford tow truck. I’m not much of a car builder so there’s always a bit of a barrier when its about wheels.
Soon I added a small garage, then a classic motorbike and it quickly evolved into the gas station you can see above – all clearly inspired by my friends César and Sanel who posted two equally stunning takes on the same topic not too long ago. After staring at their models for way longer than I’d like to admit I simply had to try something in the same theme :)
This one is for Ben, one of the trusting mechanics in my life. If only his garage was a bit closer to home.. Stay strong and see you soon!
La Ciudad de Santiago tiene un serio problema con el tráfico vehicular en ciertos sectores. Con un parque automotriz estimado en torno a los 2,000,000 de vehículos conviviendo en un área metropolitana de casi 7,000,000 de personas, algunos caminos, calles, avenidas y/o autopistas simplemente colapsan en hora punta (bueno, incluso ya no solamente en la hora punta), tal como expresa esta fotografía tomada en plena comuna de Las Condes, en la Avenida Manquehue, y específicamente cerca del barrio Nueva Las Condes, donde muchas empresas han relocalizado sus instalaciones.
Santiago has a problem with the traffic in certain places. With 2,000,000 cars in our metropolitan area, some roads, avenues and motorways collapsed at rush hour, like this picture taken in Las Condes neighbourhood, where is placed the new financial district.

While the sun is very high, it is still worth a shot of this rare occurrence. 68001 tnt 68005 lead the diverted 6c51 Sellafield-Heysham nukes through Barrow station, running 3 early at this point. This train normally runs via the avoiding line between Park South and Dalton Jn, but for this week only, the nukes are routed through Barrow instead for some reason. This is a very very rare occurrence and one that only happens once every few years if Dalton Jn or the Signal box ever has issues, though I'm not sure what the problem is this time around? It was nice for it to coincide with some decent weather for a change too.

Taken at the Glendale Gathering Car Show held annually in the Glendale Suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.
This show is small, but one of my favorites, because it's close, rarely do I see a car from a previous year and all are in excellent restored condition. This could easily be a small Concourse de Elegance. Storms were predicted in the morning which made me fear I would miss it, but things cleared and the show went on. From my point of view, the only problem was that we arrived much later than usual, so there were lots of people and most of the hoods were up for the judging. Fortunately, this beauty had the hood down.
Thinking back to previous years, this spot in the show seems to always be reserved for a Packard from America's Packard Museum located in Dayton, Ohio some 50 miles north. I love it as I'm a major fan of Packards and this spot is the first place we see when entering the show. What a great, eye popping greeting we got this and previous years. There are many really great cars at the show, but I would have been happy if this was the only one I got a shot of.
Due to a significant derailment the prior evening in Valley Falls yard the Providence and Worcester's nightly Worcester to Davisville road train never made it to its destination. The power and head 10 cars in front of the six (out of 61 total on the train) that derailed were cut was cut away and pulled up here south of the Blackstone River bridge and north of the Hunt Street crossing at about MP 5.6 on the historic original mainline. The power consists of three units GE B40-8W 4005 and B40-8 4001 bracketing EMD GP38 2006 the lead two still dressed in the classic scheme of the independent pre Genesee and Wyoming P&W.

I "created" this last week using Photoleap A.I. , but hesitated to post it. The intended reference was "The Apprentice", a TV show that helped made Trump "famous". Then on Easter morning I saw the obscene and threatening post that he made on social media and decided that this image is very appropriate. His action wasNOT that of a normal national leader.
When my aging mother started having dementia problems I attended a workshop related to her condition. There I learned that one of the signs of dementia was the use of inappropriate language.Trump's Easter outburst on social media was NOT a sign of a crass person. It was a sign that the 25th Amendment needs to be invoked due to his mental unfitness to hold his elected position. A number of national leaders have bluntly said the same.
We need to resolve this issue before the nation and the world experiences even worse than the present disruptions. We need to do it NOW.

Not photoshopped. A couple of times in the summer they open up the Winter Olympic ski jump training facility near Park City, Utah for people to slide down and go off the jumps (without skis). You land into a perfectly safe swimming pool, but because you're up in the mountains you can frame the picture so that only the distant valley, mountains and sky are visible in the background. It ends up looking like they're dropping from a plane wearing only a bathing suit. This is my son, I'm perfectly happy to just take pictures from the sidelines
I noticed this fallen Wisteria leaf on my frosted garden bench this afternoon, (after a night temperature of -9ºC.) No snow or hoarfrost here, just rain on frozen surfaces, making it treacherous.
I haven't been uploading recently due to health problems (with M.E.), and the trouble I've had restoring Lightroom after a major computer crash in the summer. (Still not restored fully).
I have been out locally with my little Canon G5XII, but haven't done any processing on the shots. It's also down to laziness and procrastination!
