New Arrivals - August 6 2020 - TS2 LR
Here is the view I went to capture in Iceland. It is a truly beautiful spot, but it was ruined for me by photographers being I suppose people. I hiked out before dawn the weather report was for sun the weather report in Iceland was never right but then the weather seam so local changeable by that I mean local to around 100 meters or so! Anyways I hiked out to this amazing spot I’d read about seen so many pictures of, I was the first one there I set up started taking a few shots .Just as the light was about to get interesting from nowhere carloads of photographers ruck up at surround me hedged in far enough I’ve got my spot. It’s fair game anyone can come and do this no problem then some start setting up in front of me and probably all the other ones as well! Now call me old fashioned but that’s just rude! We are all there with the same cause. So here is the image with the rude people photoshopped out lol. And please forgive my giving off about photographers! It’s a bit like complaining about traffic we are traffic… One thing it forced me off road which was a good thing to start finding spots that people didn't go to and thats when I realy started to enjoy Iceland!

This is the north end of main street on a very foggy early Saturday morning. This is quite unusual for it to be this vacant and lonely looking!
It was during our warmer and foggy weather after Christmas. Climate change . . . always a great debate!

Views in the South Wales Valleys 18 September 2020. The gaunt remains of the viaduct that carried a link from the Great Western Railway from Bridgend to Abergwynfi to the South Wales Mineral Line from Briton Ferry to Glyncorrwg. After problems in the SWMR Gyfylchi Tunnel (three miles west of here) in 1947, this was the only rail access to the pits in the valley north of Glyncorrwg. There is only one record of a passenger carrying train crossing the viaduct, but it remained in use for coal traffic until 24 August 1970.
for dinner~~~ since he was flying into the wind I had the advantage that he would come right over me....the tricky part was keeping that big yellow ball in the sky out of my picture, such a nice and unusual problem to have in our rainy west coast forests....heheh ....hope you all have a great start to 2016....
I had problems getting the color balance to be consistent. Perhaps I shouldn't use Auto White Balance.
When you can see something like this, -15ºC isn't a problem.
The first time, you can't close your mouth, it's hypnotic and absolutely incredible.
Sure? Is it real?. Yes, it's real and an unforgettable experience.

I have seen this Agile wallaby in my backyard a few times. I have spoken to the local wildlife carer and he said that the missing arm and the deformed arm was probably caused by a dingo attack. She must find it difficult to get around because they do use their arms for mobility when they are not hopping with their legs and also cleaning themselves.

We are having computer problems (haven't been able to get on all day), but it seems to be working at the moment. I think it is time for an upgrade. I will try and come back later on my hubby's laptop and catch up with you all.
Alle bisherigen Versuche, das Snowball-Problem chemisch in den Griff zu bekommen, brachten nicht den erhofften Erfolg. Der Spezialentwickler für Fomatone hatte mit einigen früheren Chargen funktioniert, mit den letzten Chargen kam die Frustration zurück.
Versuche der letzten Tage deuten darauf hin, dass die aktuellen Chargen eine starke Überbelichtung nicht mehr verkraften. Um den Grad der Überbelichtung zu bestimmen, ist der erste Schritt ein konventionell entwickelter Print (normalerweise schätze ich die Belichtungszeit für Lithprints).

Nr. 1 Fomatone 132 (Charge 080348-01) in Meritol.
Nr. 2 eine mindestens 25 Jahre alte Charge Fomatone (014326/1 exp. X.2002) Überbelichtung für Lith 3,5 Blenden, (15+15+5+700 ml) Entwicklungszeit 8 Minuten.
Nr. 3 Fomatone 132 (Charge 080348-01) Überbelichtung +1,5 Blenden (30+30+10+600 ml) Entwicklungszeit 6,5 Minuten – Ergebnis: etwas farbiger als Meritol, aber kein wirklicher Litheffekt. Ein stärker verdünnter Entwickler (wie bei Nr. 2) würde zu einer längeren Entwicklungszeit mit erwartbarer Snowball Bildung führen.
Für eine höhere Farbigkeit wird eine längere Belichtungszeit benötig, was dann aber eine höhere Entwicklerverdünnung erfordert oder mehr bremsendes D.
NR. 4 Überbelichtung +2 Blenden (30+30+10+800 ml ) Entwicklungszeit 7 Minuten – Ergebnis: heftige Snowballs.
Fazit: Fomatone-Lithprints mit hoher Farbigkeit, wie früher selbstverständlich, sind zur Zeit nicht möglich.
Aus aktueller Fertigung bleibt also nur noch Foma Retrobrom für farbige Lithprints.
Nr. 5 Retrobrom 152 Überbelichtung 3 bis 3,5 Blenden (30+30+10+800 ml) Entwicklungszeit 10 Minuten – auch bei diesem Papier können sich Snowballs zeigen, allerdings erst bei längeren Entwicklungszeiten, oder stärkerer Überbelichtung.
All previous attempts to chemically solve the snowball problem have not been as successful as hoped. The special developer for Fomatone worked with some earlier batches, but with the latest batches, frustration returned.
Tests conducted over the last few days indicate that the current batches can no longer cope with severe overexposure. To determine the degree of overexposure, the first step is to produce a conventionally developed print.
From left to right.
No. 1 Fomatone 132 (batch 080348-01) in Meritol.
No. 2 A batch of Fomatone at least 25 years old (014326/1 exp. X.2002) Overexposure for lith 3.5 f-stops, (15+15+5+700 ml) Development time 8 minutes.
No. 3 Fomatone 132 (batch 080348-01) overexposure +1.5 f-stops (30+30+10+600 ml) development time 6.5 minutes – result: slightly more colourful than Meritol, but no real lith effect. A more diluted developer (as in No. 2) would result in a longer development time with expected snowball formation.
A longer exposure time is required for higher colour saturation, but this then requires a higher developer dilution or more slowing Lith D.
No. 4 Overexposure +2 f-stops (30+30+10+800 ml) development time 7 minutes – Result: severe snowballs.
Conclusion: Fomatone lith prints with high colour saturation, as was once commonplace, are currently not possible.
This leaves only Foma Retrobrom for colour lith prints from current production.
No. 5 Retrobrom 152 Overexposure 3 to 3.5 f-stops (30+30+10+800 ml) development time 10 minutes – snowballs can also appear with this paper, but only with longer development times or stronger overexposure.

I haven't been able to spend much time on flickr lately and I will probably not have much time this month to spend on here as I just have too many problems at home and work to deal with. On top of that and Covid and wildfires, we had a major windstorm with hurricane force winds do tons of tree damage in my yard and neighborhood. We had one tree branch landing on my house and luckily not doing too much damage but there is still lots to clean up.

During the very early hours of this morning, Aurizon train 9819, led by 2313D and 2315D had a fire on board one of the locomotives which caused it to fail. The train as seen was stranded on the mainline just below the crest of Baking Board Hill. Rescue locomotives were sent from Willowburn Yard, Toowoomba, and they arrived around 1140. The several hours delay caused a choke on traffic with 9821 stranded in the Cameby Downs Mine, Columboola, train 9L10 in Chinchilla and train 9L12 at Macalister. Watco's livestock train 67S3 was also east bound on the wrong side. 9L12 couldn't travel on to Warra as the loop there has a railway crossing on it at the western end.
About a week after visiting Old Wives Lake - see previous two shots - I got up pre-dawn and drove to Chaplin and Reed Lakes. Again, the same problem: drought has shrunk them and the shoreline that used to be close to the various access points is now a hundred yards farther out, with lots of mud in between. Still, the light was wonderful that day, and there were some nice flyovers, including these Snow Geese.

The human lung is composed of small structures, the alveoli, responsible for the gas exchange of the blood. Blood flow and blood flow between heart and lungs are intense. Cigarette smoke directly affect the functioning of the heart-lung circulation. Over time the pulmonary alveolus are being cemented by the components of cigarette smoke, failing to do its function. The body will then be replaced by smaller tissue oxygenation, resulting in greater ease of tiredness for the smoker. Cigarette smoking also causes countless damage to the heart and lungs, such as heart attack and cancer.
ONR train 207 rerailed after hitting a rural road crossing thick with packed down snow and ice jumping a unit off the rails.
The other night for my photo of the Ferris Wheel, I mentioned frustrations I was having with getting the IR remote shutter release working. I was determined to fix it or ditch it....and fix it I did. In celebration we had a Mexican dinner down at Redcliffe where I shot this scene of the quite low light on the Jetty across the road. It was only 6.00pm, we got away early. Winter!
