No Labels hosted a Problem Solvers Conference in Washington DC, on March 1-2 of 2017, to let Congress know of the hundreds of citizens across this country that are tired of the political gridlock that is getting this country nowhere. We were there to let Congress know that it was time to #fixnotfight.

Every time I think of you
I get a shot right through into a bolt of blue
Its no problem of mine but its a problem I find
Living a life that I cant leave behind
Theres no sense in telling me
The wisdom of a fool wont set you free
But thats the way that it goes
And its what nobody knows
And every day my confusion grows
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
Im waiting for that final moment
Youll say the words that I cant say
I feel fine and I feel good
I feel like I never should
Whenever I get this way, I just dont know what to say
Why cant we be ourselves like we were yesterday
Im not sure what this could mean
I dont think youre what you seem
I do admit to myself
That if I hurt someone else
Then wed never see just what were meant to be
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
Im waiting for that final moment
Youll say the words that I cant say

Exposure problems? You better believe it. It was so damn hard to get the right exposure for this shot. Not an overly difficult scene but with the sun coming up directly in behind the clouds and reflecting off of the water, it made for an extremely bright sky and the highlights were practically blown out.
It took a slew of shots (15-20) from this spot before I finally got an exposure I was happy with.
Sky not completely blown, check.
Mist rising off the water, check.
Frost covered foreground grasses, check.
Good enough for me.
Out of an entire 12 pack, only 2 turned out this way. Luckily none burst.

Stray dogs are a huge problem in Taipei with packs of strays found all over the City especially close to the rivers. I was watching a pair of Carp spawning in the shallow water when a pack of dogs ran into the water and killed both fish without eating them. They killed all the spawning fish and chased off all the birds in the area before leaving. Huajiang, Taipei, Taiwan
I have a problem with my shoes. One day the sole just started to crumble. Blundstones are known for their durability and high quality so I was amazed. I e-mailed Blundstone Australia and the Dutch distributor. Only the first reacted. I will keep you updated on how the problem is going to be solved.
This is a detail of my heel.
I took a couple dozen photos this morning without a problem. Then when I went to take a few photos tonight, I noticed this line going across the screen in the EVF. I looked at the UV filter I have on the end of the lens adapter for protection. A couple of specs of dust, but no line. I took the adapter off and looked into the lens. Apparently a hair has become lodged behind the lens. This is not a scratch. Now I have to get this fixed, hopefully under warranty. At least I have my A70, but it obviously doesn't do macros as well.
This is a different color than bermuda turns in the winter. The lighter patches are the color that's more typical. Unless possibly I have more than 1 type of grass growing???
Water Project
Clean drinking water has become a global problem. But the situation is especially acute in Pakistan where more than 85% of the population does not have access to clean drinking water, while in the Tharparkar area of Balochistan people are still forced to drink water from puddles and ponds of stagnant water. Not only that, it is the responsibility of women to search for and fetch water from these dirty ponds. It is a tragedy that human rights organizations and relief agencies are neglecting the plight of these starving people.
Idarah Khidmat-e-Khalq on the other hand, has been striving day and night to provide clean drinkable water to these poor people by digging fresh water wells, as well as installing hand-operated and motorized pumps in these arid areas.
Unfortunately there is currently a problem with Flickr as many of my photographs are failing to upload.
This is one of my favourite events of the year.
It is claimed that a record 60,000 people turned out for the LGBTI+ Dublin Pride Parade on Saturday, about double the previous year’s numbers. To be honest it appeared to be bigger than this years Saint Patrick's Day Parade and it was a lot more fun.
Unfortunately I met one very nasty person who took great exception to the parade and the Indian Hippy in charge of the country.
This year I had more-or-less decided not to photograph this event because of the current heatwave. Both myself and my camera have suffered badly from overheating over the last ten days so I have decided to remain indoors as much as possible.
However when I discovered that it passed very close to my apartment I decided that it might be a good idea to go along and take a few photographs.
