The spring haven't arrived yet to Finland. No blooming to be seen so i haven't been very active with photography lately. This LE shot is from last summer. Sadly my Canon 50D's noise control even with 400 iso is crappy and i have hard time to create pleasing results with it. Even with photoshop i cant seem to fix the problems often. I now days mainly just stick to 50d+sigma 50mm f.1.4 combo, which i love. Take care!
Problem: water levels need a longer exposure, more sky needs 2 Row.

Do not eat these berries raw, cook them first. They are edible but sour and bitter, they taste better after freezing. Remove seeds, which cause intestinal problems.
With all the problems in Italy at the moment it reminded me of my last trip. The Alpe di Siusi in Italy Europe’s largest high-altitude meadow is covered in morning dew at dawn, moments later the sun melts it slowly away.

Sorry I have been absent a bit with a neck problem. Do you sometimes feel at a stalemate with your photos? I am having a real down time with not liking anything I shoot right now. I feel a bit like this lonely maple leaf I caught in the back light tonight right before sundown. I missed all of the cedar waxwings who landed way too high and flew away and just gave up:) The butterflies also refuse to come down from treetop level.
I do not know how or why the bears got into the china cabinet but there is going to be lock put onto that quite quickly. Gerrie I can most surely trust, but his other pals? I am not so sure of them.

The problem with bribing Cleo in order to convince her to pose for a photo is that she stays glued to the package with the treats and that makes taking photos quite difficult. I finally manages a photo but had to sacrifice her ears. :)

This is an image I likely wouldn't have posted, but after an interesting conversation with Flickr friend Flaushi & Friends on a swan she captured out on the ocean, I decided to share.
I had heard there was an owl at the lake not too far from work, so I decided to take a second trip (first trip was unsuccessful) after my shift to look for her. My daughter and faithful Border Collie, Bandit came along on the adventure.
After looking for a short time I spotted her out on the docks and walked around the shore trying to find a half decent angle to photograph her. In the meantime, a pair of mute swans swam over to see if we had brought them any goodies. I ignored them at first, since the owl had my full attention, but one of the two was quite persistent. He (or she) came right up to shore, stood up tall and was almost beak to nose with Bandit. Bandit was quite entertained and went into his usual OCD dance bouncing up and down on his hind legs and licking the ice at his feet. The swan wasn't at all phased and stretched out his long neck with an expectant look on his face. When he finally decided I had nothing for him, he swiftly ruffled his feathers and turned away from me. This was captured as he swam away glancing back with a look of disgust at my insensitivity for showing up empty handed.

Après une montée sans problème, le deuxième petit, nommé l'Intrépide par mon ami Sylvain, décide d'aller rejoindre sa mère dans l'arbre en face du nid....c'est là que ça se complique et notre petit nous à fait tout un spectacle, digne du cirque du Soleil...un spectacle qui a duré une dizaine de minutes mais qui nous a semblé beaucoup plus long...en arrière plan nous voyons sa mère qui le surveille.

It is a real problem, is it not? How can we come to an understanding of this utterly diverse and complicated world whilst sitting in the particularity of our home? It is true that the media, from newspapers to TV and social media, offer us a daily digest of selected information. We would, I sincerely hope, critically examine these news and think for ourselves. However, even so, we would have to deal with the selective nature of the information. We never see "the whole picture". Our knowledge, even at the best of times, is necessarily fragmentary. It is absolutely important to be aware of this limitation - it is one of the virtues that make us human.
I am saying this because AI is on the march. AI has never ever left its ivory tower, it never "left home". It never made any experiences. AI has not seen anything. It does not know how to suffer. What it does is to harvest and (often illegally) exploit printed or published materials, information it has neither created nor even collected. It does not know what it does not know. And yet AI will come up with explanations and scenarios that are untroubled by any kind of self-doubt. AI does not know when it is peddling false information. The recent wildfires in northern Portugal got relatively little coverage in the UK but were a tragedy for the country, not least because lives were lost.
While Porto was not in imminent danger, the drifting smoke from fires several miles away to the east did make for an uncomfortable experience where you could literally taste the burning wood in the air. This shot, taken at 9.30am and capturing the orange hue in the atmosphere, is straight from the phone camera without any processing other than adding a frame.
Thirty minutes later, after checking the satellite images with our Tour Agent, we set off on a 6 day ride down towards Lisbon. I can't say the first day was anything other than a tad uncomfortable - but nowhere near as challenging as it was for the firefighting teams at the heart of things gradually getting on top of the problem. Obrigado aos bravos bombeiros.
