If you go right, you'll hit the curb or get your wheel caught in the smooth crack.
If you go left, you can slip on the rails.

I had givem my old PowerBook G4 to my older son last May. This morning the display started acting up. I thought it was the LCD. Out of curiosity I did a screen capture. The display problem is captured in the image. Does this mean there is a GPU or system board issue?
Power steering module that was replaced at 45,544 miles.
Part cost $461.82
Labor cost $197.80
The problem began with a steering wheel that seemed to grab every 5 degrees or so. It was like it settled into notches. To go straight you had to go a little to the left and then a little to the right. The dealer did not know what the problem was. A couple months later the wheel started to jump back and forth while at rest or when under way. I left it at the dealer for three days and this is the part that was changed and the problem is resolved for the time being.
Here is someone else's You Tube video of the same problem that I had. It is not rare. GM is paying for the repairs according to this site. I will look into that.

I have a flare problem. How do I cure it? I've tried turning off lights, but there lights I can't turn off. I tried moving the camera very close to the glass, but the glass is double and old - I still get plenty of flare. Any ideas?
...the flare problem is not this shot - it is decent. This is from the 9th floor of the Van Vleck math building. I have a much better view from the 18th floor of the Van Hise building, but that flare...I am considering bringing a chair and towel for the light.
I want to take this at night...his shot is terrific by the way.

..and I want to take this...again his shot is awesome and gave me the idea.

Regardless of the reason for removing trees, the effects on the future of the earth remain the same. There are four main impacts of deforestation on Earth. First is an increased greenhouse effect as without photosynthesis and carbon fixation, the CO2 to O2 discussed earlier is not going on. Also notable is soil erosion, as deforestation causes excessive runoff and additionally interrupts the water cycle, which creates a drier climate overall and leads to further erosion. Lastly, is of course loss of biodiversity from both the various tree species and habitat loss of different species. All of these could have devastating effects on the earth.

Minolta XE-5
Japanese 35mm SLR. Introduced in 1975.
While checking the infinity focus of this XE-5 i discovered that its standard lens (55mm 1:1.7) .did focus quite a bit past Infinity !
So under the auto-collimator infinity focus is perfect around 20 meters on the lens distance scale.
My first thought was a bad lens, but another standard lens from my XD7, a 45mm 1:2, which I knew was perfect did show a similar deviation on the XE-5. Grrrrrrr.................
So, as the lens is ruled out, it must be a problem of the camera itself.
As I have not that much experience with servicing Minolta 35mm SLR's I tried asking on several places if somebody knew more about such deviations and about shimming the bayonet mount of one. Alas without any answer yet :-(
Still no answers after days so I decided to have a look for myself.
Here one of the 4 screws of the Bayonet Mount removed.

It could need a lot of work but is salvageable. If you look closely there is a "no parking" sign painted on the ground in front of the porch. This area is about four feet deep. This is on of my favorite parking scams and quite a few people try and get a way with it. The Police almost never issue a parking ticket to a car parked across a driveway, and I'm ok with that, so some folk put a no parking sign in an area where no car can fit and presto a personal parking space.
