This is a shopping mall in Carlsbad, California. Every time that I visit it, I wonder how it stays afloat. There is hardly anyone there!
My Portuguese Water Dog and Burmese cat wish everyone and their pets a Merry Christmas! The photo is a black and white conversion of a collage made by combining two iPhone 15 photos, one of a decorated Christmas tree with presents and one of my dog and cat sitting close together, hoping for a treat.

The turn of bad weather has meant that visits of birds to the garden have been few and far between.
However although I haven't seen any at the bird feeders or the bird bath, but evidence of their unseen visits could be found on the ground in the mornings.

In the "Old Days" when I was a young dinosaur, the question was asked "plastic or cash?". Of course over the years the question has changed to "Card or Cash?". These days, in the UK, even if you pay by cash, you are paying with plastic !

This probably does not fit the true definition of Indian Summer. But it was a beautiful day long after our first frost. Actually, this was about 4 p.m. on December 15, 2023 at Walborn Reservoir, near Alliance, Ohio. It was mostly clear, light breeze from SW, and 54°F (12°C). There are a number of meanings of the term and it's origin and history; a quick web search will fill you in. Seeds are bursting from the cattails in the foreground; maybe also worth a quick search.
