THE PRIVACY PROJECT
Companies and governments are gaining new powers to follow people across the internet and around the world, and even to peer into their genomes. The benefits of such advances have been apparent for years; the costs — in anonymity, even autonomy — are now becoming clearer. The boundaries of privacy are in dispute, and its future is in doubt. Citizens, politicians and business leaders are asking if societies are making the wisest tradeoffs. The Times is embarking on this months long project to explore the technology and where it’s taking us, and to convene debate about how it can best help realize human potential.

From nosy neighbors to paparazzi photographers, there is no privacy in the heron rookerie. But the good news is that there will be chicks soon!
just felt like creating a personal illustration based on a more editorial-esque manner.
this is loosely based around the notion of internet privacy, with more and more people sharing things on social networks private or otherwise. This image depicts a tablet as a window with the viewer pinching open the blinds in an anonymous fashion kind of like a nosey neighbour watching whats going on.
Things are starting to reopen, but still others are locked down. I think this image characterizes that pretty well with a half open window. It's the blue cloth that caught my eye. Havana, Cuba, November 2019
