Been umming and erring about which photo to pick today, but think this was probably the coolest thing I saw today at dev8d - a printer that can 'print' objects from plastic.

Stop by the bio core tomorrow after the noon time commencement ceremony and checkout the 3D printer in action.

 

Yup, I just had to have them. Separately. Sometimes I bring the scanner with me when I need to scan a lot of documents for work. As a journalist, I work with lots of documents that are yet to be digitized. The beauty of using Linux is that old hardware can still work perfectly. Plug and play. Epson printer (can't see what model) that has a continuous ink tank and next to it is a Canon CanoScan Lide 25. I have to tame the wires at the back.

Last week I took my printer apart to clean the mirrors. This picture was so I would remember how to put it back together. I think it looks really cool inside of that thing there.

He is a 72-years old Chinese who doesn’t look like his age. Staying loyal to the legacy of his father’s business, a small printing shop. He mentioned that his children are not interested to continue this family business, they prefer to work in those air-conditioned offices, not in a place where you get your hands dirty with inks and grease oil.

This managed to take all of yesterday to do, (mainly because I was trying to get a texture that complimented it)
