Just another still from my comic series, this time showing the main character Maddie Grey posing with her faithful and trusty automotive sidekick, a 1978 Leyland Princess.
Why a Princess? Because out of all of British Leyland's family cars, I give the Princess credit for being at the very least an innovative piece of kit that could have had the potential of being a world beater if more work had been done on it. The looks as well aren't as bad as many seem to make out either, especially if you view them from the front, where the light clusters, especially on the Austin 2200/Princess 2200 models like this one, make it look quite serious. Sadly the back is a bit of a hashed together let down and the fact that it wasn't built as a hatchback boggles the mind!
This is my absolute favourite photo from my weekend shooting @ ReggaeJam. It was taken in a very crowded space during Chronixx' performance while trying to get in front of the stage. Princess Theatre, Hunstanton. Opened in June 1932 as the Capitol, and designed by local architect Keeble C Allflat of Messrs Courtney & Allflat, the Princess seated 700 in stalls and balcony. A cine-variety house it has a shallow stage with flying. It has had several closures and a period on bingo, but is currently thriving with a mixed theatre and cinema use.

Chapter 1 - Walkyria’s strange family
Princess Walkyria is a fictional character, the daughter of Queen Belladonna and Prince Grimwald, a ware-drake. She resides in the royal palace of Enchantment City with her younger brother, Wyrmar. Enchantment City is known for its powerful inhabitants, including mages and witches, and welcomes various races from other kingdoms and queendoms, such as the ice-elves of Magicalu and the rock and iron golems of Wallfort, which are managed with a "chumming spell.
Walkyria developed a unique affinity for latex clothing, finding that its feel calms her and prevents her powers from leaking out when she is upset. Her father, Prince Grimwald, is the son of Blazeen, a powerful Ware-drake from Black-rock village in Hexonu, a region inhabited by a "cursed sub-race." Under a red moon, ware-drakes like Grimwald transform into a wingless-dragon, half-human form. Grimwald had named his son Wyrmar, believing he would follow this path. Queen Belladonna, Walkyria's mother, is a powerful witch knowledgeable in dark arts but has outlawed their use throughout Hexonu.
By the age of 13, Walkyria discovered her innate ability to use fire magic. During red moons, she would go underground within her palace, mistakenly believing she was the ware-drake, despite her brother Wyrmar consistently disappearing during these times. At 16, Walkyria would often remove her crown and take walks outside Enchantment City with her 13-year-old friend, Avenleigh. Avenleigh aspired to be a "latex girl" and frequently spoke of the vast jungles of Latxrubbero, located north of Hexonu, where rubber trees grow. Walkyria knew this region as the source of her latex clothing. Avenleigh expressed her ambition to one day journey to Latxrubbero and become known as "Avenleigh the adventurer"
Chapter 2 - The 3 adventurers
Princess Walkyria, at the age of 17, embarked on an adventurous journey with her 14-year-old companion, Avenleigh, and a mage knight named Irronor. This expedition was initiated by Walkyria's desire to explore the land she might one day rule, rather than being confined to a city, a sentiment Queen Belladonna had attempted to counter. Avenleigh, aspiring to be an adventurer, led the way as they traveled south to Reef-rock City, a picturesque location where the sea flows into the streets and colorful reef pools shimmer under the sunlight. The inhabitants of Reef-rock City welcomed Princess Walkyria warmly upon her arrival.
Their journey continued southwest to Mages Dan, a town characterized by its 3,000-foot height and swirling magical mist. At the base of a tower in Mages Dan, they encountered Maki, a talking dragon. Avenleigh inquired about "Latxrubbero," but Maki, who was 2,698 years old and primarily interested in sleep rather than gold or latex, claimed no knowledge of it beyond its gloss and its appeal to "pretty girls". Walkyria's question about a "ware-drake" was met with Maki's insistence on needing sleep. Despite an offer from the mages to open a portal to their next destination, the group chose to continue their journey on foot to experience the land firsthand.
Their final major stop was Magicalono City, located at the very southern tip of Hexonu. This city was home to the only latex shop in the land, run by three close friends known as the "sexy sisters". Avenleigh, captivated by the latex clothing, pleaded with Walkyria to purchase some for her. Although Walkyria had not brought much gold, she managed to acquire black latex leggings for Avenleigh. The group then began their return journey, aware that a "red moon" was approaching in a few weeks. During their stay in Magicalono City, Irronor reunited with an old friend named Vogbor, who provided them with three flying carpets to expedite their return to Enchantment City.
Chapter 3 - Avenleigh’s fairwell
When Walkyria was 18 and Avenleigh was 15, Avenleigh took on the named Avenleigh the adventurer and told she was going to Latxrubbero also known as the land of rubber. Avenleigh said went you see me again I will be a fully latex lady with all and nothing but latex outfits. She said she will return when she becomes the girl she wish to be. Walkyria and Irronor wanted to walk with her the end on Hexonu. There walked the path of Galocky which was made long ago by rock golems. The path lead long the vast mountains of Hexonu. Irronor told of many tales of the lands beyond Hexonu and said if she gos to the land of Gonzzal to not get a boat to Sea-rock castle as there is Belle-glosse i pretty powerful evil latex lass who well take the soul of any who come to her island. She was cursed 130 years ago by Monk Brother Alcuin. While there walked the path it was in the open with not much shade, Walkyria felt hot in her black latex outfit and took some clothing off making Irronor carry her top layers. Irronor did cast a spell of cold wind to cool there down. But as there got higher up Walkyria had she put her latex tops back on. She asked Irronor if he knew a gloss spell. But Avenleigh said there no one here to see how she you are. Walkyria looked about and as far as the eye could see saw a tower, She said there see, there maybe someone to see me. So Irronor cast a latex polishing spell which made her latex look super shiny and feel super smooth. When they got to the town there was no one in there. When there got to the end of the path of Galocky which took them 3 weeks they got to the River of spells and Avenleigh hugged Walkyria goodbye, Irronor held out his hands for a hug and Avenleigh then hugged him to. Avenleigh then walked over the glowing path over the river and into the colourful lands of Reeflaxio. Walkyria then got Irronor to cast a portal spell back to Enchantment City fearing the next coming red moon.
Chapter 4 - The fire within
One night under a red moon when princess Walkyria was 21 she found her bother Wyrmar was out and had changed within the market of Enchantment City. He felt beyond the city and talk had it that a hunder was after him. So Walkyria called the knights, but there where nolong to be seen. A mage said 10 kinghts had gone to deal with prince Grimwald as Queen Belladonna cast a spell to put out a graet fire. Word had it that am evil witch named Bellex cast a dark spell to get the royal family removed for having a family un-fit to lead the people of Hexonu. Only a week before a meeting was held within the high court’s of Fayano, There said Queen Belladonna of the dark arts who had made it law not to use dark arts saying she is still under the sway of black magic. Walkyria said this in untrue. Walkyria knowing the way of fire magic and knowing the lands on her walks with Avenleigh now gone to Latxrubbero to live the life as a shiny latex girl, and Irronor the mage knight. Walkyria looked for Irronor and Bellex cast a storm of light blots from the sky. Walkyria found Irronor who cast a seeing spell to find the hunter and then a portal to the hunter. The hunter was not alone but with an iron golem. Walkyria cast a fire spell on the golem while Irronor cast an ice spell on them both. But the hunter used a ghost spell. After fight for some time the clouds showed the full red moon and Walkyria did not become a ware-drake but a fire-demon. Many knew that 1,000 years ago of the line of Queen Belladonna there was a queen within Hexonu who was a fire demon named Pyralia who ruled for 490 years, this was how Walkyria treeline was born with powers used without casting a spell. Walkyria at this time become made of fire and her latex clothing did not melt. She grow long demon horns and her eyes glowed with fire. She melted the Golem and told Irronor to fear not as she is in control. There then went looking for her bother Wyrmar who was a half-dragon. The next day Wyrmar was a man again and Walkyria a sexy latex lady. Irronor kept this from the people of Hexonu but told Walkyria to tell only the queen.
Chapter 5 - Ware-drake's of Black-rock village
Leaning in, she revealed that she was a half-demon, inheriting the lineage from her mother, and explained that evil is not defined solely by the power of fire; rather, if one is evil within, that evil will manifest outwardly. Walkyria understood that the half-demon bloodline descended from a rare lineage of ancient queens. She also knew that her brother’s nature as a were-drake had been inherited from their father, Prince Grimwald, and recognized it as a curse rather than a gift. She was aware that the were-drakes resided in Black-rock Village, located far to the west of Hexonu. She spoke with the mage knight, Irronor, who had accompanied her throughout her journey, and they set out to discover the source of their curse. Along the way, they visited Potion Town, where Irronor gathered supplies he deemed necessary. After three days, they traveled west until they reached Star-Glow Town, a magical settlement visible from afar due to its nocturnal radiance. Numerous glowing orbs, conjured by wizards, hover above the town. Following a week in Star-Glow Town, which is carved into high cliffs, they descended the Stairs to the Stars and traveled south to a coastal settlement named Bay of Long Town. People traveled by boat to the beach to sit or lie down, where they sometimes encountered mermaids. One day, while Walkyria was resting on the shore, she met a young mermaid named Amaris, who claimed that she sang under the moonlight to attract glowing fish.
Walkyria and Irronor traveled west, passing the never-ending caves around the Bay of Moeman toward Blackrock Town. The Waredrakes explained that a holy monk had cursed them for failing to follow the six deities, decreeing they would be punished by the land's dragons. They recounted how the dragon Maki once resided within the town, saving them long ago from Blackbreath, an ash-mouthed dragon from the high hills; this battle stained the town’s rocks black. The people revered Maki as their savior, an act that incited the monk to curse them. The monk reportedly held the curse within a magic red crystal, said to be located on the Island of the Red Crystal, west of Reeflaxio. The monk, Brother Akasaratana, later had a son named Brother Alcuin, who cursed Belle-glosse to the Sea-rock Castle of Gonzzal. Akasaratana was the spouse of Mistress Auriel, an unholy woman known as the mother of all enduring curses. Walkyria and Irronor, aware that Akasaratana was gone, considered whether they could reach the red crystal to end the curse.
Chapter 6 - Life along the Path of Galocky
After Princess Walkyria found out she was a fire-demon and that her mother Queen Belladonna was one to and a powerful witch. She knew that Belladonna spent most of her time away from her people sending of mage knights to do her bidding. Even so Belladonna had outlaw all black and dark magic and more some after you heard about the fall of Belle-glosse the pure evil of Sea-rock castle of Gonzzal who was cursed and trapped there by Monk Brother Alcuin from Wealthhold city the capital of Gonzzal. Princess Walkyria also told her mother she knew that Monk Brother Akasaratana cursed the people of Black-rock town into Ware-drake's for their worship to a dragon named Maki. Belladonna told she spent her time within the magic volt under her palace while trying to left the curse of the Ware-drake's so she could free her husband Prince Grimwald and her son Prince Wyrmar. She also been reading on removing her own curse and no also her daughter princess Walkyria. After Walkyria found her power of fire was not only that she melted an iron golem like it was nothing but that she formed horns and turned into a demon. Irronor the mage knight who had been almost everywhere with Walkyria told her long ago that Belle-glosse became a lust demon and she was filled with sexual lust before her powers. But Walkyria feared she maybe become a lust demon due to her love for latex and the sexyness it gives her.
After this news Walkyria said the her family that as she knowns the long Path of Galocky having walked there so many times with Irronor she wanted to live within one of its watch towers. So she and Irronor set out. Many days later she got to Faro tower where lived a magical mistress named Saskia and with her lived 10 knights who looked after the tower, while Saskia looked after the knights. Saskia was once from Enchantment City but was born in Gotto-go village by the sea north to where there where now. Saskia was a pretty latex girl who was said to be so powerful in magical art that she once took down a city street when fighting a crystal dragon. Walkyria know that street where she knew the storys. Now Saskia makes sure no army’s come across the lands as Queen Belladonna put her there as her power could remove an army of none magic fork. Walkyria and Irronor stayed with Saskia for a week and Saskia gave Walkyria the necklace of control which keeps in demonic powers, but Irronor said if she needs to use her powers to just take off the necklace.
After their stay Walkyria and Irronor went on their way westward along Path of Galocky. They not met many along their way and slept in some empty smaller ruined towers. 6 weeks later there got to The last large tower of the Path of Galocky, this tower was named Dollya tower as it was once the home to the magical mistress named Dollya and a latex dominatrix who was said to be nice to all girls and ladies while having full power and control over all men, saying that all men should bow before all women. But Dollya had long gone 230 years ago, now within the tower was 13 knights. Walkyria and Irronor entered and the kights welcomed them in bowing to Walkyria and not at all to Irronor. Walkyria got these knights to make her her own tower one miles west from Dollya town where she lived in for 2 years.
Chapter 7 - Monk Brother Akasaratana's curse
Princess Walkyria, now twenty-five, informed her guardian, Irronor the mage knight, of her desire to return to Blackrock Town to visit the Waredrakes. Blackrock Town lay a few miles southwest of Dollya, accessible via a stone path descending from the Path of Galocky. As it was winter, the path was icy. Irronor cast a spell to heat the ice, jokingly suggesting that Walkyria remove her Necklace of Control to transform into a fire demon and melt the snow; however, Walkyria did not find the suggestion amusing. Halfway down the rocky path, a landslide had occurred, and a large boulder obstructed the way. Walkyria, wearing a black latex catsuit, corset, boots, gloves, and a clear red latex long coat, wished she were wearing more latex layers. They found two rock golems attempting to remove the rock, so they waited. One golem approached and instructed them to stand back, stating it was not safe. After the golems removed the obstruction, they walked with them as Irronor cleared the way.
Upon arriving in Black-rock town, Walkyria and Irronor were sheltered by a local family. Walkyria revealed her plan to break the curse, which the townspeople believed was cast by Monk Brother Akasaratana and anchored within a red magic crystal on an island west of Reeflaxio. The family warned that the crystal could not be retrieved by anyone afflicted by a curse, including were-drakes or Walkyria, a fire-demon. Irronor, however, stated that he remained uncursed, as his royal knight’s magic was reserved solely for good; he offered to retrieve the crystal himself. The proposal was presented to the town elders in the Hall of Order. A leader named Gandoffo stated that Monk Akasaratana of Alcuin must accompany the one tasked with the removal. However, Akasaratana had long since passed, and Alcuin was reportedly destroyed by the dark powers of Belle-glosse. It was suggested that one must travel to Sea-Rock Castle to confront Belle-glosse and retrieve Alcuin.
Ironor claimed that all who travel to Belle-Glosse are never seen again. However, the crystal could be removed and transported north to the Queendom of Magicalu and the sky-tower city. The Staff of Dominance holds the power to bend the will of Monk Brother Alcuin, whether he is dead or alive. Gandoffo stated that the Staff of Dominance must never be used and remains locked away. Walkyria, as Princess of Hexonu, argued that she could petition the Queen of Magicalu to permit its use once. A wise lady then questioned the implications of the Trials of Seeking within the undervaults of the Kingdom of Silverron. Upon passing the trials, one may request a single boon, provided it serves others rather than oneself. Walkyria and Irronor spent several weeks in Black-rock before traveling north to Silverron, accompanied by a powerful ware-drake named Flameburnu. Their plan involved Walkyria placing her necklace of control upon Flameburnu under the red moon. Before departing Black-rock, a woman named Flameon gifted Walkyria a long, shiny black latex coat made of thick rubber to provide more warmth than her previous red coat.
Chapter 8 - The missing queen
Currently traveling to the Silverron undervaults to undergo the Trials of Seeking, the party intends to break the ancient curse cast upon Black-rock village by Brother Akasaratana as punishment for the village's worship of the dragon Maki. The group now includes the ware-drake Flameburnu, who accompanies Walkyria and the mage knight Irronor. Flameburnu suggested that Maki could fly them to Silverron; however, Walkyria noted that Maki prefers to rest and that Silverron is too distant. Consequently, they have redirected their journey east toward the tower in Mages Dan. Ironor told Walkyria that they had wasted many days if the dragon refused, noting that a teleportation spell would have been better. However, all three knew that mages possessed many portals, but Flameburnu, being a were-drake, wanted to travel on a dragon's back.
They arrived at Mages Dan, a town situated at an elevation of 3,000 feet, where Maki lay sleeping. He awoke upon seeing Walkyria, who requested his assistance in traveling to Silverron. Maki stood, towering over them as he unfurled his 200-foot wingspan, and said, "I have not been to Silverron for over 500 years. I am certain the monks of the Temple of Youth will welcome a dragon of my size. It has been a long time since I last took to the skies, but as you are a radiant lass, I am sure my race would be happy to assist the princess of the land." Flameburnu approached Maki, saying, "I am a ware-drake of Blackrock Village. We worshipped you long ago and have found a way to rid ourselves of the curse Brother Akasaratana placed upon us for our devotion. We are traveling to the Trials of Seeking." Maki replied, "I am more willing to help now that I understand your plight, but the Trials of Seeking may not grant your desire, as they reward only the pure and demand a heavy cost." Maki then took flight, his wings generating a powerful wind that stirred a dust storm.
Given the speed of Muki, Walkyria decided to visit Enchantment City first to acquire additional latex attire and inform Prince Wyrmar of her news. Upon their arrival, the townspeople were awestruck by Muki and sought to engage with him. Walkyria entered the royal hall, where Prince Wyrmar announced that their mother was gone. Observing Queen Belladonna’s absence, she was informed by a knight that the Queen had learned of the red crystal and departed to seek the freedom of all who were cured. When Walkyria asked who would ascend the throne, the knight replied that she was next in line, as her father was also absent. Walkyria declared she would travel quickly, and Muki would carry her with haste. The knight informed her that she had eight weeks remaining, as Queen Belladonna had been missing for four. Walkyria knew the laws of the twelve kingdoms: if a monarch remained missing without word for twelve weeks or more, the crown had to be passed to the next in line. After gathering several latex skirts, blouses, leggings, a catsuit, and undergarments, she stormed out of the palace, mounted Muki, and flew north at great speed.
Chapter 9 - Trials of Seeking
Upon arriving at Silverron, Princess Walkyria admired the gleaming silver towers and temples. The monks stepped aside to provide Muki the dragon space. Muki addressed them, stating, "I mean you no harm, as I have come with the Princess of Hexonu." Walkyria dismounted, offering a friendly bow to the monks as her shiny black latex outfit glistened in the light. Flameburnu the wyrm-drake stood beside Irronor the mage-knight, who received a warmer welcome from the monks than Walkyria. Irronor told them, "There is much darkness within our world." The monk replied, "There always has been; why have you come? Do you seek to pray for this darkness to be purged?" Irronor then said, "We are here to be rid of a part of the dark, not all of it." The monk looked to Flameburnu and said, "The ware-drakes. You come to enter the Trials of Seeking. You may all try, for it only gives to the pure. I deem you the one to enter, but I want you all to try, as those who think they are pure are not always, and those who think they are not, sometimes are." The monk led them to the trials. Flameburnu entered and, after two hours, emerged with no success. The monk then said to Walkyria, "Remove your necklace of control." She did so, giving it to Flameburnu, and the monk said to her, "In you go."
Walkyria entered what appeared to be the Path of Galocky in Hexonu. She beheld the Dollya Tower, once home to a powerful latex dominatrix. Amidst a storm of lightning, she approached the structure, but suddenly found herself within the shimmering Trials of Seeking. A goblet of liquid youth rested upon a silver pillar; she recognized it, knowing it would enhance her beauty tenfold. Tempted, she scanned her surroundings for observers, only to discover a radiant red crystal and the Staff of Dominance. She then gathered her belongings and returned to the Path of Galocky in Hexonu, outside Dollya Tower. This time, the rocks and soil were embedded with red crystals, the town had been transformed, and the sky was darker.
Seeking shelter from the storm, Walkyria entered the tower to discover a throne of shimmering red and black, adorned with latex accents and a polished black crown. Beside a goblet filled with the elixir of youth stood a mirror. She called out, but the chamber was empty. Feeling as though she had been there for an hour, she sensed she was the only soul in existence. She tried on the latex clothing, loving the feel and the look in the mirror, and forgot why she had come. She placed the shiny black crown on her head and drank from the goblet. Gazing into the mirror, she admired her beauty, sliding her hands over her perfectly smooth, latex-clad body. She sat on the throne, drinking more of the liquid youth and becoming increasingly alluring. Admiring herself in the mirror, she asked, "Who is now the fairest in all of Dommalex?" She took the staff with a giggle as her demoness form emerged and her horns grew. She sat on her throne, gulping down the remainder of the goblet filled with the liquid youth. Everything vanished. She saw two gateways: one representing absolute power and sovereignty, the other leading to the curse. Choosing to confront the curse, she was expelled from the Trials of Seeking. She walked to Irronor, weeping, and said, "I am a failure; I am unfit to be a queen." Turning to Flameburnu, she added, "I am so sorry; I have failed you."
The monk told Irronor he was next, and Irronor entered. While waiting, Flameburnu said to Walkyria, "It showed me things I desired. At first, I resisted, but I eventually forgot my purpose and accepted them." Walkyria replied, "It did the same to me, though I could never speak of what it revealed." After two hours, Irronor emerged; he appeared untroubled and happy, having passed the trial. The monk commended him, noting that if he ever wished to become a monk, he was welcome, as all monks must pass this test.
Chapter 10 - Queen Walkyria
Now aged 26, Walkyria returned to her palace in Hexonu. Finding her throne vacant, Irronor insisted that she must rule the land. He declared his intent to travel to the Red Crystal to remove the curse with Flameburnu, the wyrm-drake. Reluctant to become queen, Walkyria informed the high monk that she would accept the throne. She remained concerned about wielding power as a sub-raced demoness, especially after succumbing to greed and vanity during the Trials of Seeking in Sliverron the previous year. Her land remained at war with rock golems, and she was aware of the Golem Wars occurring in the far north within the kingdom of Wallfort, where a new monarch, Queen Domina, had ascended the throne. Understanding the nature of the golems, she devised a plan, believing that both queens could assist one another and establish a formal alliance.
On the day of her coronation, she wore her most stunning latex ensemble, complemented by flawless hair and makeup. She appeared both powerful and alluring, her attire polished to a high shine befitting a queen. She walked the red carpet flanked by elite mage knights. Irronor stood on one side of her throne, while the high monk stood on the other. Walkyria took her place, surveying her people with a commanding presence. "All hail Princess Walkyria," the knights shouted, followed by the acclamation of the people. Valkyria sat on her throne as the monk placed the crown upon her head. "All hail Queen Valkyria," they shouted.
Irronor bowed low and asked if he might depart upon his quest; Walkyria consented. Irronor stated, "I shall return, my lady," causing Walkyria to giggle before he departed. Later that day, Walkyria exited her palace, still dressed in her shimmering latex royal attire. The historic Princess Theatre, located on Whyte Avenue, was built in 1915. The original auditorium, with a balcony, is still much the same as it was originally built.
An intimate 90 seat screening room has been added to the basement. The main auditorium is partially wheelchair accessible (rest rooms are upstairs) but the downstairs theatre is not wheelchair accessible.
It is the only theatre in Edmonton to have a Cry Room. It is a sound-proof viewing room in the main theatre equipped with volume control and a change table; ideal for families.
