Big South Fork NRRA
Yamacraw, KY
A very finicky waterfall in the Big South Fork. This is different every time one visits it, more so than any other falls I know of in Kentucky. I also found out how great of a wildflower hike this is in the spring, sort of. I was about a week late for the peak, but I still saw Yellow, Southern Red, and Southern erect Trillium, Geraniums, Dwarf Crested Iris, Cream Violets, just to name a few species.
The most spoilt cat you'll ever meet in your life. Princess is one of the animals I met during my workaway stay i Kenmore, ON.
My lil princess she's so pretty to me, to me, to me..It doesn't matter what everybody sees..She's so lovely when she comes to me ~!

The Princess Bride evokes a nostalgic feeling in me...it was a time when I was young and also before I even knew that evil people like Trump existed but Prince Humperdink did seem pretty bad.
Chiditarod is a magical time space where all elements of pop culture share the same space in order to raise money for charity but one thing I've noticed is how current fads may come and go but the older films and references are solid and return.
When someone asked me what my favorite cart was for the year, I told him I supposed it was The Princess Bride because of my fondness of the film. He didn't understand why so many girls liked the film. I told him it was because it had everything-mystery, romance, dueling, battle of wits....what film has a fire swamp and a slow tolerance to iocane powder in the same film? Plus, Andre the Giant!
But, I admitted it wasn't a perfect film. For one, there's no people of color in the film aside from Mandy Patinkin who is Jewish and when Andre the Giant puts on a "Holocaust Cloak" it is (rightfully) scary but also black and this isn't lost on me. Why is black scary?
Anyway, if we lived in a perfect world where I was still a kid and racism didn't exist, the Perfect Bride would be closer to perfect as well.
I still really loved this cart. But, it wasn't the cynical every day me who loved it. It was the child in me who wanted the world to be a better place.

During my stay in southern Kentucky last week, I did manage to get in a few waterfall hikes. Princess Falls was definitely on the agenda, as I had seen many beautiful photos of it. The falls are found at the end of an approximately mile long hike from the Yamacraw Day Use area along the Big South Fork River. We passed multitudes of wildflowers along the way to the falls. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, the falls were bathed in morning sun, which aren't the optimum conditions for waterfall photography to say the least. Disappointed, I weighed my options. Any kind of attempt at a long exposure would've been futile. as I only had one 3 stop ND filter in my bag, and my lens only has the capability of stopping down to F/16. I decided to try a few shots from underneath a cool rock ledge, shielding the lens from the bright morning sun for the most part. I spent probably all of 10 minutes shooting before heading back down the trail to shoot another smaller set of falls which was still in the shade. I can't wait to come back to see this one when conditions are slightly better!

Chau Chau Kang Nilda - The picturesque mountain behind Langza village of Spiti region. Its name means - the princess mountain on which the sun & moon shine. This was taken a day after full moon at 10 PM in the night.
Princess (looking like a princess) is waiting patiently to begin our hike. Our friends lived on the top of the mountain and didn't have neighbors close by so we never bothered to lock our doors. Just before this photo was made, she had pryed open the sliding glass door and woke us up with her cold, wet nose to let us know that it was time for morning "din din" and a hike. She tickled us because at times she would proudly carry a good size rock for the whole hike. A sweet, sweet doggy and, despite her size, she was a BIG time "cuddle-poo."

There was 2 cruise ship coming this day to La Baie, so I had set up my alarm early enough to drive, hike and shoot sunrise vs ships BUT....I snooze 2 times, I was too tired, do not really matter...the ships did not stay long since there was stron winds, I did not set my tripod because it was so strong it would have blown away camere with tripod, I felt I was lifted 2-3 time by the wind gust.
It was really nice being out there looking at this view, who car about the wind....Ruby Princess
Cosplaying as the classic image of Princess Leia from A New Hope (Star Wars). This is the first time I cosplayed as her.
I've made the dress, the belt and painted the gun black. The gun is really Han Solo's gun. Leia should have Stormtrooper's gun.
The updo is a blend of my own hair and fake hair lengths mixed and rolled up and pinned with 100's of pins.
As I posed at a cinema so it was probably at some premiere, I think it was Attack of Clones so it must be 2002?
Of course I struck same pose as with the Mara picture. :P
As a total I've cosplayed about 5-6 times as Leia. About 4 times with the complicated hairdo. I think I went to both premieres (Attack of Clones and Revenge of the Sith) in this getup, as well as two conventions. And then some gatherings without the hairdo. The dress got dirty at the end, it is hard to keep a white garment clean, even with laundry detergent...
Mixed success with this catch, but at the time ALX400 at TB were about to go and one on 261 was imperative to capture

Some other celebrities who constantly invade my home are the Disney princesses. What could represent a princess better than a full twirl top? Of course, the top is long enough to be worn as a dress alone, but it was cuter to add the denim capris and applique a different princess on both sides of each leg. The golden crown appliqued to the bib of the top has sparkly rhinestones, and the buttons on the straps look like glass jewels.
A few weeks ago I posted a gorgeous photo of one of your fine ships - the Carribean Princess - sailing into a sunset, and offered all rights to that money-maker for only one free cruise. Then a week later I threw in a second shot for just a couple of balcony rooms for me and a few flickr friends. And oddly enough I've not heard a word from you. So here it is - my last shot. This photo will have people standing in line to sign up for a cruise. So all three photos for a quick around the world tour for a few flickrites. Such a deal!

The Princess Theatre is the oldest surviving cinema and theatre in Edmonton, located in the heart of the historic Old Strathcona district, on Whyte Avenue.
Key Points:
Historical Significance: It was constructed by John W. McKernan in 1914 and opened in 1915. It is a registered Provincial Historic Place and was considered one of the "most complete and beautiful" buildings of its kind in Western Canada.
Architecture: The three-story building features a symmetrical façade clad in British Columbia marble with classical detailing, originally including the main auditorium and a basement billiards room.
Function: Originally devoted to "high class moving pictures," vaudeville, and musical concerts, it temporarily closed in 1958 due to competition from television but was later restored and reopened. Before the COVID-19 closure, it was known as a two-screen art-house cinema (the main theatre and Princess II in the basement).
Current Status: The theatre temporarily closed in 2020 due to the pandemic, and the building has since been listed for sale, prompting community concern about the future of this cultural icon.
