I think it was only around 6:30p.m. at this point, our meetings start at 7:00 but some girls have to arrive in "guy mode" and then find a room to change so they get here an extra hour or so early. Some of the other early arrivals are behind me.
The reason I am here so early is because I wanted to take outside pics in my blue outfit. [ which I did, and I have been posted pics of that. ]
I have always had the luxury of doing my primping at home but for the December meeting, I have mandatory I-car classes [For work] all day. It should be done around 5:00p.m. and it's about 10 miles away from the meeting place. So, if I tried to dive all the way home, then change, drive all the way back, I might make it by 9:00 which is when the meeting is officially over, [ although some of us always stay later, usually 11:00 ish]
I will be one of the girls that has to arrive early and the "change" for the next meeting. I hate the whole idea of it myself, but, a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do.
You have decided to plan a day out trying to portray yourself as a female as best as you can. The evening before you give yourself a manicure and perfect polish, make sure you are silky smooth all over before stepping into a scented warm bubble bath and relax with a nice glass of wine. After drying yourself off you dust your body with sweet smelling powder and then slip into some sensuous and slippery lingerie. You go through your closet to pick out your outfit, heels, lingerie, and accessories for your outing. You spend the remainder of the evening leafing through current fashion magazines looking at the latest styles and fashion trends before retiring to a blissful sleep with anticipation of the coming day.
You wake up feeling refreshed and feminine with a bounce in your step and smile on your face. The day is here and you run your checklist in your head to make the most of it. You bathe, primp, and perfume your self before putting on your panties and bra and set about to do a great makeup job for your transformation. Satisfied with the results you begin the process of putting on your outfit, adjusting your accessories, and doing your hair. It's about time to go on your shopping journey and you check yourself in the mirror about 100 times. You load your purse with everything that a girl will need and cautiously step out of the door and into your car. As you are driving there you now have the realization you have entered the public world as a female and your natural movements and reactions change to meet how you are dressed. You notice other women driving to wherever they are going and you notice men in cars maybe looking over as they do admiring your womanly image.
You arrive at your shopping destination and your heart picks up a few beats. You are excited but also nervous as the time has come to exit your semi protective shell of your vehicle and present your female self in real life! You check your makeup, hair, and make sure all clothing is in place and next thing you know you are out and walking towards the stores. It feels like a good dream you are having but you know it's real. Very real. Your mind plays tricks with you and you think people are going to stop and stare at you but that doesn't really happen. Oh sure, some women will look at you but that's because women check out other women judging their style of fashion choices, it's natural. You enter the store and find the closest mirror to once again check out your appearance. You scan the store layout and get a plan of action going on the fly. First you check out the handbags and all the amazing varieties there, and then over to the shoe department. You look at some styles and when you are asked if you need some help you have already decided an a few you want to try on. They bring them out and have so much fun trying them on, walking around in them, and seeing how they look on you. Now over to the clothing sections (usually the dress dept. for me!) and you look through the selections with other women all around you. Women are very focused here and they are not paying attention to what you are doing and you are fitting in as one of them! You are dressed similarly, wearing the same types of clothes they are, and displaying the same interest in the fashions. You pick out a few things to try on and go over to the dressing room area and get shown a room to use. This is major acceptance of being a female and you sure feel it! Even if you don't choose anything to purchase just trying on different styles gets you on a great high. Ending this store visit at the cosmetics counters is a really great experience. All of sudden you realize that you are getting MORE attention from the consultants than the other women there! Maybe it's because they think you need their help more or maybe they figure you're more apt to buy beauty products from them but it's another good feeling. I have learned more about makeup products and applications from these people than anywhere and they always offer to re-do something on your face so you can see the difference. It's enjoyable to sit there and have people look at what they are doing anyways!
Time flies when you are having fun and now for another cool experience is finding a nice spot to refuel. You go into an eatery and maybe have a light salad dish and lemon water with everyone treating you as the lady you appear to be. Now with your female confidence built up you decided to push the envelope and step out into the crowded mall, walk around and stop in some stores. I have shopped in the malls a lot and not just for clothes. I have shopped for beauty supplies, home furnishings, electronics, and being gutsy perhaps a shirt for "him" which is a unique experience as you are bound to be waited on by a male sales person! As hours zip by and you are planning to head back home a certain urge to continue your girl's day out takes over. Could I? Should I? Oh why the heck not! You decided to further immerse yourself into femininity and take the chance on going to a upscale happy hour!! I have to tell you that some of my best social outings have been at these venues! That same exciting and nervous feeling as earlier when you first exited your vehicle happens all over. As you take a seat at the bar people will check you out more so than at a store or in a mall. That should be expected as you are now in a more social gathering spot and everyone is under more scrutiny. You keep a smile on your face and initiate conversation with bartenders, servers, and other patrons and now all of sudden they are eating out of your hand. People have interest in unique and "different" types of people. Some won't know your aren't the genuine article and some of course will know but if you are pleasant and interesting it all goes really well! I have met so many nice people this way and I tell them the truth about what and why I do what I do and have had very positive reactions from both males and females. After some social intercourse and being on cloud nine you realize you have been out in the world as a female for some 9 or 10 hours! You drive home in the happiest of moods and when you sit back and reflect on the days events you just have to pinch yourself to make sure it was real. It was real, very real, and you understand what it feels like to be a female! If you are still reading this, kudos to you and you probably understand my need to ramble on!!
Not sure I like this tagging thing! I came back from a nice walk on the beach today to find I've been tagged about 4 times, so here it is! It's the best your going to get! lol! It's me sat in front of the puter with a bit of unusual sunshine stuff through the window.... You can look away now! ;o)
So here's the game:
1. Sit down.
2. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF RIGHT NOW. Don't primp, just snap one!

Eastern bumble bees often take breaks from gathering pollen and perch somewhere to "primp" It was early morning and this one perched on the front of our white RV, making a very interesting photo. Only minor exposure adjustments and a crop. Bombus impatiens.
Primped up Ceylon and thought we would go take some pics at Backdrop City...Love this look.

The www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=62176923&size=o This gecko would never be caught with its tongue out, and prefers to groom and primp in privacy. If you use your imagination just a wee bit, you can make out my reflection in the eye of this well-bred fellow.
So just to prove I didn't cheat..here I am in my kitchen using my laptop's camera....a little lipstick would have been good...See my pink tulips? ... more of them to come shortly!

Just 20,000 of this retro-styled coupe were produced in 1991, reminiscent of a Goggomobil and exclusively for sale in Japan, but down the years quite a few made their way to Europe, where they became a trendy buy for creative and media types and the like. Considerably less common in the United States, but this primped example was showing its stuff in St. Pete Beach. Underneath that pretty bodywork is a Nissan Micra.

I made this video when I returned from a night out at Gigi's in Detroit., March 20, 2010.
I'm touching up my make-up, and added lip gloss for the rest of the photos and videos I took. I tried to keep my video rated G, so there isn't any issue when I post it on U-tube.
I edited another, and will post it soon...

Chosen as a persona favorite because, "My Favorite for a few reasons, first, it's difficult to shoot multiple dolls (or people) and have everyone come out in focus. Second, I was completely surprised by the outcome with a painting for a backdrop, it just gave it an older feel/nostalgic look I didn't expect. Natural poses just gave it a more realistic feel and really just worked and didn't convey through the lens of the camera like it did when downloaded.

Here's Skipper and Scott in their 'date night' finery! 😛 The skirt is actually just a wrap-around piece of cloth with a metal snap fastener in the back, which is odd... maybe it's because she can easily whip it off to go skateboarding in an instant! LOL I also tamed Scott's hair a bit... gave him a 'blow-wave' similar to the one I used to have back in 1980. 😛 Sport n' Shave Ken is chaperoning, as he does look like Scott's older brother! (I had to include Skipper's other accessories; - that hand mirror and brush ... even though it's a bit odd she is primping and preening on the dance floor! LOL)

The lake was almost a mill pond and the vibrant colors of fall appear to be primping themselves for the last few days of fall. A wind storm is supposed to hit this area and in the next few days these leaves will be in the lake or on the ground.
"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.”
~ Audrey Hepburn
Numerous jokes have been made about me being a lady of leisure, and it’s true! I am indeed.
In the evenings, you’ll usually find me lounging on the sofa with a glass of wine.
My daughter knows that I’ll be taking a bubble bath between the hours of 8 and 9.
I spray my favorite perfume on before going to bed and first thing when I wake up.
And, the thought of being in a hurry rarely crosses my mind.
Yet, my house isn’t falling apart. My daughter is functioning quite well in society, and I have a thriving business. Actually, when I think about it, I am amazed!

“Paul Carl Stahr Jr. (1883-1953) was born in New York City. He studied art at the National Academy of Design where he graduated with honors. In 1905 he also studied at the Arts Students League. In 1913 his drawings were published in the ‘People’s Home Journal,’ and this began his career as a magazine illustrator. Stahr’s work would go on to appear in several other magazines like ‘LIFE,’ ‘The Saturday Evening Post,’ and ‘Collier’s’ regularly.
“During World War I, Stahr began painting posters for organizations like the Red Cross, Liberty Loans, and National Defense. Starting in 1924 he spent 10 years creating pulp magazine covers for ‘Argosy Magazine.’ He also painted a few book covers, including ‘The Big Sleep’ by Raymond Chandler. . .

Here is a little worker bumble bee of the west coast variety: Bombus melanopygus. Found in one of the San Francisco gardens that Jaime Pawalek does her bee research in. Long hair that is difficult to primp properly once it has gotten wet. So it goes.
