That was the day it rained and I went out with my camera ...
The saucer magnolias in DC are my favorite - even better than the cherry blossoms in my opinion. These are at the Enid A. Haupt Garden at the Smithsonian castle!
I made a crochet hat and mitts and just couldn't find a model so Daisy stepped in. aka... she took off to her favorite chair with the hat so I dressed her up in the set.
Occasionally, Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa) exhibit pink or purple or lilac tinges. Here between Grindon and Wetton, Staffordshire
This cactus bloomed not one but eight pink flowers for the very first time yesterday! More to come in a few days. :D

Happy Pretty Pink Tuesday!
What I wanted to see more than anything at the Shedd Aquarium was the new Jellies Exhibit. Most of my photos were blurry as I was being rushed along by my nephews. So I plan to go back this week for some better photos.
However; I did manage to get a few that I was able to rescue slide! The tanks were all lit up with brightly colored lights and this particular tank was a bright orange. I pulled the image into Lightroom (way out of my comfort zone) ... and I really liked what all that rambunctious sliding produced! Think bubblegum!! Think pink! Think pretty in pink! Think the 80s! Think the Psychedelic Furs!

I've had a severe case of cabin fever due to my recovery from surgery and I just had to get out and shoot something today. I ventured down town to the state capital grounds and found some lovely flowering trees. They are almost done though because the petals are really falling. There was also a pretty cool abstract fountain that I will post for you to see as well. It wasn't a big outing, but an outing that fulfilled my need to shoot something :)

The photo is from January 2014 shopping at Sak's 5th Avenue. I had been living in Florida for about a year and it was the month I reached my weight loss goal of 50 pounds ! A lot of swimming and bicycling every day and cutting down on calorie intake.
I was walking around the store looking at all the pretty dresses and it was pretty sparse of shoppers being mid day mid week. An over jealous but nice sales woman approached me for help as I was looking through the dresses. I had picked out 2 dresses that I really liked and she took them from me and set up a try on room for me in the dressing area. I tried them both on and when I was taking off the second one she was at the door of my room and said "Lisa I found a dress that I think you'll like, may I come in give it to you?". I opened the door still in the 2nd dress I had tried on and handed me this pink dress. She said she will be right outside if i needed any help. Now with my new slimmer figure I was only wearing under my clothes sheer to the waist nude pantyhose, a pretty panty under the hose, and a matching bra with my NU-BRA stick on silicone boobs. I took my bra and hung it up on a peg as the back of this dress was revealing and I didn't want to see the bra straps. I stepped into the dress and slipped it up into place. She knocked on my door and asked how I was doing and I told her I just need to zip it up. She said let me help you with that so I let her in. My back was to her but it felt so deliciously feminine to have her help me with a bare back and she could see the back of my pantyhose and panty while she zipped me into the dress.
I came out of the dressing room area onto the sales floor and she said the dress looks wonderful on me! I told her I had lost a lot of weight and asked her what size is this dress. She said It's a size 10 and I almost fainted at those words !!! She went to say I could try an 8 on to see the fit but wouldn't go up to a 12 as it would look baggy! I couldn't believe that I was talking to a sales woman who was asking if I wanted to try a size 8 dress on! I told her I think this size 10 is fitting rather well and she agreed. I walked around in this dress for a good 1/2 an hour perusing the racks for other dresses and in fact another sales woman came by to chat with the woman helping me and upon seeing me she said "That dress looks so darling on you!". Ok music to me ears and I joked back "And look I already have the heels for it"! I asked my sales woman if she could take a few photos of me in the dress and she happily obliged continuing to be chatty (hard sell here) saying I could wear this dress for a dinner date, evening affair, or a luncheon !
I ended up not buying the dress telling her I have to think about it. I would have bought it right away but it did have a hefty price tag on it! Still it was a memorable time wearing this dress and a feminine rush of an experience being seen almost naked in the try on room, having such nice things said to me, and wearing a size 10 dress ! She ended up giving me her business card and making me promise to contact her if I decided to but it! I promised I would and left floating on cloud nine ! I am sure you girls understand the amazing feeling I experienced ! And thank you in advance for reading such a long post !
