I had something else to post today for Mothers Day, but I've been working on this for awhile and finally got it to the point where my daughter (she's the pro when it comes to portraits and skin tones) loves it and finally so do I. When it comes to kids you wouldn't think getting a portrait right would be very hard. Well for me it is, at least getting it to the "look" I wanted.
I know most people think they got the best mom ever, well sorry it ain't so. Me and my three siblings have that honor. But I must admit I'm biased and hope you all are lucky enough to feel the same about your mom. Dad's are pretty great too, but mom's... well they're in a whole different universe.
Happy Mother's Day to all our mom's and little mom's to be.

Miss Mary wouldn’t be seen dead in Margot’s rain hat. Her hair is pinned to perfection and deserves to be seen. Her blouse is already see-through and her shorts are gloss PVC… hell, she’d look just the same amount of sexy-sass even if she was drenched by rain ️ 💕

As I tried to concentrate on taking this, I had to stop on a number of occasions so that other visitors to Monet's gardens could get past. A bit of a pain but I'm glad I persisted 😊
The shot is a mix of 4 multiple exposures twinned with a little bit of movement to give it that painterly feel.
Looking at the rest of my shots that I took, this is probably the most in-keeping and impressionistic...I hope Mr Monet would have approved.
Hope that everyone is enjoying their week end. It was spring like today...so I thought I'd post something "springy."
My newest Pink Asters blooming in my front garden. They are so uplifting to enjoy when others blossoms are done for the season. Happy Sunday my friends, enjoy =)

Down for an early morning jaunt to Islandhill before heading to work, out onto the causeway as the sun was coming up but not to photograph the island but to go left across the lough and catch the lovely pink sky I spied on the way down :)
I am hiding in the bushes so you can't see me.
This image was captured on the roadside between Cunnamulla and Bollon in South West Queensland, Australia. Had many sightings of the Major while driving this stretch of road. This one is a beautiful female which is determined by its brownish eye.
Major Mitchell’s Pink Cockatoo (Lophochroa leadbeateri
Cacatuidae).
Named after one of Australia’s first explorers of the inland, the Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo is much less raucous than its Sulphur-crested cousin. Its plumage features delicate shades of pink as well as a colourful crest, making this species one of the more attractive cockatoos. It spends much of its day feeding on the ground with other cockatoos (though usually separate from them) or in trees or shrubs.
A denizen of the inland, Major Mitchell’s Cockatoos live in arid and semi-arid regions of Australia, where they generally inhabit wooded habitats. They require trees in their surroundings, because they lay their eggs on a bed of rotting wood at the bottom of a tree hollow, and they also often feed in trees. Like other species of cockatoos (and corellas), Major Mitchell’s Cockatoos often occur in flocks, but unlike the other species, these flocks are seldom large. (From Bird Life Australia)
Captured with the Nikon D810 camera and Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 lens.

Taken a couple weeks ago while in VA on vacation. I don't see many dogwoods in VT so I couldn't get enough of their beauty. This is pretty in the lightbox.
