Let’s dispense with the formalities, this is one cool machine! Equipped with the Volvo D13, we left understated at the curb and replaced it with precision and performance. We could extol all the virtues of its 500 horse power fuel efficient engine. The 1750 lbs of torque or the hand crafted cockpit all designed to provide you with the ride of your life. Or we could simply invite you to take it for a spin. Launch pad not included…..

From Dave Gill:

Congratulations to all participants!

It’s my pleasure being associated with the North Carolina Bike MS this year! As time allows, I couldn’t be more pleased continuing to bring my services again in the future!

I’m an Event Photographer centered in Raleigh, delivering captivating images of human emotion, beauty, and connection specializing in weddings and other special festivities. Keep me in mind for your event too!

Over the years I’ve covered stories on assignment concerning the environment, politics, special events, and bicycle races for the AP, UPI, Reuters, McClatchy, and Gannett.

Regarding bicycling, my stories and images have been featured in Pezcyclingnews.com, with further contributions to Cyclingnews.com, Velonews.com, CyclingWeekly.com, Velonews, and Bicycling.

i've never really liked stratocasters,

but fender makes a wicked bass guitar. here is mine.

i'm playing a show at goose lake father's day weekend

and had to get it out of the closet and wipe the dust off it.

i think the last time i played bass on stage in front of people

was back in 1997 or 1998 at the flight deck in jackson, mi.

anyway, here are a couple of fotos

it's a fender precision plus bass. i believe it was made 1990

and i purchased it in 1995. it came with a precision and a jazz

pickup. it has a blueburst finish.

My wife showing how clever she is, tiling our kitchen windowsill.

We have waited for the best part of four years to get a professional in to tile our kitchen. But, after all the problems we have had with our current batch of builders, we decided to do it ourself. The end result was to wonder why we waited so long, my wife did a fantastic job. It did help that we had the kit of a professional tiler to 'borrow' when he had gone home, (like his electric disc cutter and self levelling laser spirit level) and his free advice too, (such as using that wooden baton as a levelling device.)

Jack Da Ripper kept a room at the Huntington for his city visits. He occupied his time watching TV soaps until a heavy fog set in, collected his surgical tools and wandered the city streets shredding newspapers, sometimes, just removing center sections of the Sports section with the precision of a scrapbooker.

This is a photograph from the 1st round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 6th May 2015 at 20:00. This year the 5KM was ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. Tonight the final 1KM stayed within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification meant that the race offered a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years.

The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 350 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was perfect for running with sunshine with just a little breeze. The new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 has started off successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series.

The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.

We have an extensive set of photographs from tonight in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/16772614064/

Timing and event management was provided by Precision Timing. USING OUR PHOTOGRAPHS - A QUICK GUIDE AND ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?

Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share directly to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

This is the fourth in my army tag series. Inspired by the suave style of the men from the series "Mad Men". I really love the look of a man in a suit. Especially an old style suit with a lovely handkerchief in the breast pocket and a fedora on the head.

This sterling silver dog tag was handmade by me, and the inside graphic of the business man was also hand cut by me with great precision!

This is a photograph from the 41st Rennicks Cup and 38th Father Delany Cup 5 Mile Road Race and 5KM Fun Run organised by Bohermeen AC and held at Bohermeen AC, Ardbracan, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 8th of September 2013 at 12:00. This is great local club support as the race forms part of the Meath Road Race League.

Electronic timing and event management was provided by Precision Timing [www.precisiontiming.net].

The wonderful atmosphere, the great racing and participation, the work by the club, Meath Athletics, and the local community are a great tribute to the resilience and long tradition of this race. Congratulations to everyone involved. Everything that is good about grassroots athletics and running in Ireland is always on show in Bohermeen.

Bohermeen AC can rightly claim to be one of the most active accredited race organisers in Ireland. In the Spring they host their Spring Half Marathon (see www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157632906920970/), in the summer they host their Patrick Bell 5KM Road Race (see here www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157634010225199/), with proceedings finishing in the early Autumn with the Rennicks Cup. Astonishingly over their 3 race series this year Bohermeen AC have had a total of almost 1,500 participants. These numbers speak for themselves with the proceeds of these races going directly back into the athletics club and grass-roots athletics in the county.

This is photograph is part of a largest set of photographs from the start and the end of the race which are organised into the following Flickr set [http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157635427779978/].

Overall Race Summary

Participants: Approximately 150 people took part in the 5 mile event. The 5KM had many families involved.

Weather: The weather was slightly mixed. There was a cool breeze seemingly on the face of runners for many parts of the left handed course. There was a very light sure during the early part of the race whilst later in the race there were some heavier showers.

Course: The race starts just west of the Bohermeen Athletics Track and Club House (about 500 meters from the finish line) and proceeds down the straight road (Newline) passing the club house. The race takes runners over the M3 motorway and the a very sharp left turn uphill at Arbraccan brings the runners heading northwards to another left turn and back up a rise over the M3 motorway again. For the remainder of the race the route is flat with no hills or drags. The section between miles 3 and 4 are sheltered by high hedgerows and passes Durhamstown Castle one of the oldest lived in houses in Ireland. The final mile brings runners into Bohermeen village with the school and church to their left. The race then takes its final left turn back onto the straight newline road where runners pass the start of the race and the final 400 meters which brings runners onto the gravel track and across the finish line.

Location Map: Start/finish area and registration etc on Google StreetView [goo.gl/maps/KW9Lt]

Refreshments: The folks at Bohermeen AC and the local community a wonderful spread of sandwiches, cakes, buns, teas and coffees in the sports hall afterwards.

Sony A1 + 70-200 f/2.8 GM II

This didn't quite come out like I had hoped but I'm throwing it out there for any thoughts or constructive criticism since I'm a noob to these types of shots.

Shot in the light box again, hung the dart from a string and had the smoke positioned underneath. Off camera strobe fired from behind and to the left and bounced off of white board. Rotated the image in CS5 and cleaned up some of the residual smoke but I'm not happy with the lighting. I only have one speed light so I'm not sure what else I could have done.

I was aiming for some "interestiness" to the smoke shots other than just smoke and I was hoping to add a sense of speed to the shot by making it look like the dart was cutting through the smoke.
