Last evening the fire department had a controlled burn/training for new cadets. 19* out and Dave was gone for a good seven hours. I rode out for a few hours. One has to salute these men and women for their dedication.

"Do you think anyone will come?" she asked in a soft voice while rehearsing her routine, with the Angel assisting her to stay steady as she concentrated on the lines and shapes of her body.
The Angel's lips twitched, and her fingers briefly tightened on the girl's arm. "Do you think it matters?" she replied.
The girl continued to maintain her form, the Angel continued to silently guide her, tapping gently to correct. The smile never left the Angels' lips, as she waited for the girl to process her thoughts and feelings.
That part of the dance completed, the girl folded her legs under herself, hugging her knees to her chest, still thoughtful.
"It mostly doesn't matter." She murmured, then glanced up with her impish smile and wide eyes, "It's been fun, of course, but it -partly- matters; I brought my ego along in my backpack after all."
The angel chuckled in that soft, lilting way she had, nodding at the girl's words. "I think it is one of those things in life, where it is all about the journey. We've had fun doing this, you have met so many people in the city."
She shrugged, "I think you will dance beautifully, and I certainly intend to be there!"

So I had this urge to practice on some pictures and lo and behold I stumbled over this picture from Meera which made my finguers itch to practice my photoshopping. Honestly, I quite like the way it came out.
Thank you so much Meera for letting me practice on you!

This is the photography backdrop I told you about and the model is Rontzy, one of the toys I've made. And because mouses love to eat, she's sitting near an old wooden food recipient.
Any constructive criticism is warmly welcomed. Thank you!

Red-winged Blackbird landing on a young aspen tree. With the proliferation of new trees came many new feathered friends.
